Let me offer my sincere appreciation for your prayers and praises, following my appointment as the Pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, which occurred on Thursday, January 25, 2024.

The elevation and honour came eleven months after I was appointed the Head of Mass Communication Department on February 16, 2023.

I cherish your wise, wonderful and stimulating words of encouragement.

Furthermore, the appointment turned out to be a perfect birthday gift for me, coming in January, and 22 days after my diamond delectation ( 60th birthday anniversary ) on January 3, 2024.

Additionally, it is remarkable that after pioneering the establishment of the Department of Mass Communication here, way back in the 2005/2006 Academic Session, and after being HOD three times, I am again being trusted to initiate the setting up of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies from the structure of the Department of Mass Communication, after its 19 years of existence.

For these reasons, I do hereby thank the Almighty Allah for the grace, and the Vice-chancellor, Prof. Suleiman Bala Mohammed, and the Registrar, Mallam Bala I. Ahmed ll , for their kindness.

I will always think fondly of you ALL.

It gladdens me to convey the news of the unbundling of the Department of Mass Communication and its upgrading to the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies by the Senate of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, at its meeting of Thursday, January 25, 2024.

At the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor of the University and Chairman of Senate, Prof. Suleiman Bala Mohammed, also proclaimed the following immediate appointments:

1. Dean of the Faculty: Prof. Muhammad S. Rabiu.
2. Head, Department of Broadcasting: Prof. Kaior Samuel Akpede.
3. Head, Department of Journalism and Media Studies: Tsegyu Santas, PhD.
4. Head, Department of Public Relations: Anthony Ogande, PhD.

May Allah guide our steps in this new task of growing the new Faculty.
