Oxlade signs new deal with Columbia Records

Weeks after a leaked s3x tape, singer Oxlade, has bounced back.

The singer signed a new deal with Epic Records and Columbia records UK.

He announced this via his official Twitter handle.

Oyo police confirms killing of ex-Iyalode’s daughter

Oyo State Police command has confirmed the killing of Alhaja Fatimah Awolesu, the only surviving daughter of the immediate past Iyalode of Ibadan land, Alhaja Aminat Abiodun.

She was killed by some yet to be identified gunmen in her residence, at the Bashorun area of Ibadan.

The State Police command has now confirmed her death.

The command in a reaction sent to iRoc by Adewale Osifeso, its Police Public Relations Officer, said that the body of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue.

He said, “The unfortunate demise of Alhaja Fatima Awolesu ‘f’ was reported by a family associate to the Police on Wednesday 09/03/2022.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was attacked at her Bashorun residence by unknown assailants who also inflicted bodily wounds on her.

“Crime Scene Investigators have been immediately deployed to Crime Scene for detailed forensic processes and thorough investigations.

“Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the State Morgue.

“Updates regarding the incident and investigations would be made available in due course, please.”

Young Thug Reveals when He Plans To Retire From Rap

Young Thug has revealed when he plans to call it quits with hip hop. In a new interview with Billboard’s Carl Lamarre for the publication’s latest Cover story, The Georgia native opened up about his retirement plans.

Thug, who is 30 and still atop of his game says he doesn’t intend to keep rapping in about 15 years from now.

“I just don’t want to be a certain age and still rapping,” He explained. “I’d rather start doing a different thing. It ain’t even about nobody else, it’s just about me and my integrity and how I want to be looked at. Why would I be 45 or 50 years old trying to record albums? When I’m 50 years old, I know 80% of the world is motherfking 15 to 24. What the fk am I trying to make an album at 50 for?”

He continued “Why? I’ll sell a song to Chanel when I’m 45 or 50. I’ll send three or four songs to Balmain. As far as trying to rap, f-ck no, I ain’t doing it. It’s not [that I have] a problem with it, it’s a problem with me doing it. I don’t want to do it at that point. I got other business and other sh-t to be doing. I got kids that gonna need more attention from me in 10 years.”

It’s natural for artist as they get older to want to explore more opportunities away from music, however Gunna, who was also being interviewed, responded to Thug’s retirement plans saying, “I don’t want him to stop no time soon.”

Police arrest 15 suspects With Hard Drugs In Delta

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command’s Raiders Squad in conjunction with Raiders Volunteer Corp have arrested 15 suspects with hard drugs in their possession.

The suspects were arrested by the police during a raid on several black spots at Animeli road by Panama junction and Kevin Road both in Sapele.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe who confirmed the report in a statement said the Police recovered 15 grams of substances suspected to be co***ne, one compressed sack of a substance suspected to be Indian h**p, seven packets of tramadol, 12 syringes, four CSP codeine syrup bottles, two crushers, some items suspected to be charms, one cooler soaked with suspected Indian h**p popularly known as ‘monkey tail’, one grinder and 20 packets of rizzlas from the suspects.

He however said investigation is ongoing.

Court fixes March 23 to hear FG’s request to extradite Abba Kyari

A Federal High Court in Abuja fixed March 23, to hear an application by the Federal Government seeking for the suspended DCP Abba Kyari’s extradition to the United States (U.S).

iRoc had, on March 3, reported that the Federal Government, through the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), filed the application marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/249/2022.

The suit, titled: “Application for the Extradition of Abba Alhaji Kyari to the United States of America,” was dated and filed March 2.

While the AGF is the applicant, Kyari is the respondent in the application.

Kyari was formerly the head of Inspector-General of Police special Intelligence Response Team (IRT).

The matter, which was assigned to Justice Inyang Ekwo by the Chief Judge of FHC, Justice John Tsoho, has been fixed for March 23 for hearing.

