Dorothy Jane Scott, vanished on May 28, 1980, in Anaheim, California. On that day, she had driven two co-workers to the hospital, one of whom had been bitten by a spider.
While waiting for a prescription to be filled, Scott went to retrieve her car to meet them.
As her car approached, it swiftly sped away, its headlights blinding them, making it impossible to see who was driving.
They reported her missing a couple of hours later when they hadn't heard from her.
In the months leading up to her disappearance, Scott had been receiving unsettling anonymous phone calls from a man who allegedly stalked her.
The caller had menacingly threatened to trap her and cut her up into bits so no one will ever find her.
In June 1980, an individual contacted The Orange County Register, a local newspaper that had reported on the disappearance, confessing to the murder of Scott.
Police believe the caller was the perpetrator responsible for the crime.
Between 1980 and 1984, Scott's mother also received phone calls from a man asserting to have Scott or to be her killer.
Partial remains, identified as Scott's, were discovered in August 1984. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection to Scott's case.
