Likewise, when man is disconnected from *GOD*, he dies.
*GOD* is our natural environment. We were created to live in *His* presence. We must be connected to *Him* because it is only in *Him* our life exists.

In my meeting with God this morning. Baba was teaching me to begin to see the world through JESUS. Of course this is what I thought my lifestyle is until this morning when He began to open my eyes the more through His Word. He reminded me of what my Biology teacher told me during my Secondary school days about microscope. The teacher said I could see even organisms that are not visible to the eyes if I look through a microscope.
God told me that if I look at the world through JESUS, I will see that the world is actually small and this will help me to handle it the way it is.
This has become a fire🔥 in my spirit and I felt this is not just for me. This is why I am sharing it with you. If I may ask you sir, what are those things looking big in your eyes? What is that challenge or even problem that has magnified itself before you? Could it be how to meet some needs in the family, could it be issues around your marriage? Could it be your health or finance? Name it, it is actually small or even nothing, only if you can look at it through Jesus.
The problem of the Ten of the Spies sent by Moses was that they saw the Giants with their own eyes. If they had looked at the Giants through the Rock (Christ) who followed them, the Giants would actually have been seen as ordinary ants🐜. May the Peace of the Lord rule your heart as you journey in this world in Jesus' name - Jide

From the last study
"When I refused to confess"
This is speaking of the dangers of unconfessed sin.
* My body wastes away. verse 3 (NLT). * Misrable and Frustration experience. verse 3 (TLB) * Punishment day and night. Verse 4(GNB). * God's hands of displeasure will be invited. Verse 4 (Amp) *The juices of one's life shall be dried up. Verse 4 (Msg). What the implications of the above mentioned points?
- When the juices of a man's life dries up, it means the sweet part of that life is gone. No one desires it again. May that not be our portion. If that happens to a business man, he will put in place all the marketing strategies but no one will patronize him. If it happens to a man in the Ministry no one will love to listen to him.
- When God punishes a man day and night, it is not something to be desired. Punishment brings pain, it brings discomfort. Cain lamented in Genesis 4-13, after God pronounced His punishment, "And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear"
- God's hand of displeasure is not something to joke with. When it came upon. God puts a mark upon Cain so that no one will kill him. God wants him to live long so suffer long the consequences of his sin. When God's hand of displeasure is upon an individual, he cannot find favour from any man.
The way out
"I acknowledged my sin unto thee, And mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; And thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin." Psalm 32:5 KJV.
The only way out is for us to confess our sins unto the Lord. If we confess and forsake, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all our transgressions.

UNCONFESSED SIN
"1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no guile.
3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old Through my roaring all the day long.
4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: My moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, And mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; And thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin."
WHO COVERS SIN ?
The Bible record shows us that sin can either be covered by two persons: Man and God.
Man: Proverbs 28:13 13 "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper:But whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy."
God: Verse 1 and 2 of the text above show to us that God also covers the sin of man.
Whereas it is a serious danger when man tries to cover his sin. It is like a man trying to cover a time bomb under his garment. Such a man is on a su***de mission. By the time what he is trying to cover explodes, the effect may be unrepairable. A man who covers his sin on a mission for the devil. (We shall treat the dangers later.) If you will allow me to counsel you, I will tell you not to try to cover your sin. It is dangerous.
When God on the other hand covers a sin, that sin is covered permanently. In fact, it is as if such has never committed any sin at all in the first place.
Psalm 32:3-5 "When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long. 4 Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. 5 Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord." THE GIVING OF ABRAHAM (Genesis 18)
" And the Lord appeared unto him in the plain of Mamre: and he sat in the the tent door in the hit of the day"
THE LORD APPEARED UNTO HIM
This must be the experience of anyone who wants to practice the giving of Abraham. Anyone who has not experienced God appearing to him can't in anyway practice the giving which Abraham practiced. For any man who doesn't have that first and most crucial experience, his focus will be on self, me and mine. Such a man will never think of fellow human being he could see not to speak of God he doesn't see. A man without that basic experience will see all that he has as his own. He will think he has got all he has by his own effort.
This is the thinking of the rich fool. He was full of I, and me. There was no place or space for God in his plan. The only reason for this is that God has not appeared to him. The appearance we are speaking about goes beyond what we see in chapter18 of Genesis. His encounter with the Lord even preceded chapter 12. He had left everything to obey God. He left his father's house, his people and his country. He gave his life completely to God. This is the beginning point.
Has God appeared to me? If yes, have I given Him my life? When God appeared unto Abraham in that chapter 18, Abraham took a further step of welcoming God into his house. His song that day was " Pass me not o gentle saviour..." Can I speak the truth to you, you can claim you have given God your life and you find difficult to give your substances to Him. Something is seriously wrong somewhere with your claim if you say the Lord is your Lord and you cannot give Him your resources. To be continued

THE POWER OF HOPE - Jeremiah 29-11

" I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the FUTURE YOU HOPE FOR."

