welcome to old school throwback! Shaibu Adamz, a.k.a One Black Reverend is an indigene of Igala, Kogi State born in Olodi, apapa area of Lagos State. A graduate of foundations and psychology from the University of Lagos, his love for music started way back from childhood. In the early 90s, he joined a band called One bad Crew. He later teamed up with two members of the erstwhile group, Pretty Busy
Boys to form Hard cord Crew but the group soon split and he teamed up with Wesley to form the duo, Black Rev’rendz. In 1999, the duo released its first album with the monster hit, Ayangba that won them an FMA Award for the song of the Year, 2000. But the decision for further studies saw the group go into the cooler until 2007 when after completing his national youth service, himself and his friend (still under the name, Black Rev’rendz) again released another album titled No Be God? but because of irreconcilable difference with the record label, Sol Record, the album was not promoted and the group eventually broke up. Presently under the label, Penthouse Musiq which is owned by One Black Reverend himself, he is back to the studio doing some recording. He is working with some established names as well as up-and-coming acts in the industry. Treasure Key, Ruthless and Emoh are some of the up-and-coming acts he hopes to launch into the limelight with his album. Other established names that featured on the yet to be released album include Faze, Pastor Goody-goody, 2-Face, el-Dee Da Don, Banky W, Josh and Kwam 1. Already, first solo single, Skele is fast becoming a favourite on air, with a video to support the track. He was also a cast in AMBO 5 called Aliero Symphony where he stared as Chinedu Mbanefo. The first solo album is expected to be out before the end of the year and according to the artiste, “It will be a surprise to a lot of critics