The application was filed under the Extradition Act, as part of Nigerian government’s approval of the request by the U. S. for Kyari’s extradition.

The application, which was directly addressed to the chief judge, hinted that a request was made to Nigeria by Diplomatic Representative of the Embassy of the United States of America (USA), Abuja, for the surrender of Kyari who Is a subject in a superseding three counts indictment in case no: 2:21-cr-00203-RGK.

The AGF, Abubakar Malami, said the case was filed on April 29, 2021, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, USA.

Malami said that Kyari was to answer to a three-count charge.

“Count one: Conspiracy to commit wire fraud in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 1349, ll.

“Counts two: Conspiracy to commit money laundering in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 1956(h)
“Count three: Aggravated identity theft and aiding and abetting, in violation of Title 18 U.S.C, Sections 1028A (a){1}j and 2(a),” he said.

According to the AGF, the punishment for the offences as contained In the superseding Indictment carries a maximum of 20 years imprisonment for count one, 20 years imprisonment for count two and two years imprisonment for count three consecutive to any other sentence imposed respectively as contained in the various United States laws.

Malami said:”there is no death sentence imposed on the offences for which the suspect is accused.”

He said the application was in line with the requirement of the Extradition Act, CAP E25, LFN, 2004.

He argued that the offence for which the suspect is accused of is extraditable offence under Articles 3 (18 & 20) of the Extradition Treaty between the United States of America and Great Britain, signed at London, on December 22,1931.

He said the treaty is recognised as binding on the Federal Republic of Nigeria, by legal Notice 33 of 1967.
He said the offences are also covered by Articles 3, 5 and 6 of the United Nations Convention Against Transnational Organised Crime, adopted November 15, 2000 (“The UNTOC”).

Malami said that the the offence charged in count three is considered a separate serious crime, covered under Article 16(2) of the UNTOC.

He said besides that the offences for which Kyari is accused are extraditable, they are also punishable under the Nigerian laws.

“The offence is analogous to the offence in Sections 1, and 8 of the Advance Fee Fraud Act and Other Related Offences 2006.

“Now, I, Abubakar Malami, SAN, Honourable Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, by this application, under my hand, signify to you that this request has been made, and require you to deal with the case in accordance with the provisions of the Extradition Act, Cap. E25, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

“In support of this application, I attach an affidavit together with the Exhibits thereto, deposed to by Henry Temeka, Nigerian, male, Higher Executive Officer, Central Authority Unit, International Cooperation Department, Federal Ministry of Justice, Abuja,” the application read.

iRoc reports that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) had, on Monday, arraigned Kyari, alongside six others, including four officers of IRT, on an eight-count charge bordering on alleged drug trafficking before Justice Emeka Nwite of FHC, Abuja.

The four members of the IRT, in the charge, marked: FHC/ABJ/57/2022, include ACP Sunday J. Ubia, ASP Bawa James, Insp. Simon Agirigba and Insp. John Nuhu.

Other defendants in the charge are Chibunna Patrick Umeibe and Emeka Alphonsus Ezenwanne, the two alleged drug traffickers that were arrested at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu.

Although Kyari and the four police officers denied their involvement in the matter, Umeibe and Ezenwanne pleaded guilty to the counts preferred against them.

Justice Nwite, who ordered that Kyari and others be remanded in NDLEA custody pending the hearing of their bail application on March 14, also fixed March 28 for the review of facts in the charges filed against Umeibe and Ezenwanne, who pleaded guilty.

Snoop Dogg Calls Out Photographer Suing Nas Over 2Pac’s Photo

Nas became the subject of a law suit from photog Al Pereira, after he shared what he considered was a harmless photo of himself and 2pac on his Instagram account.

Pereira, who took the photo in 1993 claims Nas decreased the value of the image by posting it without permission on Instagram , but Snoop isn’t with it. The veteran rapper believes Nas has equal claim to the photo because he’s one of the subjects of it.

