A concern citizen and educationist in funtua Alh Suleiman shehu maska has stressed the need for wealthy individuals in funtua zone to extend support to the newly established community based orphans school at makera area in funtua town.

Alh Suleiman shehu maska who is also the Director of the school which is called "Funtua Orphanage Education and Development Initiative" said the purpose of establishing the school is to assist the orphans children of the less previllaged to have the right type of Western and islamic education in the society.

Avisit to the school shows that it was established in 2023 and has over one hundred pupils at present who were in primary 1-2.

Alh Suleiman shehu maska who is now serving as the Director of the school said the school is being run with the financial support souced from people who know about the school in funtua.

He said from the on set one individual bought a house that was converted to serve as the school premises while another one renovated the entire school.

The beneficiaries of the initiative are orphan children from the catchment area of makera, unguwar Musa,sabuwar Abuja,Bagari,and ungueat Dahiru among others.

The Director of The school noted that the pupils were in four class from class one to class two.

The school he said is for every child who is really an orphan and from the less previllaged homes.

Before admitting the orphan children on the school they must under go a screening to verify them as truly orphans before admitting them.

The orphans he said were given Western education along side Islamic education with five teachers being paid some substential amount from the little the school generated.

Alh Suleiman shehu maska clarified that the admission is free and all other expenses in the school is also free.The Director said teachers with NCE are given 20,000 while Degree holders are given 25,000 and the headmaster of the school is being paid 35,000 naira each.

Alh Suleiman shehu maska seized the opportunity an called on those who have the means to come forward to support the school as sadaqatul jariya.

He praised funtua local government chairman for given approval for a monthly allowance of 100,000 to the school every month which the school has already started benefiting.

A concerns citizens and phlontropies in Funtua Major Aliyu Babajo Funtua retired has stressed the need for government and other non governmental organizations to properly support community Health Technology institutions for the benefit of less previllaged childrens.

The retired Army officer who initiate and operate community based schools and clinic free of charge for the benefit of orphans,less previllaged and IDPS in Funtua said such assistant to these institutions is necessary and important to humanity.

A recent visit to the section of one of the schools "funtua community health, science and Technology" it was locked in compliance of katsina state directives to all Health Technology institutions to suspend their operations until proper screening and verification to ensure standard before continuetion of operations in such schools.

The closure of the school has prove wtong those accusing the school management for non compliance to the state government directives.

Aliyu Babajo said being a retired security personnel he fully understand law and the significance of obeying the law.

The philontropies expressed dismay on the baseless accusation against the school management of ignoring the directives given on closing the school saying the school remain close on the day the directives was given by government.

He said the action taken by government to maintain standard of operation among these schools is commendable effort.

The retired major strongly supported government on the initiative saying that the exercise will improve community health to the core.on Aliyu Babajo philontropies activities he said the educational activities are under WAQAFI based on donations from individuals and groups.

According to him there are primary, secondary and school of Health science Technolgy as well as a demonstration clinic in the school.

Major Alyu Babajo rtd noted that admission in the schools is highly subsidized and special scholarship is given to orphans and children of the less previllaged.

He called on Government, the wealthy and those who have the means to properly assist the school to function well.

A one day validation exercise on a UN draft security state action plan has been conducted in Funtua Zone.

The exercise tagged 'UNSCR 2250,youth peace and security state action plan validation workshop "was organised by the state ministry of youth and sports Development in collaboration with the state office of UNDP.

The aim of the workshop was to validate the informations contain in the draft action plan prepared on youth peace and security for immediate implementation.

Speaking at the workshop conducted in funtua the Director youth at the ministry of youth and sports Development Alh sani yahaiya said the data contain in the draft action plan was collected last year from the stakeholders on the action plan which was subjected for validation to make corrections before implementation.

Alh sani yahaiya noted that the stakeholders who provided the informations at the meeting last year include youth of various associations, traditional rulers, Religious and community leaders, security agents including vigilante groups, trade unions and the press among others.

According to him the motive behind the "UN security 2250 youth peace and security state action plan" is to actively involve youth in peace and conflict resolutions for a better society.

He said the move is also aimed at changing the behaviors of youth from negative to positive for a lasting peace.

The implementation of the action plan according to him will assist in the protection of human rights, freedom of speech,promote and protect the right of individuals and promote relationship with civil society group.

Other benefits include to re-intergrete youth who were violent members back in the society as peaceful members.

The overall aim of the peace plan is reintergration, promotion of peace, prevention of violence, protection of right among others.

