While this was going on, the door opened and the queen appeared.

Prince Chibuzor jumped up and started yelling at Adaugo.

"get out of my room. You came here to seduce me? You tried to rápé me. Ahh! Adaugo, I never knew you were like this. And I warned my brother o. I warned him o but he was sooo bent on marrying because of love. Now, look at. Trying to seduce the prince of Umuaghadi Kingdom" he said and Adaugo's mouth flew in shock.

"what?" she said.

The queen walked into the room.

"I knew it! I knew it! So this is the kind of person that you really are. You kílléd my son, Ikemeufuna. You stole the staff of authority and now you tried to rápé my other son? Aru!" she exclaims in awe.

Adaugo begins to cry and beg.

"no, my queen. Don't believe him, please. He is lying. I would never do something like that. I did not try to rápé the prince. Why would I even do something like that? Why would a woman wants to r**e a man? He's the one who was trying to.."

The queen immediately cut her short by landing her a very hot slap on the cheek.

"how dare you try to accuse the prince of Umuaghadi Kingdom for such a big crime? Of course, everything is possible with you. You can do and undo the doings of the doings. You're a very big sly and you're going to face the punishment for everything you have done!" she thundered and walked out while Adaugo continues to cry on the floor.

Prince Chibuzor lets out a wicked smile and also walked away.

In Princess Mirabel's room, she's panting up and down in the room.

CHAPTER 5

"shut up your dirty smelling mouth there!" the queen ordered and Adaugo cried while sitting on the ground.

How was she going to vindicate herself? How was she going to prove her innocence?

Everything was just moving from frying pan to fire instead of getting better.

Adaugo held the king on his legs crying her eyes out.

"my king. I swear I didn't do it, believe me!"

"Can you hear yourself? I should believe someone who kílléd my son? Tell me, are you not capable of doing this? You didn't do this? And you expect me to believe that? Then, tell me what the staff of authority was looking for in your bag. You must be stupid!" the king said angrily.

"my king I don't know. I don't know how that entered my bag I really have no idea. Believe me my king" Adaugo cried.

"guards!" the king called on the guards and they immediately appeared with their knees on the ground and with a bow.

"take her out of this place and lock her up in the cell!" he ordered and the guards immediately did as they were told and forcefully dragged Adaugo up from where she was on the ground.

She kept on crying as she was being taken away.

"my king. I swear I did not do it. I did not!"

News already spread round the whole village like a wild fire about Adaugo stealing the staff of authority.

She was literally on the lips of every villager of Umuaghadi.

She was cursed, gossiped and literally mocked at.
While locked up in the small cell, Adaugo was starved daily. She was neither given water nor food to eat.

Princess Melody would always sneak to where she was locked up with a tray of food in her hand. Adaugo would thank her and devour the food so hungrily like a lion.

CHAPTER 4

"give me the razor!" the women leader commanded and a razor was immediately given to her then she began shaving Adaugo's hair.

Adaugo couldn't stop crying as she saw her precious hair fall from her head. Her head was repeatedly scr**ed with 30 razors.

"I didn't kîll the prince" she kept on saying while crying.

"shut up! Who asked you?" one of the women shouted.

"you think we'll fall for your nonsense crocodile tears? We already know women like you. And to even think that it is our gentle and handsome prince. You think we're going to take it lightly? You lie" another women said angrily and they all mocked at Adaugo as she sat on the ground while the cruel justice was being done on her hair.

"my dear women of Umuaghadi Kingdom. Make sure that, that lady lying there receives the best hair scraping ever. Let her feel that pain of how I lost my brother." Prince Chibuzor who had come out and seen the drama said.

"yes my prince" they all bowed down and Prince Chibuzor turned to Adaugo that was sitting on the ground.

"you kílléd my brother right? My one and only brother. I'll make sure that the gods of our land strikes you to death soon!" he threatened and walked back into the palace with all royalty and majesty while the women continued with their torture on Adaugo.

The following morning, Adaugo now being subdued to the rank of a maid woke up as early as possible, joined the other maids and started cleaning the whole house.