“How is a muthaf**ka suing Nas for a picture he in?” Snoop asks in a video uploaded on Instagram. “You f**kin’ photographers done lost y’all rabbit ass minds muthaf**ka. When you take a picture of a n-gga, that picture ain’t yours. That’s some near likeness situation. You’re borrowing my likeness.

“How you gonna sue Nas for a picture that he in? We need some new laws to help us as artists, man, because there’s a bunch of muthaf**kas selling pictures with my face on it and I don’t get s**t ’cause they took the picture.”

According to Radar Online, Nas re-uploaded the photo to his personal Instagram account in 2020, three years after Pereira registered copyright for it. Pereira is suinh for unspecified damages and an injunction against Nas for using his work.

Three bandits, soldier escape from army custody in Kogi

Three bandits, including a soldier, have escaped from army custody at Chari Maigumeri Barracks, Lokoja, Kogi State.

iRoc gathered that the incident happened on Sunday night when Lokoja witnessed its first rain.

According to a source in the army, who did not want his name mentioned, the source said the army has intensified effort to recapture the escaped bandit and the soldier.

” The Army is making frantic effort to arrest the four suspects. From what we learnt, the soldier was seen with a rifle as he aided the escape of the three bandits. The Soldier was moved from Maiduguri to Lokoja when he resisted fighting Boko haram insurgents.

“He has been in our cell here, waiting for when he will be tried. Unfortunately, when it rained heavily on Sunday, the Soldier used the opportunity to escape when officers on duty were asleep. As I speak to you, the army has mounted surveillance in every entry and exit point of Kogi State to ensure the escapees are re-arrested,” he said.

The Public Relations Officer, Command Army Record, Chari Maigumeri Barracks, Lieutenant David Adewusi said he is not aware of the incident and can’t make any comment.

Police arraign man, 45, over alleged N3.5m land fraud

The Police on Wednesday arraigned a 45-year-old man, Matthew Okonkwo, before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, over alleged N3.5 million fraud.

Okonkwo, of no fixed residential address, is facing a two-count charge of fraud and stealing.

The prosecutor, ASP Clement Okuiomose, told the court that the defendant committed the offence sometime in December, 2021 at Ijanikin area of Lagos.

Okuiomose said that the defendant obtained the sum of N3.5 million from the complainant, Mrs Uzoamaka Ogbodo, under the pretence of selling a plot of land to her, knowing this to be false.

He said the defendant converted the money to his personal use.

The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 314 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 287 stipulates three years’ jail term for stealing.

The Chief Magistrate, Fadaunsi Adefioye, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Adefioye said the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction with evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

he chief magistrate adjourned the case until April 5, for mention.

Tension As NURTW Workers Kill Bus Driver In Imo

A commercial bus driver, identified as Uzoma Onyeagucha from Umunkweye, Irete, 45 and father of 7 children has been killed by an official of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) who was said to be on an illegal duty in Owerri.

According to Daily Sun, the unfortunate incident occurred on the 8th of March, around Arugo in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State.

An eye witness who narrated the incident disclosed that the NURTW official who was said to be on an illegal duty, in the company of some of his members forcefully approached the father of 7 where he was parked at Asumpta Control Post bus stop to drop off some of his passengers, demanding why he parked there despite the union’s prohibition order of the parking space.

The bus driver, according to the source immediately tried to drive away when the officials numbering over 20 pounded on him and star started beating him.

The victim tried to run, but the men of NURTW caught up with him and continue to beat him until he fell to the ground, hitting his bare head on the tarred road.

He reportedly died at the hospital before he could be revived, the source said.

Hit and run: ‘Timaya left me in pool of blood’ — lady finally reacts

Osinubi Damilola, the victim of alleged hit and run incident involving Timaya, the Nigerian singer, has finally broken her silence on social media.

