Join us at the Ola Black Poetry Contest 2024 in Oworo!

Everyone, regardless of age, gender, or sensory abilities, is warmly welcomed to the Ola Black Poetry Contest 2024 in Oworo!
Step into a world of poetic expression and community connection. The Ola Black Poetry Contest 2024 in Oworo offers a unique platform for you to express yourself through poetry and connect with others in the community.

The contest is proudly organized by Agnes Jolayemi Johnson, a visionary leader and the CEO of Ola Black Arts and Oba Ushers & Greeters. Her expertise and passion ensure a memorable event for all.

In the year twenty twenty-three,
The Ola Black Poetry Contest did soar,
With poets from far and wide,
Gathering to showcase their pride.

The words they wove were bold and true,
Painting pictures with every hue,
Lines that leaped off the page,
Stirring hearts with every age.

From sonnets to free verse,
Each poem is an artistic gem to disperse,
Journeys of love, loss, and pain,
All are captured in this poetic refrain.

After the judges had spoken,
One poet won while others' hearts were broken,
But the truth remains untold,
Without their souls, no poem could unfold.

Come and share your voice and experience the power of creativity.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Let's keep our focus on the topic and not get distracted. Bobrisky's behavior is not the issue here. If we're discussing the video and the person in it, the police were wrong to arrest him if he didn't attempt to scam or engage in any sexual activity.

The victim's performance is just that - a performance. The use of makeup and costumes is a long-standing tradition in theater, and it's common for actors to disguise themselves as a different gender or in any other way necessary for the role.

In our culture, it's also common to see street vendors, screen actors, and stage actors wearing costumes of any kind. Therefore, if the person in the video was arrested for dancing while dressed as a female, it's not fair to say he did anything wrong.

It's like saying that any actor who portrays a doctor on stage should be arrested if they're not a real doctor. Many African gods, such as Sango and others, who are male are depicted as female, and we accept them without question.

Instead of judging someone based on their appearance, we should judge them based on their actions. We shouldn't generalize and say that all men dressing as women is a bad idea. In the 70s and 80s, many male band dancers dressed as women while performing live band music.

Overall, many Nigerian and African dances involve waist and chest movements, and it's not uncommon for men to excel in them. Male dancers often outshine their female counterparts. Using makeup, powder, lipstick, and costumes is common in many ethnic groups.

In conclusion, let's not lose sight of the issue and remember that appearance doesn't define a person's character.