She was the one to clean Prince Chibuzor's room so she knocked on it and she heard a 'come in'.

She went in and Prince Chibuzor was already awake. He was having his shower in the bathroom.

She immediately started cleaning his room and bending down to dust out the dirt from his table.

Prince Chibuzor finally came out from the bathroom.

EPISODE 14

l got to Edward apartment and rang the bell on the door. l got no response. l tried opening it but sense it was locked then l opened it with my power and got in. He wasn't in his room neither was he in his bathroom. l came out soon and stood at his door post.

Where could he have gone to and quickly got it in my spirit that he went out. l went back to the house, determined to wait for him to be back from wheresoever place he must have gone to.

l kept myself busy looking at the photos of the Benson family. There seemed to be very happy, l must confess. They was one Regina, the former house help was part of. It was beautiful beholding. One wouldn't know she was a house help in the picture, if not being told. They were all corporately dressed.

My eyes fell on another photo where the little boy was taken with a cake with the inscription '@ 1'. l flipped through the photo album l had taken from the parent's room. l had a smirk on my face after going through the photos. Though the photos were beautiful but at the same time there were anonying to me.

l blew out fire from my mouth on the photo album which was still on my hand and it caught fire from the tip.

"Goodbye the Benson's family. it was a pleasure meeting you all. l planned making you live for more days, l swear l planned so but the constant prayers of aunty Joyce made me change my mind. She kept on praying and the more she prayed, an unseen power kept backing her up, making most of my effort useless. it has always been my wish and desire that you all pass through the same pain l passed through. my apologies to you wife and little ones, it just have to happen anyways. EPISODE 13

Aunty Joyce had barely been staying at home for the past few days, she takes her children along with her too. she said she was attending to some things and needed them to be around her.

Whenever they come back at night, she dresses her children and put them to bed herself. She says l needed not to bother myself. On two occasions, l had noticed her sleep in her children's room. Which was unlike her. She still does her prayer every night.

l have often wonder why people haven't been coming in to sympathize with her about her husband's death. it have often kept me thinking if she was keeping her husband death a secret. Though she doesn't behave like one who was been secretive about it but she also wasn't outspoken about it either. she had been behaving strange, it has sometimes kept me wondering if it was just as a result of her husband's death.

l was mostly alone in the house, aside from Edward who was always outside.
The few times l went to give him his food, He was always watching me with lustful eyes.

He has been unnecessarily friendly with me of recent and have jokily invited me to come into his apartment. l rejected his offer on the two occasions he did that.

The bell rang from the sitting downstairs, l wondered who it was as l didn't get to hear aunty Joyce car drive in. l scrutinize who it was in the spirit and discovered it was Edward, then l disappeared to the sitting room. Getting to the door, l met him smiling foolishly.

"Aku how are you doing? Hope you are not being bored in the house all to yourself? l can be of help you know, can l come in?"

EPISODE 12

"Akuoma, how are you feeling today?" Aunty Joyce asked me when l stepped out of my room the following morning.

"l'm fine ma" l replied and she smiled before leaving.

Last night was much more different from the previous nights. l went out of the house in the spirit but time around, l didn't go in search of any power, l went to the hospital uncle Desmond was admitted into.

l got into the compound. The security men outside were snoring in a corner. l walked into the big hospital building and met a woman sleeping at a corner by my right. She was snoring faintly. l assumed her to be a nurse going by the way she was dressed.

Going further, l met wards lined up respectively. l deciphered which my killer was in and headed for it.

A force pushed me back as l tried going in. l smirked in response. l needed no one to tell me it was aunty Joyce's prayer at work.l was used to it by now.

Without giving it a second trial, l turned and went to the entrance where l met the assumed nurse. l said few inaudible words and entered into her body, instantly she woke up.

l manipulated her into going to uncle Desmond ward and as if being controlled by a remote, she headed there straight away. She turned the door k**b and it opened for her.

She got in and inspected the room. uncle Desmond was sleeping peacefully on the bed.

Her facial expression was a friendly one and suddenly it turned angry.