As a Christian, one of the powerful scriptures that affects my life most is the one quoted above. In it, I see how my hope affects my life and destiny. I see that I can never be, in any way, better than my hope. I see that my prayer is not the main determinant of my future. My fasting and spiritual disciplines are not really the main factors that will determine my future, but my hope. God says He will give me the future I HOPE FOR, not the one I pray or fast for. This opens my eyes to see that I can not really pray or fast for what I do not hope for. This is how my hope affects my prayer life
As a son of God, I pray to God to help my 'hope life.' I see that I can't hope for it and I will not pray for it. When I hope for it, I wait for it.

Verse 12 of that the above scriptures says "Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you"

Not the arrangement from verse 11 to 12
* You hope for a future
* You call upon me
* You pray unto me
* I, God will hearken unto you.

Friend, do not lose hope. Depression comes as soon as hope is lost. Things fall apart immediately hope is gone. The devil takes over once hope disappears. Has God promised you a thing? Hope for it for it will surely come in His time. Don't allow the devil to tamper with your hope. Your entire life depends on it. It is the activator of even your faith and praying life. There is a future for you. Hope for it, pray for it and the Lord shall deliver it unto you. Amen.

"ABOVE ONLY"
As we close the year 2017, as I pray to know what God has for me and my family, I heard God said, "ABOVE ONLY." Hearing such from the Lord brings excitement and joy. So I went to Deuteronomy 28 to bring out the relevant scripture for our family confession of faith.
Hmmm! "CONFESSION OF FAITH" is very good. Almost all churches print stickers to paste on their Bibles, doors, cars and what have you. The question in my heart is that, can these positive confessions only, bring the desired results? Many have been confessing for years and they are now in confusion because of frustration. The reason is that, our leaders do not systematically teach our people how the confessions can work. The principle that cannot be broken in the word of of God is "and whatsoever he does shall prosper." It is what he DOES and not what he SAYS that shall prosper. WELL DONE is far better than WELL SAID. Instead of our leaders to show us the practical things to do and motivate us to lay our hands on them, they organize days of vigils only to claim the prophesy for the year. Some even put prayer time at the times people should be at work. Those people end up losing their customers and their jobs as the case may be.
What is the place of confession and prayer in our being above only? Prayer and faith confession is like water needed to water our seeds. If our prayer for prosperity and wonderful confessions don't meet any seed in the soil, our lives will only grow weeds and erosion may also be inevitable. What you do with your hands is a seed that your confessions and prayer need to bring result. Without putting your hands to work, your confession will only result to confusion and frustration. May we be wise!

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that HE IS and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. ( Hebrews 11:6 )

There are TWO important things the devil loves to attack in the lives of those who come to God or seek Him.
1. The devil loves to attack your believe that HE IS.
You may not have problem believing that HE WAS. You believe those things you read about God, how he answered people's prayer in the Bible. You may not also have problem with what God will do in the future. You believe so much that God will do wonders in the future. Yes the devil may not attack that. But the greatest attack he launches on your faith is for you to disbelieve what God can do now.
Do you believe HE IS able to do that miracle in your life? That HE IS able to give you the fruit of the womb? That HE IS able to give you a sound health? That HE IS able to reliever you from sin? Just trust Him. HE IS...
2. HE IS A REWARDER. This is another thing the devil will also love to attack. He wants to paint God wicked in your eyes. He wants you to see and say that you are serving and seeking this God in vain. He may even come to you in your quiet moment to ask if you can point to any good that your seeking and serving God has brought to your life.
Friend, keep seeking Him. Keep serving Him. Do not quit when your reward is around the corner. It is well with your soul in Jesus' name.

False Prophets and Empty Oracles
I HAVE NOT SENT THEM YET THEY RUN
The greatest evil that can happen to any man is to be successful in a wrong assignment like someone said. In Jeremiah 23:21, the Loss said, "I have not sent these prophets, yet the run..." Please note. The Bible did not say they went. But they RUN. This tells us the energy they put into it. It tells us the degree of urgency in their hearts. It tells us how passionate they are in doing wrong assignment.
'Yet they RUN'. hey run programs, ministries and churches in the name of the Lord.