In his presentation at the workshop, the state chairman of civil society organization Abubakar Abdullahi spoke at length on the draft action plan by analysing its content for possible corrections or suggestions.

He said the draft action plan show cases informations on insecurity issues such as Banditory, kidnapping,Rape,and other criminal activities.

Abubakar Abdullahi stressed the need for a collective effort from all the stakeholders to achieve the desired goal.

During the occasion the participants people spoke on various issues concerning insecurity and other social vices such as hoarding and unemployment among youth as the causes of economic hardship and insecurity in the society.

At the end of the validation exercise it was adopted for implementation.

Military confirms presence of new terrorists’ group in Sokoto, Kebbi

The military high command has confirmed the presence of a new terrorists’ group known as ‘Lukarawas’ in Sokoto and Kebbi states, which it says has been exacerbating the security challenges in the Northwest.

It also declared no fewer than nine terrorists’ commanders wrecking havocs in the Northeast region wanted, adding that no matter how hard they tried, the terrorists would be neutralised within shortest possible time.

The Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, who disclosed this during a press briefing at Defence Headquarters, Abuja, said the terrorists had since been kept at bay by the joint security forces.

Daily Trust reports that Sokoto State Government while receiving participants of Course 33 of the NDC Abuja, who were on a study tour in the state, had raised the alarm over the emergence of another terrorist group in the state.

Similarly, as Chadian troops intensified operations on the shores of the Lake Chad, some Boko Haram terrorists have continued to move further into villages in Borno State, heightening locals’ fears of possible security breaches.

Explaining how the terrorists found their way to Sokoto and Kebbi, Buba said they emerged from the Republic of Niger after the coup that led to the breakdown of military cooperation between Nigeria and Niger.

He specifically said that the terrorists began incursion into northern parts of Sokoto and Kebbi states from the Niger Republic and Mali axis, particularly after the coup in Niger Republic.

According to him, prior to the coup, there were joint border operations with Nigerien security forces which kept the terrorists at bay, but they cashed in on the breakdown to pe*****te Nigeria.

“The terrorists took advantage of the gaps in cooperation between both countries and exploited difficult terrains to make incursions in remote areas in some Northwestern states to spread their ideology,” Buba said.

The senior military officer said that the group was accommodated by the locals, who initially thought that the group meant well for them, adding that they failed to report the movement to the military and security agencies.

Buba gave assurance that troops had sustained Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) to degrade the terrorists, insisting that their end is near.

He added, “The terror group had continued to take advantage of the vast under-governed or ungoverned areas to hide and evade troops as well as harass the locals. Troops are locating them and eliminating the threat.”

In the same vein, the terrorists the senior military officer declared wanted include: Abu Khadijah, Abdulrahman, Dadi Gumba, Usman Kanin Shehu, Abu Yusuf, among others.

Doctors withdraw services from Kano hospital over assault on colleague.

Following a 48 hour ultimatum issued by the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Kano State Branch, in response to the alleged assault on a female doctor at the Emergency Pediatric Unit of Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, the Association has announced withdrawal of services from the hospital, according to Dailytrust Newspaper.

According to the Public Relations Officer, NMA Kano, Dr Muhammad Aminu Musa, the strike is as a result of lack of concrete action taken by the Kano State Government.

He said, “An investigation conducted by the Ministry of Health has confirmed that the doctor was not at fault in the incident, verifying that she acted with full professionalism in her duties.

“Despite this, no action has been taken to address the misconduct of the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, who led this assault and harassed a healthcare worker performing her duties under extremely challenging conditions.

“The NMA Kano has therefore resolved to withdraw all medical services at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital indefinitely, effective from 12 noon today, 6th November 2024.”

He said the action would not be reversed until the government dismisses the Commissioner and provide adequate staffing and resource allocation and enhance security measures.

“Immediate steps must be taken to meet the minimum benchmark requirement for healthcare personnel in the facility, ensuring that doctors are not forced to work under conditions that put their safety and patients health at risk.

“Provision and maintenance of adequate security for all units within the hospital to protect healthcare workers and patients.”

He therefore reiterated the NMA’s commitment to the highest standards of medical care and patient safety, adding that the action is intended to underscore the urgency of justice and reforms to protect healthcare professionals.

“We call on the government to act swiftly and decisively to restore confidence in Kano State’s healthcare system and ensure a safe working environment for all medical personnel,” he concluded.

The Katsina State Office Of Investments Promotion Agency Organises A One Day Sensitization and Awareness Program On Accessing Loan.

The katsina state office of Investments promotion Agency has organised a one day sensitization and awareness program on how investors and entrepreneurs could have access to credit and other loan facilities for economic growth.

