SECRETARY GENERAL OF NIGERIA WITCHES AND WIZARDS, DIES AT AGE 65, IN EDO STATE

BreakingGist reports that the secretary general of Nigeria witches and wizard, Doctor Okhue Iboi, has died.

BreakingGist gathered that he died in the early hours of today, Sunday, May 12, 2024 at his home town in Otuo, Owan East Local Government Area, Edo State.
He was 65 years old.

The trado-medical practitioner who was originally born in Okpe, Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, lived in Lagos, using his herbal skills to administer treatment to patients who go for his service.

In a brief narrative with his wife on Sunday afternoon with Mr. Ayodele Oshikokhai, a Lagos based journalist, Okhue Iboi was said to have taken ill and he was moved down to the village for appropriate medical attention.

SUSPECTED PHONE THIEF STABS YOUNG WOMAN, SNATCHED HER PHONE, BUT LATER ARRESTED

A 24-year-old lady identified as Sheba Simon was stabbed by an unknown assailant suspected to be a phone thieve in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

The incident happened near Damaturu City College in Malali Byepass around 9:30pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

It was gathered that the victim, said to be a salesgirl, was on her way home from work when the attacker stabbed her with a knife and fled with her cell phone, leaving her in a pool of her blood.

According to reports, she was chatting with her phone after she dropped from a commercial tricycle and was trekking home when the miscreant ambushed her.

Fortunately, shop owners in the vicinity heard her screams and rushed to the scene.

They quickly took her to the Specialist Hospital Damaturu where she is currently responding to medical treatment.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday, April 30, said the police have deployed all available means to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to book.

“Recall, on 27th April 2024 at about 2130hrs, the victim, while on her way trekking back home to her resident at Malari bypass after closing from shop in Jerusalem area of Damaturu, on reaching Damaturu City Academy, a miscreant attacked and stabbed her with a locally made Jack knife on the lower back, forcefully whisked away with her cellphone,” the statement read.

"On arriving at the scene, the police response unit rushed her to the hospital and is currently receiving treatment at the Specialist Hospital, recuperating fast

"Meanwhile, the command has placed all available means to arrest the perpetrator and bring him to book.

"In this regard, the Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, enjoins members of the communities to be conscious of their surroundings from hoodlums lurking around.

“He however advised to always report suspicious movements of persons, vehicles or objects to the nearest police station or any security agency or formation. Meet Kwara Public School Student, Olukayode, Who Scored 362 In UTME

A student of a public secondary school, Government Secondary School, Omu Aran, Kwara State, Olukayode Victor Olusola, scored 362 marks in this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, to be among the contenders for the highest scorers in the examination.

Though the Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Prof. Isaq Oloyede, organisers of the exam, had said the Board would not announce the highest scorer to avoid last year’s experience of confusing claims, Olukayode’s score is celebratory, as it is among the highest in recent years.



He scored 95 marks each in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and 77 in English Language.

His exploit is coming against the backdrop of the poor performance of candidates in the exam in which 1.4 million scored less than 200 marks out of 400. The exam was taken by over 1.8 million candidates

Also, Olukayode’s excellent performance is coming at a time when confidence is greatly eroding in what public schools have to offer and some private schools are boasting of being the most expensive in the country.

Olukayode was born in 2009 and hopes to study Electrical Electronic at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State.

His mother, Beatrice Tosin, while giving all the honour to God, also praised the studious and hard working nature of her child.

24 YEARS OLD WOMAN KILLS HER ONE YEAR OLD SON, AFTER HER SON'S FATHER REJECTED THE CHILD

The Delta State Police Command, on Thursday, paraded a 24-year-old woman, Sofia Nkwo, for killing her one-year-old son.

Also paraded were a fake alcoholic producer, murder, kidnapping suspects, and car snatchers among others.

Parading the suspects at the police headquarters in Asaba, the Delta State capital, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Abaniwonda Olufemi, condemned the evil act perpetrated by the woman.

He said, “On April 28, 2024, a case of infanticide was reported at Oleh Division, that a suspect named Sofia Nkwor, 24, from Isoko South LGA, dumped her child of one year and four months old in a well along the road in Araya community Isoko South LGA.