Lord my earnest prayer is this: help me to understand your mind more and more as regards why I am born and born again. Help me to walk with you all the days of my journey here. Do not allow me to do what you have not sent me here to do. Do not allow me to run the race you have not set before me. Help me to run the one you have set before me faithfully in Jesus name. Amen.

THE LAMENTATION OF GOD
My heart within me is broken Because of the prophets; All my bones shake. I am like a drunken man, And like a man whom wine has overcome, Because of the Lord, And because of His holy words. For the land is full of adulterers; For because of a curse the land mourns. The pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up. Their course of life is evil, And their might is not right. “For both prophet and priest are profane; Yes, in My house I have found their wickedness,” says the Lord. “Therefore their way shall be to them Like slippery ways; In the darkness they shall be driven on And fall in them; For I will bring disaster on them, The year of their punishment,” says the Lord. “And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria: They prophesied by Baal And caused My people Israel to err. Also I have seen a horrible thing in the prophets of Jerusalem: They commit adultery and walk in lies; They also strengthen the hands of evildoers, So that no one turns back from his wickedness. All of them are like S***m to Me, And her inhabitants like Gomorrah. “Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets: ‘Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, And make them drink the water of gall; For from the prophets of Jerusalem Profaneness has gone out into all the land.’” Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They make you worthless; They speak a vision of their own heart, Not from the mouth of the Lord. They continually say to those who despise Me, ‘The Lord has said, “You shall have peace”’; And to everyone who walks according to the dictates of his own heart, they say, ‘No evil shall come upon you.’” For who has stood in the counsel of the Lord, And has perceived and heard His word? Who has marked His word and heard it? Behold, a whirlwind of the Lord has gone forth in fury— A violent whirlwind! It will fall violently on the head of the wicked. The anger of the Lord will not turn back Until He has executed and performed the thoughts of His heart. In the latter days you will understand it perfectly. “I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran. I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in My counsel, And had caused My people to hear My words, Then they would have turned them from their evil way And from the evil of their doings. “Am I a God near at hand,” says the Lord, “And not a God afar off? Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the Lord; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord. “I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name, saying, ‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’ How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Indeed they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart, who try to make My people forget My name by their dreams which everyone tells his neighbor, as their fathers forgot My name for Baal. “The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; And he who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat?” says the Lord. “Is not My word like a fire?” says the Lord, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces? “Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” says the Lord, “who steal My words every one from his neighbor. Behold, I am against the prophets,” says the Lord, “who use their tongues and say, ‘He says.’ Behold, I am against those who prophesy false dreams,” says the Lord, “and tell them, and cause My people to err by their lies and by their recklessness. Yet I did not send them or command them; therefore they shall not profit this people at all,” says the Lord.

"...but money answers all things"

Money is a very strong force. It is a very powerful treasure. In our world till today, anyone who has money becomes very important. He becomes attractive to all. Every one loves to be his friend. All loves to be associated with him. It does not matter how young he is, someone who is old enough to be his grandfather will be willing and ready to 'lick his shoes' if money will come out of it. When you hear people saying someone has 'arrived' , money is what they are talking about. When you hear them saying that God has blessed a man, what they are speaking about is money. Money is even the basis for judging how powerful a man is. Recently, the list of the 'most powerful people' in the world was released. They said our own Aliko Dangote is one of them. What do you think is their criterion? Money! Lack of money is responsible for the disappearance of love, joy and happiness in many homes. Some homes are still 'standing' today because money is the leg upon which they stand. Let money walk away, you will see such homes crumbling.

Recently I began to meditate on Ecclesiastics 10: 19
("...but money answers all things")
Many teachers of the Bible who are religious but not spiritual have explained it away. They said it was the thought of Solomon. They said that because of sentiment. They do not take time to ask what the Lord is saying to us here. Could it be the thought of Solomon when the Bible testifies that all scriptures are given through the divine inspiration?

Let me explain this way, in an organization, who is the one you think answers every one? Yes! You answer right. The messenger! Anyone in the company can call him and send him on errand. He answers all. This same way, God expect us to see money as a messenger. God expects us to see money not more than a servant. Don't see it as an answer to all things. But let it answer(be a servant to) all things. Money should say 'yes sir' to us, not the other way round.

I may not be able to continue this teaching, but I pray the Holy Spirit will give you understanding beyond this page. May you not see money as an answer. May God open your eyes to see it as a servant that answer all things.

