If we were all like Yoruba people on Earth, there would be no war, fight, hatred, and animosity. Everywhere will just be cruise, party, fun, and enjoyment. Yoruba people are the only ethnicity on Earth that I have seen give their children a name like enjoyment. Yes! When you see a Yoruba person bearing Jaiye, that name is the opposite of Abiku. It is a name encouraging the child to live and chop life. That is their mentality.

That is why everyone in Nigeria naturally gravitates to Lagos and the Southwest. To go and Jaiye! I live in America. Do you know how other Africans send invites to their parties? They add the following:

'The Nigerians will be there!'

Go ahead, Google it. By Nigerians, they mean Yoruba! Anywhere they are on planet Earth, people just love them. Even their language is fun to listen to. A Yoruba person can be speaking (not singing), and you will just feel like dancing. They don't take life too seriously. If a Yoruba dies, there is a party. If a Yoruba lives, there is a party. Ariya, miliki and igbadun is their way of life. I guarantee you, you can't listen to Shinamania, Destiny by King Sunny Ade, Miliki Express by Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey, Mo So Rire by Father and Son Dairo, Dami Duro by Davido, etc., and not be immediately lifted in spirit.

May we all learn to see the brighter side of life as the Yoruba. In Yeshua's Name.

I’ve written more than 252 songs for music artistes, Peruzzi boasts

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Tobechukwu Victor Okoh, popularly known as Peruzzi, has revealed that nothing less than 252 songs were written by him for the music industry.

The music artiste said many of the celebrities in the industry have contacted him for the songs while boasting that he was an oracle that his colleagues consulted.

Peruzzi made this known on his X account on Monday.

He wrote, “I’ve written over 252 records for your industry and you keep playing with your dads on this app.

Popular media personality, Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, has disclosed that he stopped attending church after his pastor expelled him from sitting in the front row following his divorce.

Speaking in the latest episode of the Teju Babyface Deep Dive podcast, Daddy Freeze said shortly after his divorce in 2014, the pastor of the church he was attending, asked him to start sitting at the back seat since he is a divorcee.

The OAP explained that before his divorce, he was a church worker and was very active in the organisation of the church’s programme but he was expelled immediately after his divorce.

He said he decided to stop going to church instead of “hiding” in the back seat.

He said he started studying and researching the scriptures on Sundays, which led him to discover that most of the things Nigerian churches preached were “flawed.”

Daddy Freeze said, “My marriage had always been troubled and in 2014 it came to an end. And I remember I used to do events in my church. The church minister used to pay me then to do events which I celebrated. At least, the pastor was not eating all the money, he was sharing with the people who were working.

“I was booked for an event that I used to do for the church, and I got a call that I should cancel it because of my divorce or pending divorce drama. And I was like, ‘Because I’m going through a divorce does that remove God from me?’ I questioned that too.

“Then the pastor came to my house and we had a conversation. He was like, ‘I’m not telling you not to come to the church but when you come to the church, sit at the back.’ And I was like what’s all this? So, that made me sit at home on Sundays. Instead of going to church and hiding, is it not better that I sit at home?

“So, sitting at home on Sundays now started feeding the holes in my brain.”

Amid a widespread corruption investigation, Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa has announced his resignation.

The Public Prosecutor's Office in a statement said it is investigating Costa and members of his cabinet for alleged crimes, including prevarication, active and passive corruption, and influence peddling.

The Prosecutor's Office carried out the search of "spaces used by the Prime Minister's chief of staff" and said that several suspects have spoken of Costa's involvement in the case for "unblocking procedures".

The investigation, in which more than 40 locations were searched, focuses on lithium mining concessions in the Romano and Barroso mines in the north of the country, as well as a project for a hydrogen energy production plant and another for the construction of a data centre, both in Sines.

Senator Neda Imasuen, a member of the Labour Party in the Senate, defended LP lawmakers for not rejecting the National Assembly's plan to purchase luxury SUVs worth N160 million each.

Imasuen explained that the LP lawmakers are too few in number to prevent the majority from supporting this plan, which has sparked public outrage.

The LP National Chairman, Julius Abure, criticised the spending as insensitive and wasteful, but Imasuen stated that their small representation in the Senate limits their influence on such matters.

He said, “I want to say that I have not received any vehicle and none has been offered to me. However, we are in a democracy where the majority will have their way and the minority will have their say.

“We can only say what we believe is the right thing to do in the parliament; we are just eight senators, amid 109 senators. So, those who have zeroed in on Labour Party senators. I think it is very unfair.

“Assuming 109 vehicles are given to senators and eight rejected them, can you please tell me what significance that will be to the budget or the overall image of the National Assembly?

“What I can say is that the LP is not the proponent of this and we have made some inquiries and these seem to be the practice every four years.

“What people don’t know is that senators are offered the right of first refusal after their tenure. If they don’t buy the vehicle, it goes back to the Senate.

“It is supposed to be a working vehicle for senators. If we were to vote on it today, the eight Labour Party senators will vote against it but it doesn’t stop it because the 101 senators will vote yes. Even if we reject it, who takes it, are they going to return it to the manufacturers?”

Daniel Bwala, the spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Council, said that President Bola Tinubu might face more significant challenges in managing Peter Obi's supporters, known as the "Obidients," who back the Labour Party's (LP) candidate.

He believes this could be a bigger concern for Tinubu than handling the nation's economy. Bwala made this statement in response to comments made by Datti Baba-Ahmed, Obi's running mate, regarding the Supreme Court's verdict confirming Tinubu's presidency.

According to Datti, the apex court upheld the legality of the lower courts but did not affirm President Tinubu's victory.
He added that he would never be shaken by a man who forged his certificate and forfeited drug money.

But, in a statement on his X handle on Tuesday, Bwala said that Tinubu will face more problems in managing the LP and its supporters.

He stated, “Listening to Datti Baba-Ahmed this evening, I believe the man has not shifted a bit from his earlier position, although he now accepts the fact that Tinubu is the President by the court.

“But Peter Obi and Datti’s position today convinced me that Tinubu has more problems to manage with the Labour Party and Obidients than the entire economy and insecurity in Nigeria.

“How he will navigate this is a course to be taught at OAU, ABU, and Nsukka universities,” he added.

EARLY LIFE

Etim was born on 21 October 1974 in Lagos. Etim attended Awa Nursery School and Command Primary School in Kaduna State, from where she then furthered her studies at Louis College, Jos, and the Federal Government Colleges in Jos and Ilorin.

She said that her family was often transferred to various regions of Nigeria due to her father's career with the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Etim got her first degree in Theater Arts from the University of Calabar.

PERSONAL LIFE:

Etim is the first of six children. In an interview with Toolz, she stated that she's had Caucasian Godparents.
She married her childhood friend Clifford Sule on 14 February 2013 at a Lagos registry. A traditional wedding ceremony followed in her hometown in Akwa Ibom State and Lagos State, respectively, some months after the civil union. She currently resides in London with her husband, a senior lecturer at Middles*x University who frequents Nigeria for film engagements.
