THE STATE OF KADUNA STATE CHAPTER OF PMAN FROM 2009 After the demise of Roxy Al-kassim of the song ‘’I ke ni ke jira – Hadiza’’ fame; the then chairman, Kaduna state chapter of PMAN in 1999, also, coupled with the myriads of internal disagreements and rancor over the leadership of PMAN at the national level owing to the illegal national delegate conference held in Kaduna as organized by former PMAN president charley boy oputa in February 2006; accompanied by court litigations, the state chapter more or less died a natural death. Providence however showered smiles back on the chapter and faces of members in 2009 when the failed court judgment upheld the 28 November delegate conference held at Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, as against that organized in 2006 by charley boy who saw Mr. Rusoji through as president. As part of the reform agenda of the national working committee(NWC) which emerged from the uyo upheld delegate conference, state chapter were dissolved and care- taker committee put in place headed by chairman, to run the state chapter affairs for one year and put the chapter in order and organize credible election. To this effect, upon the dissolution of Kaduna state chapter executive in the same 2009, Mr Oizz .O. Ikhide was appointed chairman of Kaduna state chapter care- taker committee. His primary assignment was to restructure the state chapter and conduct a free and credible election; with Mr. Genesis B. Dauda the then state secretary working with them. Within three months, Mr. Oizz was able to rekindle light on the chapter and there was a reawakening of interest from members and to be members, and he handed over the baton of leadership to Mr. Livingstone Joseph on 15th Novermber, 2009 to run the affairs of the chapter from this date to 14th November 2010 in accordance to the provision of the pman constitution amended in 1999. On Monday 25th January 2010, Mr. Genesis .B. Danda who had since the early 1999 been acting secretary was relieved of his duty, conversely, Mr. Oizz .O. Ikhide as described in his appointment letter was appointed the state secretary purely on merits as well as his leadership quality to take over from the relieved Mr. Genesis. The state executive committee headed by Mr. Livingstone Joseph as chairman, Mr. Emma Emster ,first vice chairman, Mr. D-zed, second vice chairman amongst others who took over the manning of the state chapters affairs lapsed with November 2010 in accordance to PMAN constitutional one year tenure provision, being the duration of state chapter’s executive in office. In January 2011, the late Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq(Shalele) was appointed sole administrator and his primary assignment was to embark on membership revalidation, put the chapter into proper shape, then organize a free and credible election of the state chapter. Via positive songs composition, production and rendition/ the chapter played immense positive role in 2011 Nigeria general; particularly with the concept of one man one vote. Our songs were on the air wave’s i.e. Radio/Television during and after the said previous or the General election. Thus, our songs on the air waves became a handy tool in fostering peace as an imperative owing to the crises which gulped some parts of the country after the presidential election. In the second quarter of 2011, the administrator, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Shalele passed on due to a protracted ailment. His demise no doubt created a vacuum which must be filled. Hence, the appointment of Mr. Maxwell Omar Gabari as the state care taker committee to complete what his predecessor has started and conduct a free and credible election. The latter’s appointment was thus accompanied by number of committee members namely: Chairman: Mr. Maxwell Omar Gabari Vice Chairman: Mr. Tayo Omokayode Secretary: Mr. Adams Othman Piwullah Treasurer: Robert Sheila Oneh Publicity Secretary: Princely Soribe Provost: Napoleon Adugbo These people will run the chapter’s affairs till the next election month (October 2011) On the 11th of November, 2011, in an emergency meeting, the Kaduna state chapter’s secretary; Mr. Oizz O Ikhide was appointed PMAN acting secretary General. Accordingly the acting secretary general Mr. Oizz was appointed, ratified, adopted and unanimously confirmed as the PMAN substantive secretary general with effect from 29th November, 2011 by PMAN special delegate conference of the aforementioned day, at Akure. His appointment will bring forth huge revamping of his chapter, our chapter, this chapter of PMAN as well as opportunities to members/ musicians in this state and the empowerment of the northern zone at large. The facilitating of two members from Kaduna state chapter amongst the seven member committee appointed at the recent delegate conference serves as a living testimony. Currently, Mr. Adams Othman Piwullah (AKA Adams splendor) is the appointed substantive secretary, PMAN Kaduna state chapter. Thank you for taking your time to read this information.