The awareness campaign program drew participants from bussiness communities in funtua zone.

The deputy Governor faruq lawal jobe and Director General of the Agency Alh Ibrahim Tukur jikamshi were in attendance.

Speaking at the occasion the Deputy Governor faruq lawal jobe represented by the permanent sectary mannir Aliyu Mani restated katsina state Government commitment to providing enabling environment for potential investors and entrepreneurs for rapid bussiness growth in the state.

The Deputy Governor noted that billions of Naira was provided to support investors and entrepreneurs with soft loans to boost their bussiness for economic growth.

He said katsina state government through kaseda/ kipa agencies has designed proper means of securing loans from Banks to finance bussiness and other trades.

Faruq lawal jobe advised people of the state to make good of the opportunity given to them to solidify their businesses.

In a remarked the Director General of the Agency Alh Ibrahim Tukur jikamshi said the aim of the awareness campaign was to provide a forum for proper discussion between financial service providers and participants on access to loan facilities for bussiness development in the state.

Ibrahim Tukur jikamshi said katsina State Government led by Governor Dikko Umar Radda is doing it's best in making the state economically viable.

He said the state is ranked fifth in the nation on the implementation of reforms for "Ease of doing business" for rapid economic development.

The Director General noted that the one day awareness program which is the second of its kind this year was meant to educate investors on various credit options available In finance institutions and other banks for accessibility.

The Medical Health Workers Union in Katsina State has described the recent move to sanitise the activities of Health Technology Institutions in the state as a welcome development.

The new chairman of the union comrade Bishir Ibrahim gyaza stated this when speaking to the press in funtua.

Comrade Bishir Ibrahim Gyaza said the decision will improve the services of the affected Health institutions for the development of healthcare services in the state.

The chairman of the union noted that the condition of some of these health science institutions is worry some.

He said some of the affected schools are substandard with unqualified staff for proper running of the institutions.

He explained that provision of qualified health personels remain the cardinal objective of both the government and the union.

Comrade Bishir Ibrahim noted that it is disheartening to see the condition of some of these schools stressing that the quality of students graduating from such schools are unqualified to operate as health practitioners.

The Medical health workers union boss urged government to properly screen the institutions to ensure conformity to led down rules and regulations governing the smorth running of schools.

He advised the proprietors of such Health Technology schools to consider the action taken against them as a way of improving their services for the benefit of the society not an attempt to cripple them.

comrade Bishir Ibrahim Gyaza spoke on the effort of the present administration on improving the condition of some health clinics in the state to provide health facilitate closer to the people.

Recently he said three comprehensive health clinics were renovated in each of the thirty four local government areas of the state.

The state chairman of the union advised health workers to always put in their best in the discharge of their duties to justified their earnings.

Arrangementd have been completed by Katsina State Government and State Office of Wheat Farmers Association of Nigeria for the commencement of this years wheat farming season.

The state chairman of association Alhaji Hassan Salihu Kwai stated this when speaking to press.

He said the Federal and State Governments have indicated intention to support wheat farmers adquately with relevant farming inputs for the cultivation of wheat this cropping season.

The chairman of the Association noted that three programs are on the way from government and private sectors aimed at complementing the effort of the farmers.

According to Alhaji Hassan Salihu Kwai, among the programmes is private Anchor Borrows that will be financed by an Agro Alied Company, there are other programmes from Federal and State Governments where subsidy will be applied among others.

The State Chairman of the Wheat Farmers noted that, the association is ready to work with only the genuine farmers who are ready to work hard and utililse the assistance that will be given to them.

Alhaji Hassan Salihu Kwai said the era of giving farming assistance to those who are not ready to farm has gone, only the real farmers will be patronised.

He therefore called on the farmers with zeal and determination to come forward and joind hands with the association in moving wheat farming forward in the state.

Hassan Salihu Kwai said the association will soon commence mapping of farmlands of the real farmers stressing that only whose farmlands were captured will be assisted.

The state chairman of the association warned local government chairmen of the association against forwarding names of fake wheat farmers, saying that who ever tried any form of malpractice will have himself to blame.

He announced that government is ready to promote agricultural sector forward for the cultivation of both food and cash crops.

He addded that farmers with determination stand a chance of benefitting alot from the scheme.

Wambai House To House Stresses The Need For Politicians To Be More United In Changing Political Scenario of Funtua Zone.

A political organization called "Wambai House To House" in Funtua senatorial zone has stressed the need for politicians in the zone to be more united and speak with one voice in changing the political scenario of the zone to the better.