Timaya has been in the public eye since Omowunmi Lawal, an entrepreneur, claimed he hit her sister’s car at the Ikate axis of Lekki in Lagos state and zoomed off after injuring her in the process.

The ‘Dem Mama’ crooner had denied the allegation and would later apologise in a statement.

But in a lengthy Instagram post on Tuesday, Damilola countered the singer’s account of the incident.

She also claimed that Timaya, whom she said was driving through one way in his green G-wagon, hit her jeep and damaged parts of her vehicle in the process.

Damilola said after hitting her, the singer initially refused to stop until he was held by gridlock.

She said she had approached him to complain about the damage done to her vehicle but Timaya only asked for her contact.

Damilola said she, however, refused to give him her phone number as she was not sure if it would yield any meaningful result.

She said amid their disagreement, she thought the singer was trying to park when he suddenly “zoomed off, knocked me down and left me in a pool of blood.”

“I wanted to turn to the other side right in front of his Gwagon then this So called Celebrity zoomed off with his Gwagon by knocking me down,” she wrote.

“Not only that he dragged me on the road where I sustained injuries on my face, my two knees, my right hand, all my acrylics nails forcefully pulled out before I know it he ran away leaving me in my own pool of blood.

“Then passerby rushed me to a nearby pharmacy where I managed to call my husband before I was later taken to Reedingtton Hospital where I received about 15 stiches on my face and other treatment was administered before I was later discharged later in the evening and was taken to General hospital for further treatment.”

Damilola said since the incident, the singer has yet to demonstrate any form of remorse or reach out to her to apologise.

“How can you tell the whole world you didn’t notice you hit a car? I knocked on your side window to draw your attention only for you to bully me as a woman,” she added.

“Timaya Inetimi you are wicked and heartless. You painted your wicked act of hit and run with emotion. If not (that you were called out), you out if not you won’t tender apology to your fan.

“Your conscience will continue to judge you cause you intentionally hit me off with your green G wagon boasting that you are a celebrity, your lawyer came and sympathize with me in general hospital at about 10:30 pm and your lawyer said this is too much for someone to let it slide.

“The pains you inflicted on me by your recklessness and no respect for womanhood. The permanent scar you inflicted on me intentionally. All I want is justice as he isn’t feeling remorse because he should not go scot free to serve as deterrent for others.”

Police DIG, Joseph Egbunike, slumps, dies

A Deputy Inspector General of Police and the head of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Joseph Egbunike has reportedly slumped and died.

iRoc gathered that Egbunike collapsed inside his office in Abuja late Tuesday March 8, 2022 and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Until his death, Egbunike was in charge of the highest investigating arm of the Nigeria Police, and headed probe panel investigating suspended deputy commissioner of Police Abba Kyari.

His functions include investigation and prosecution of serious and complex criminal cases within and outside the country.

Ademola Adeleke wins Osun PDP guber primary

ADEMOLA Adeleke has been declared winner of the governorship primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State.

Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, the returning officer and deputy governor of Bayelsa State, announced that Adeleke got 1887 out of a total of 1916 votes to win the PDP governorship ticket.

Other aspirants, Dotun Babayemi, Akinbade Fatai and Akin Ogunbiyi did not get any vote.

Bamidele Adeleke and Sanya Omirin got one and four votes each, respectively.

Meanwhile, another faction of the party led by Wale Ojo held a parallel primary election which was attended by former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Olusola Obada and Shuaib Oyedokun.

Babayemi emerged winner of the parallel primary election.

Announcing the result at WOCDIF, the Chief Returning Officer Adelani Ajanaku said Babayemi won with 1,781 votes.

Dismissing the parallel primary election, the Bayelsa deputy governor, Ewhrudjakpo, maintained that the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) did not recognise the exercise conducted by the Oyinlola faction.

The governorship election is scheduled to hold on July 16.

iRoc had reported that one of the top contenders in the governorship election, Akin Ogunbiyi, withdrew from the race on Monday, alleging that the process had been compromised to favour a particular candidate.