“Children who went to play around the tree discovered the abandoned child floating on the well. The mother, Sofia Nkwor, was immediately arrested and she stated that she dumped the child on April 26, 2024.

“Also, on April 25, 2024, the command received an intelligence report about a suspect who produced fake alcoholic drinks in Bomadi.

“I directed the DPO Bomadi Division to work on the intel and ensure that the suspect is tracked down, arrested and brought to book.”

Olufemi noted that in compliance with his directive, the DPO Bomadi Division led operatives to the hideout where one Chiemenam Adigwe, 45, was arrested with over a hundred bottles of Gordons, Chelsea, Eagle Schnapps and McDowell recovered.

“A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect mixed ethanol with water and added flavour to it, then packaged these fake drinks in empty bottles of Gordons, Chelsea, and McDowell’s which he usually bought from Onitsha,” he said.

On the current kidnappings and killings in Ika North-East and Ika South areas of the state, where farmers are being kidnapped and killed by gunmen, Olufemi said the command had deployed personnel to the area.

“We are aware of the security situation in the Ika area of the state, and I have deployed personnel and directed the Area Commander to move into the area and comb the bushes.

“The command is also working with the Edo State Command because you know the area is the boundary between Delta and Edo states,” he added.

Confessing to the crime, Nkwo said she killed her son because she couldn’t care for the child again as the father rejected the child.

“I killed him because I can’t cater for him again since the father has long rejected him,” she said.

POLICE INSPECTOR CUTS WIFE'S HAND IN JOS, OVER 20,000 NAIRA

A Police Inspector whose name is yet to be ascertained has allegedly cut off his wife’s hand over what was confirmed as “a minor disagreement over N20,000”.

It was gathered that the said Inspector left the money at home in the D**g area of Jos North local government area of Plateau State and when he came looking for the money, an argument ensued leading to him turning violent.

The State Police Command confirmed that the suspect has been picked up and investigation is ongoing.

The Police Spokesman, DSP Alfred Alabo told Vanguard on the phone that the Command is aware of the incident saying, “We are aware of the incident, the man is an Inspector. Right now, he is at the State CID and the investigation is ongoing.

“He has a minor misunderstanding with his wife over some money. They had an argument over some N20,000 he kept in the house and he said he was looking for the money to do something and an argument ensued. The case is under investigation.”

However, the woman is hospitalized as a neighbour who didn’t want to be named said, “The wife is pregnant, she refused to give the man N3,000 from the N20,000. The argument was heated and before we knew it, the man cut off her hand. No one can say why he did that but we were concerned about her she was rushed to a hospital.”

Senior U.S. judge denies Bola Tinubu’s emergency appeal, orders CSU to turn over records to Atiku, testify under oath Monday afternoon

The ruling marks a major blow to Mr Tinubu and a progress for Mr Abubakar, who has been seeking the records to establish that the Nigerian president tnedered forged certificate.

President Bola Tinubu has lost his emergency application to block Chicago State University from releasing his academic records to Atiku Abubakar.

Judge Nancy Maldonado of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago said the decision of a lower federal magistrate judge on September 19 was appropriate and adopted it in full.

“The Court overrules President Tinubu’s objections to Magistrate Judge Gilbert’s recommended ruling, and therefore adopts the ruling in full. Mr Abubakar’s application is therefore granted,” the judge ruled. ‘In light of the pending Supreme Court of Nigeria deadline, represented to the court as October 5, 2023, and based on CSU’s representations that it is ready to comply with the discovery requests and produce a witness, the court sets an expedited schedule for completion of discovery.”

Ms Maldonado, a district judge, also said the CSU should turn over the records to Mr Abubakar by 12:00 p.m. Monday and also make its officials available for deposition to authenticate the documents by 5:00 p.m. on the same day.

The judge said any attempt by Mr Tinubu to appeal the judgement in the district would no longer be tolerated as Mr Abubakar must transfer the collected evidence to the Nigerian Supreme Court for use in an ongoing election petition case by October 5.
