GOVERNOR MUTFWANG WELCOMES PDP GOVERNORS TO PLATEAU STATE

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, heartily welcomes delegates to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors' Forum meeting, holding in Jos, the PLATEAU State capital.

The forum will be chaired by His Excellency, Governor Bala Mohammed, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State.

The two-day event is scheduled as follows:

Friday, November 22, 2024: Welcome Dinner at the Banquet Hall, New Government House, Rayfield, Jos, at 6:30PM prompt.

Saturday, November 23, 2024: Governors' Meeting at the EXCO Chamber, New Government House, Rayfield, Jos, at 9:00 AM.

Matthew Tegha Elected Chairman of Plateau Bloggers and Online Media Association

Matthew Tegha has been elected as the new Chairman of the Plateau Bloggers and Online Media Association (PLABOMA). He will lead the association for a three-year term, alongside a team of newly elected executives.

Tegha, the immediate past deputy chairman of the association, succeeds Friday Bako, the outgoing chairman. The elections were held during PLABOMA's Annual General Congress at the association's secretariat in Jos on Wednesday.

Other elected executives include:
- Ibrahim Kalamu – Secretary
- Peter Akpa – Public Relations Officer
- Patience Tekura – Financial Secretary
- John Dauda – Auditor

Following the administration of the oath of office by Lohkat Binde, Esq., Matthew Tegha expressed gratitude to members for entrusting him with their mandate. He pledged to serve with dedication, transparency, and integrity.

In his acceptance speech, Tegha emphasized the transformative role of blogging and online media in society.
"Blogging and online media have become powerful tools in shaping society, bridging communication gaps, and driving positive change. As bloggers and digital media practitioners, we have the responsibility not just to inform but also to inspire and empower our communities," he stated.

Tegha outlined his vision for a progressive, inclusive association that promotes professionalism, collaboration, and innovation. He urged members to actively participate in association activities, contribute ideas, and uphold ethical standards to build a lasting legacy.

Outgoing Chairman Friday Bako congratulated the new executives, expressing confidence in their ability to lead the association to greater heights. Reflecting on his tenure as the pioneer chairman, Bako acknowledged the challenges and milestones achieved during his three years in office. He extended his support to the incoming team and urged them to manage the association’s resources prudently.

Commending the outgoing executives, Polycarp Auta, Chairman of the Correspondents' Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Plateau State Council, highlighted the importance of leadership and ethics in digital media. He encouraged the new executives to prioritize diligence, verify stories, and report in ways that promote unity and peace.

Auta also affirmed the NUJ Correspondents' Chapel’s continued support for PLABOMA in advancing its mission. Similarly, Bolaji Pedro of Jay FM Jos called on the association to prioritize the welfare and professional training of its members, describing the relationship between PLABOMA and the media as a partnership for progress.

With a strong vision and dedicated leadership, the new PLABOMA executives aim to elevate the association’s role as a credible voice for peace, professionalism, and societal development.

Jos: Fire Guts Katako Market Again

A fire outbreak has destroyed property worth millions of naira at Laranto Market in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

There have been recurring fire outbreaks at the market. Last year, a section of the market was engulfed by fire due to an electrical fault, resulting in destruction of goods, including vehicles.

The latest incident occurred around 11pm on Sunday after businesses had closed for the day.

It was learnt that people rushed to the market at night to help put out the fire.

Alhaji Idris Shehu, the chairman of the market, told newsmen that the fire had engulfed goods worth millions of naira, adding that the cause of the incident was still unknown.

4. A penalty is given if a player swears on god.
5. The chubby person becomes the goalkeeper 😝.
6. If the ball owner gets angry, he take the ball, and the game is over 😁.
7. The fouls is counted if everyone agrees 🙃.
8. The wal is a good player and can be in your team side at any time 😁.
9. An extra player is allowed if the teams are not equal 😂
10. Goalkeepers can be changed during a penalty kick 😆.
11. If the ball goes over the crossbar, the game pauses for half an hour to discuss whether it's a goal or not 😄.
12. The ball owner plays for the stronger team 😝.

Hon. Gwottson shared his personal experience with the training, having received and put it to practice, citing remarkable results.

"As a commercial farmer, I stopped farming maize years ago due to consistent losses. However, after discovering this organization's efficient methods, I experimented and saw the impact firsthand. So I decided to sponsor this training to empower our local farmers," he said.
