Miyetti Allah backs Southern govs on open grazing ban

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria has supported the ban on open grazing in the Southern part of the country which was issued by governors of the region.

MACBAN’s position was declared by the National Patron, Senator Walid Jibrin, during a press conference in Kaduna on Thursday.

Jibrin said the ban is capable of providing solutions to the farmers-herders crisis across the country.

He said cattle rearing has been in Africa for over 100 years without any consideration to the free movement of cattle (Open Grazing) or any Grazing Reserve.

He, however, said such was allowed because there were few herders then, as he pointed out that the practice today is getting outdated internationally.

Governors of the Southern part of Nigeria had issued the ban on open grazing after a meeting in Asaba, the Delta State capital so as to curb the insecurity in the region.

Mixed reactions as Ayade defects to APC

The defection of the Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress has evoked mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media.

The Governor on Thursday announced his decision after a closed-door meeting with six APC governors that lasted over an hour at the executive chamber of the Governor’s office in Calabar.

His decision erupted various reactions from Nigerian tweeps; while few lauded him, some slammed him while others were indifferent.

A tweep, , wrote, “I guess Ben Ayade and Nyesom Wike couldn’t mend their differences. Ben Ayade has now transferred himself to the APC.”

Another tweep, described the decision as a shameful one, as he tweeted, “They run to APC for safety when their tenure is coming to an end, to avoid being probed by EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission).”

“What blessing will your decamping bring to the state? What development has Buhari brought to Nigeria that you want to join hands with him? What blessings has APC as a party brought to Nigeria?”, questioned.

DARKNESS CAUGHT UP WITH A YOUNG MAN WHO WAS PARADED NAKED ALONG ORANGE MARKET, MARABA, ABUJA.

A young man named Idris Suileman who is in his early 20's was mobbed and beaten to stupor by area boys today at a popular market called Orange Market along Nyanya-Keffi express road.

Nobody would believed he was a thief with his resplendent dressing in baba riga, he entered into a lady's shop where phones and phone accessories are sold to commit his horrendous acts.

He had deceived the woman that he needed some iPhones in bulk and was ready to make a transaction instantly. The owner of the shop whose name is withheld unfortunately doesn't have the required numbers of iPhones Mr Idris had wanted. So she promptly rushed to a nearby neighbor who sells phones and accessories like she does to get more of the iPhones to complete the number her customer needed.

The lady couldn't believe her eyes when her supposed customer had already disappeared.

Then she immediately ran out and was able to sight him from a distance and picked after him.

She knew she would not be able to walk fast to meet up with the thief, ofcourse she began to make an alarm of help. Area boys and some pedestrians didn't hesitate to help out. He was severely brutalized and disfigured. The promixity of him surviving was slim, as stolen items were retrieved from him.

An eye witness who wants his name to be withheld disclosed to us that "this is their major arena where they carry out these crimes. He said there are many in this market. That he's pleased on how the thief was dealt with."

Another eyewitness, Mama Ene said "she had a similar experience last week, immediately she noticed some strange moves by the man. She halted communications with him and ordered him to leave her shop without remorse."

The attention of police was quickly called upon and they restored normalcy to the affected area of the market and took the culprit away for further investigation.