Do you know it your needs that should call for money and money will answer. Money is not supposed to call for a need in your life. I pray again, the Lord will give you understanding. When you become a servant of money, it is things in your life that will answer money. Money will be callings for them. That is why you see yourself going to to a shop and your see the money in your hand calling for things you don't need and you ended up buying them. How foolish are you! You have now become a slave to money. May God deliver us. If you listen well, someone's need is calling for the money in your hand right now, will you allow the money to answer? God bless you. Amen.

As I study Judges 6, the Lord focused my attention on verse 11 where an angel of the LORD visited Gideon and without Gideon offering seat to the angel, the angel went straight to sit under the oak that belonged to Gideon's father.

Hmmm! The Holy Spirit begins to show me that the reason why the Lord would not visit us in our days is because we have uprooted the 'oak trees' that the fathers of faith handed over to us. The oaks of UNITY, LOVE, RIGHTEOUSNESS, HOLINESS and so on, have fallen in our time. This is why we lack God's visitation in our days

I wonder why the angel did not sit in the open where there was heat. Why under a tree, a cool place? There is always no heat under a tree. It is always cool and refreshing. I now see that God does not dwell where there is heat. When you see a home where the husband and the wife are making live hot for one another, the Lord cannot sit in that kind of home. In a church where the elders and pastor are making it hot for themselves, you can't see Got sitting in such a church. You can see beautiful decorations, fine musical instruments and beautiful songs from choir and you will want to mistake all of that for the presence of God. No! Where there is the absence of God, no other thing can replace it. Is that not the reason why our services these days remain ordinary routine.

Can I ask you friend, Is your life not too hot for the Lord to sit in? Is this your lifestyle not making the atmosphere of your life too hot for the Lord to dwell? Why don't you forsake sin today? Why don't you come to Jesus genuinely today? As a husband, why will you continue to make your home hot for your wife? Why will you not replant the oak of love that had been long uprooted in your home?

May the Holy Spirit continue this word in your heart in Jesus name. Amen.

(THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH
(But Jesus paid it all, Hallelujah)

God created man in His image and put man in the garden. We must not forget that the source of man is God-what makes man a living soul is God.

The devil came to disconnect man from his Source. Eaten the forbidden fruit is actually not an end in itself, but a means to get man disconnected from his source so that man will die. This is because any creature of God disconnected from its source dies automatically. Take fish out of water and you will not need extra effort to kill it. Put goat inside river and with time, it becomes dead. Get yourself disconnected from from your source(God) and you are dead. This death is not what the Bible calls"returning to the ground" in Gen. 3:19.

When Adam and his wife sinned, the began to hide. God said WHERE ARE YOU? Adam said I heard your voice and I hide myself among the trees. Hmm! Sin may not prevent you from hearing God. Could God be calling you too? Has God begin to wonder where you could be? Has he checked you among the holy but found your sit vacant? Have you left the place of consecration and God is wondering where are you.

Adam hid himself among the trees. Where are you hiding yourself now? Do you think you can hide among church workers to deceive God? Do you think think you can run to another church to go and hide and you think it will solve your problem? Running to anther town to hide is not the solution. Come back your source. Come back to God. Come to Jesus now.

THE WAGES OF SIN
What the sin of man needs for its remittance is death-the shielding of blood. That was why before the fullness of time, God made a remedial arrangement to atone for the sin of man. That was why there was the killing of rams, goats, and some other animals on yearly basis. (Lev. 16:15-19, Heb. 915-22)

However, at the fullness of time which Hod had set, God sent His son, Jesus Christ to die for the sin of mankind. His death makes and marks the payment of the wages that sin committed by man demands. The soul that sins must dies. He must pay that wages to be free. This is beyond what man can do by himself. That is why Jesus took our place. He paid the wages. He died in our stead. He shed the blood that speaks better thing. The blood speaks FORGIVENESS, MERCY, GRACE, COMPASSION, PEACE and so one. Will you come under the blood today? Do you want to be free from sin today? All you need do is to believe what Jesus had done for you on the cross. Believe He died on your behalf and God rose raised Him. Confess His as the Lord of your life and make a decision to live for Him and follow from now on. You are blessed.

