Tekno was one of the biggest musicians in Nigeria in 2016 after dropping Rara, Pana, and Diana. In 2017, he lost his voice and couldn’t sing the songs he wrote.

He started contacting Davido to give him the song IF, which he had written and was planning to record. Davido did not take him serious and was busy clubbing. Tekno took out his time one day, went to the club and carried Davido to the studio to record the song and the rest was history!

After Davido recorded and released IF, it became one of the biggest hit songs in Afrobeats history!

When the video dropped, it became the first African song to hit 1 million Y0uTube views in 24 hours.

It became Davido’s first song to be certified RIAA Gold in the US and the first solo song by an African artist to surpass 100 million streams on Spotify!

Davido made over $10 million from royalties and sales of this song, and it literally placed him at the top of Afrobeats globally!

Till date, Davido still appreciates Tekno for changing his life with that song!

Tekno gave us hits that Afrobeats can never forget!

"When P-Square was in their prime, there was no artiste in this whole Nigeria that could compete with them. P-Square was never in competition with anyone, they just led and the others followed.
I was performing at one spot called City Center in Enugu when P-Square just released "Temptation". So they came there to promote their show and so the promoters brought P-Square to perform. I was performing and immediately P-Square came in, the manager said: 'Hello, off that thing you're doing.' I was wasting some time on stage to leave and since the fans already knew that P-Square was there, they asked me to leave quickly like I was almost beatēn up. So I switched off, passed the microphone to P-Square and went and sat down somewhere so I could look at them perform.
And immediately P-Square climbed on stage, everybody went crãzy and about 100 girls faînted. So they held the microphone and just did 🗣'This Na Temptation.' And everybody just started shouting and singing the song, there was no way for them to sing again. I looked at them and I was like is this not the same music we're all doing? Then after they performed for like 15 minutes, they told everyone that they had a show and they want them pull up and everybody was hailing them and they left. After they left, the manager now told me: 'Oya come and continue.' When I started performing again, nobody was clapping. And that was when it occurred to me that P-Square are the kings of Nigerian music."
