DETAILS: One of the detained Binance Executive detained in Nigeria for alleged tax evasion and other offences, has escaped from custody.

Premium Times is reporting that Mr Anjarwalla, 38, escaped on Friday, 22 March, from the Abuja guest house where he and his colleague were detained after guards on duty led him to a nearby mosque for prayers in the spirit of the ongoing Ramadan fast.

The Briton, who also has Kenyan citizenship, is believed to have flown out of Abuja using a Middle East airliner.

An Immigration official said the Binance executive fled Nigeria on a Kenyan passport. He, however, said authorities were trying to determine how he obtained the passport, given that he had no other travel document (apart from the British passport) on him when he was taken into custody.

Smugglers Taking Nigerian Fuel To Cameroon Attack Customs Officers, Try To Burn Officers In Adamawa

Smugglers on Sunday attacked and injured a Nigerian customs officer around Sahuda, a border town between Nigeria and the Republic of Cameroon, SaharaReporters has learnt.

Officers attached to the Adamawa/Taraba Area Command were attacked while blocking the smugglers from ferrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol to the Republic of Cameroon.

They were said to have intercepted the smugglers around Sahuda, a border town in the Mubi South Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The smugglers reportedly turned violent and mobilised a mob who attacked the officers with clubs and daggers. They also smashed a patrol van in the process. They were about to set the officers ablaze when military officers came to their rescue.

Comptroller of the Area command, Salisu Abdullahi Kazaure, confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters on Sunday.

Kazaure said an Incident Report had been forwarded to the customs headquarters in Abuja.

The Indent Report seen by SaharaReporters reads in part, "On Sunday 17th March 2024 at about 1130hours following the unwavering efforts of the Command Officers for effective border management and to suppress smuggling activities at the Command's territorial borders, the Command operatives led by SC T Suleiman, comprising ASCI UU Abdullahi, ASCI MS Ibrahim and others while on information patrol along Mubi-Sahuda road intercepted three (3) tricycle (Kekenapep) loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) suspected to be smuggled goods being taken out of the Country into the Republic of Cameroon.

"An attempt by the officers to prevent the smuggling of the product, the smugglers launched a mob attack on them and even tried to burn the officers alongside the official vehicles.

"The swift intervention and re-enforcement from the Nigerian Army saved the situation. However, one of our officers was terribly wounded and the windscreen of one of the operational vehicles was smashed.

"The officers were able to secure, evacuate and bring 45x25L Jerry Cans of the PMS from the tricycles to the station amidst the struggle."

Tinubu Turns 72

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will turn 72 on Friday March 29, 2024. The day will be another important milestone in his life as a leader and a statesman.

During an auspicious occasion as this, it is customary for family members, friends and associates to celebrate him in different ways.

As the leader of our country, President Tinubu in deference to this challenging times will not host any birthday event and does not want any of his associates and numerous well-wishers across the country to organise any celebratory event on his behalf or in his name.

President Tinubu appreciates the honour of being the leader of Africa’s leading nation at this time and he is working very hard to make life better for the generality of our people.

According to him, because of the present mood of the nation and recent killing of the officers and men of our Army and Police in Delta State and recent spate of security breaches by criminal elements in different parts of Nigeria, there should be no form of birthday event and placing of birthday goodwill advertorial messages in newspapers. Goodwill messages should not be placed on radio and television stations too.

President Tinubu enjoins friends and associates who may wish to place goodwill advertorials to kindly donate the money to charity organisations of their choice in his name.

Although the President appreciates the gallantry of our armed forces in freeing our children kidnapped in Kuriga, Kaduna State and in Sokoto State, he will use the opportunity of his birthday to reflect and re-dedicate himself to the task of building a more stable, more secure, virile, prosperous and united Nigeria.

Simon Ekpa, Chika Edozie, 95 Other Terrorists Declared Wanted

The Defence Headquarters(DHQ), has declared 97 persons wanted for terrorism, violent extremism, secessionist among other violent crimes.

Prominent among the names and pictures of the wanted persons released by Director, Defence Media is Simon Ekpa.

He said the banners would be deployed in strategic areas across the country. “The deployment of the banner is for ease of recognition and arrest of the wanted persons. They public is urge to cooperate and report,please.

The wanted persons, terrorists/ bandits and insurgents commanders are from the North East, North West, North Central and South-East zones.

A breakdown of the wanted persons shows that 43 were declared wanted in North West Zone where banditry and kidnapping is rife. They include: Alhaji Shingi; Malindi Yakubu; Boka ; Dogo Gide; Halilu Sububu; Ado Aliero ; Bello Turji; Dan Bokkolo; Labi Yadi ; Nagala; Saidu Idris; Kachalla Rugga and Sani Gurgu.

Similarly, 33 persons were declared wanted In the North East that is ravaged by Boko Haram and Islamic State for West Africa Province terrorists.

Those decanted wanted are terrorists commanders, Abu Zaida; Modu Sulum; Baba Data; Ahmad; Sani Teacher; Baa Sadiq; Abdul Saad; Kaka Abi; Mohammad Khalifa; Umar Tella; Abu Mutahid; Mallam Mohammad; Mallam Tahiru Baga; Uzaiya and Ali Ngule.

A total of 21 Insurgents/militants and violent criminals were declared wanted In the North Central and South East.
They include factional IPOB leader Simon Ekpa; Chika Edoziem; Egede; Zuma, ThankGod Gentle; Flavour; Mathew; David Ndubuisi ; High Chief Williams Agbor; Ebuka Nwaka; Friday Ojimka.

Others in the South East include Obiemesi Chukwudi aka Dan Chuk ; David Ezekwem Chidiebube and Amobi Chinonso Okafor aka Temple.

My Son mistakenly BR0ke the WC and i wrote an 0fficial letter to the Landlord, informing him about it and the need for him to come and F!x it, because i pa!d for Damag£s F££ at the point of R£nting the Apartment.

Oga Tenant, the Landlord is only L!able for the structural and external repairs of the R£ntal pr0perty, you are responsible for the internal repairs and minor wears and tears repairs.

So in this cas£, your son is responsible for damag!ng the WC, so it becomes your responsibility as a Tenant to F!x it.

Because you pa!d for Damag£s does not give you the right to damag£ things intentionally in the apartment and hoping that the Landlord will come to F!x it.

There is a L!mit to what your Damag£s F££ Covers, else the Landlord has the r!ght to File a Su!t aga!nst you for Ma!cious Damag£

In the name of Allah the Beneficient, the Most Merciful, I wish to announce that our Kuriga school children have been released.

Our special appreciation goes to our dear President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for prioritizing the safety and security of Nigerians and particularly ensuring that the abducted Kuriga school children are released unharmed. While the school children were in captivity, I spoke with Mr. President several times. He shared our pains, comforted us and worked round the clock with us to ensure the safe return of the children.

Special mention must also be made of our dear brother, the National Security Adviser, Mal. Nuhu Ribadu for his exemplary leadership. I spent sleepless nights with Mal. Ribadu finetuning strategies and coordinating the operations of the security agencies, which eventually resulted in this successful outcome.

The Nigerian Army also deserves special commendation for showing that with courage, determination and commitment, criminal elements can be degraded and security restored in our communities.

We also thank all Nigerians who prayed fervently for the safe return of the school children. This is indeed a day of joy. We give Almighty Allah all the glory.