The organization led by its Director General Elder Idris Danliman and its chairman Honourable Ibrahim Jarumai Mahuta made the resolution during the general meeting of the organization held at Danliman event center funtua.

The meeting was attended by notable politicians in the zone who contributed at various capacities in the political cycle of not only funtua zone but katsina state in general.

Among them include the former chairman of defunct mahuta local government and member state house of Assembly of Dandume local government Alh Ibrahim jarumai mahuta,The former chairman malumfashi local government and for state house of Assembly Alh Dauda Karfi, the former commissioner and former member state Assembly from kafur local government Alh Kabir Barau Dankanjiba,and former member state Assembly from Faskari Alh Isah Abubakar faskari.

Others are Alh Bilya Danja,Alh shaaibu maigero kankara,Alh salisu maitaki Dandume,Kabir Alfah,samaila Gambo mtz, Yusuf Mohammed msw among others.

speaking at the meeting the DG of the organization Alh Idris Danliman said the essence of the meeting was to get to together and expressed their gratitude to Governor Dikko Umar Radda for his effort towards providing tangible progress to funtua zone.

Idris Danliman in addition said the meeting was also convine to discuss issues concerning political activities in the zone ahead of 2027 general election.

Elder Idris Danliman noted that the meeting has provided a forum for exchange of views on how to improve the political activities in the zone to the better by taking in to consideration the qualities of politicians in the zone to decide who to support for the over roll development of political empire of the zone.

The DG of the movement said there are silent achievers in the zone who are working hard to carry people along with respect and dignity and with the zeal of promoting the APC party affairs in the zone. L

He sighted example with the state commissioner for environment Alh Hamza Suleiman and Talban Musawa Alh Abdullahi Aliyu member representing matazu/ Musawa federal constituency as among the politicians with Sterling qualities for progress.

He thanked Governor Dikko Umar Radda for awarding the construction of some roads network in funtua, provision of federal university in funtua,and complition and take up of Dryport project in the zone.

In his remarks the former chairman defunct mahuta local government and for former state member Alh Ibrahim jarumai mahuta who is also the chairman of the movement said the political terrain of the zone needs to be checked to ensure that only those with political focus,vision and mission are supported to represent the zone come 2027.

Ibrahim jarumai mahuta called on all the political office holders in the zone both serving and retired to come forward and join hands with the organization to achieve the desired goal.

Also the former chairman malumfashi local government and former state Assembly member Alh Dauda Karfi and former commissioner and former state Assembly member From kafur Alh Kabir Barau Dankanjiba as well as the former state Assembly member from Faskari Alh Isah Abubakar faskari said the wambai house to house movement has rekindle their lost hope of meaningful political progress in the zone.

They said with commitment, working hard with trust and honesty the wambai house to house will reshape the political arena of the zone.

They said funtua zone is strong and capable of shaping the political climate of not only funtua zone but katsina state at large.

They opined that unless unprogressive politicians in the zone are change the desired political progress in the area will continue to be a mirage.

Others who spoke include Alh Bilya Danja, Alh Shu'aibu Maigoro, Alh salisu Maitaki,Kabir Alfah,samaila Gambo mtz, mustapha inuwa and Yusuf Mohammed msw among others called for more sanity in the political process.

They stressed the need for transparent ellections in electing representatives rather then selection.

They said such effort will sanitise the whole process and ensure that only credible candidates are representing the zone.

Gwamnan jihar Katsina Malam Dikko Umaru Radda ya sanar da ɗaukar ɗaliban kwalejin Isah Kaita da ke Dutsinma su 9 aiki da s**a fi yin fice.

Hakan ƙari ne ga wasu ɗaliban 2 da s**a fi zama masu da'a da za a ɗauke su aiki suma.

Gwamnan Dikko Radda shi ne ya ba hukumar kula da ilimin bai ɗaya ta jihar Katsina umarnin ɗaukar wannan ɗaliban aikin ba tare da ɓata lokaci ba.

Gwamnan ya ƙara da jaddada ƙoƙarinshi na bunƙasa kwalejin da ke zama ɗaya tilo mallakar jiha da ke bada horon malanta.

Malam Dikko Radda ya kuma yi alƙawarin gina hasumiyar hango nesa domin taimaka ma ayyukan samar da tsaro a kwalejin.

Tunda farko, saida shugaban makarantar Dr. Isma'il Ado Funtua ya bayyana buƙatar ganin an gina hasumiyar hango nesan a wasu mahimman wurare da ke kwalejin.