HANDLING THE STORMS OF LIFE (part 4)

Steps unto Overcoming the Storms of life (continuation)

On Jide Odeniyi page yesterday, I discussed two practical steps to overcome the storms of life as we press the study further from the book of Jonah chapter 1. These steps are: Prayer and Casting away the loads into the sea. Today, we shall be looking at the last step which is:

3. Locate the Jonah in your boat and deal with 'him'
Psalm 1:1 tells us the danger of keeping company with wrong people. Jonah his in the boat sleeping and snoring. He contributed nothing to the progress of the people on board. When everyone was losing their belongings to the storm, Jonah had nothing to lose.
The Jonah you need to deal with may some people in your life. You also know that your company with them will end you in destruction. Until Abraham got separated from Lot, he never stepped into the fulfilment of God's purpose for his life. May I ask you this question? Are you serious about fulfilling God's purpose for your life? Then deal with all identified Jonahs in your ship. They will ruin your life and destiny if you refuse to deal with them.

Is it easy to deal with 'Jonah' ? NO! Looking at the verse 13 of Jonah 1 closely, will find that the captain of the ship pitied Jonah. So he tried to push and push the ship may be the could still make it with Jonah inside. He didn't want Jonah to die. However, all his efforts were in futility until Jonah was dealt with. You also may be pitying the Jonah in your boat. God might have told you to get out of that church,but you pity the pastor. God maybe telling you to break that courtship but you pity the brother/sister, saying where will he he start from. You have a choice to make between your life and keeping a company that will hinder you from fulfilling the purpose of Gos for your life.
Mind you, your wife or husband CAN NEVER be a 'Jonah' in your boat. So do not cast him/her away. God bless you.

HANDLING THE STORMS OF LIFE (part 2)
The Beauty of Storms

"Then the mariners were afraid, and cries every man unto his god..."

What gives me joy is that storms of life expose our true heart. It was the storm that makes us to know that the people on board were having their individual gods. Without the storm, we would be tempted to think that everyone is serving the living God.
If storm strikes now, who will you cry to? Will your true god not be known? Will we not be disappointed at where you will direct your prayer? Are you sure you serving the living God?

The Pains of Storms

"Then the mariners were afraid and cried and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them" -Jonah 1:5

1. Storm Causes Fear.
When storm comes, of comes with fear; fear of death and loss. People begin to ask, "is this going to be the end?" There is a loss of hope. But the truth is, fear cannot solve any problem. No one has ever overcome his/her storm through fear, worry or anxiety.

2. Storm Causes Tears
"Then the mariners were afraid and cried"
Storm makes people to cry and shed tears. The wet their pillows with bitter tears as the cry secretly. I have a good News for you that, your season of tear is over. The Lord is wiping off your tears and is filling your mouth with laughter. Your morning of joy is here in the name of Jesus Christ.

3. Storm Causes Loss.
"Then the mariners were afraid...and CAST FORTH THE WARES THAT WERE IN THE SHIP INTO THE SEA, TO LIGHTEN IN..."
The people on board began to throw their belongings into the ship. Why? They thought by doing so, the storm will be over. That looks like the picture of some people's lives. They have thrown away their precious future thinking it would bring solution to their storms. Some young men cast their precious destinies into cultism, robbery, alcoholism, drugs and some other vices. If you ask them why, they'll tell the storm of financial hardship is hitting them hard. The story is not different with ladies too. Many of them turn to commercial s*x workers to find solution to their storms. I want to ask you, is throwing away your future the solution to any kind of storm?
Let me be clear to you that, you can never overcome your storm by throwing away your precious destiny. But I pray for you if there be anything you have lost to storms of life, the Lord will restore you hundred folds in Jesus' name. Amen.

HANDLING THE STORMS OF LIFE (Part 1)
I will like you to, please read the book of Jonah. This is where we shall be taking our study from.

Studying that scripture, we will see that storms don't just come. There must be a cause. If, therefore, you find yourself in the storm of any kind, don't just conclude that it is a test of faith or may be it is sponsored by the devil. Truly, the devil may be behind some storm and some may come our ways as a test of faith. But, like what we see in the book of Jonah, many are the causes of their storms.

The storm we see in the book of Jonah came as a result of Jonah's disobedience to God's instruction. Friend, may be I should ask you, what is responsible for this storm you are in?. Could it be because of your disobedience to God's instruction?. Could it be that you are going in the opposite direction of God's purpose for your life?

God sent storm to bring Jonah back to track. May you also hear God speaking through you through the storm He sends your way.

For those who were on board with Jonah, the storm did not come to them as a result of disobedience. They tasted storm because the companied with some whom God was angry with. They companied with a fool who thought he could run away from the presence of God. Proverbs 13:20 says: "He that walk with wise men shall be wise but the companion of fool shall be destroyed." Psalms 1:1 says: "Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands not in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful"

What are we pointing to here? Be careful who you walk, stand and/or sit with. It determines a lot about you life and destiny.