"Oh poor Desmond Benson! who can save you from my me now? Hahaha... Just look at the way you're sleeping peacefully like a baby, you murderer! You want to have peace? Well you can never have peace! Do you know why? Because there's no peace for the wicked like you. You shall have no peace, you.. must.. die! Your life is on my palm and only l have the power to cut it off! You're at my mercy Desmond Benson! You're at my mercy. Your praying wife won't be able to save you this time. Hahahahahahahahaha.." She laughed with fierceness in her voice.

EPISODE 11

lt was a Saturday, Aunty Joyce returned yester night with her son some minutes past 8. The moment they arrived, l took the boy from her and went to clean him up. Later on during dinner, l tried getting words from her about how it all went but she was reluctant to talk about it.

The night was crazy. l wasn't able to do anything much. She prayed and prayed into night. At some point, my spirit had to flew from the house when the fire got unbearable for me. My body was laid still on the bed. My door was locked from the inside.

l returned back early this morning, full of powers. She retreated, l retreated...

By 8:20 am, l prepared breakfast and dished it out before taking it to the dinning table. l went and knock on the aunty Joyce's room and shouted out to her that breakfast was ready then left immediately for the children's room without waiting for her response.

Sooner had l started feeding the two kids respectively, aunty Joyce came down.

"You've dished out my food already? so sorry l forget to tell you, l wouldn't be eating now" She said to me then sat on the chair close to the boy, took his plate of food and started to feed him.

"Okay ma'am, should l micro wave it for you?" l asked.

"No, if at all you want to microwave it, it shouldn't be for me, l am on a fast and l don't know when l will be ending it. it's as the spirit leads. l can't see your own food on the table. if you haven't dished yours yet, you can eat this"

"Okay ma'am" l replied and watched at interval as she fed her son while cheering him up to eat more and the boy was giggled to her cheers.

A smile popped out on my face on watching their drama. She saw my smile and smiled back at me, thinking it was a sincere smile unknown to her that l was only smiling because of the misfortune that would hit them in minutes time.

EPISODE 10

I waited to see her reaction. The more l waited, the more it seemed like it won't happen.

She stood up and picked her phone then ordered me to go bring her son downstairs. l stood erect, ignoring her order, still expecting to see the poison at work.

lt should have started immediately the coffee went down her belly. The poison should have started it work by bitting off her intestine till she bleeds to death.

l was brought back from my reverie when she called me again and repeated her order. l replied trying to hide my shock then headed upstairs to get the imbecile son.

When l was far from her sight, l began to ponder on why the poison didn't work. I was angry and needed urgent result. if l hadn't been with her from the time l served the coffee, l would have thought she changed the coffee or something.

l heard her call my name again, telling me to be snappy. So l push my thoughts aside and rushed to get the boy.

Soon l came downstairs and hand in hand we took the boy into the car. l stood aside with folded hands and watch her drove out of the house. l could still not believe the poison had no effect on her. A poison l detained myself from a reliable source!

l didn't want to believe this had anything to do with the unseen power.
How could a power exercise such control?
Why was this God-like power this supreme?
Why was this power so interested in this family? Why couldn't it just mind it business and allow me do my thing?
Why was it interfering in my business when l wasn't interfering in His?

All l want is to take revenge. ls that too big to ask. l mean.. my life was gruesomely taken away from me against my will and here l am living the life of a spirit, when my killer is busy living a fulfilled life. isn't life so unfair, so why then would one unseen power from no where come and stand as an hindrance to the only thing that can make me rest in peace.

l waited till dusk, aunty Joyce came back looking like a dejected sheep. She walked pass me to her children's room, ignoring my welcome greeting. l followed behind and watch her look at her imbecile son in pity.

The beautiful, smiling aunty Joyce l came to know on my first day in the house, has turned to one sad driven young woman.

"Aunty Joyce what is the problem? ls everything fine? l am worried at the way you left the house. l know l am not family but l have come to take you, uncle and the children as one since l have none. please aunty talk to me, is everything alright?" l questioned with concerns on my face and subtly sat down close to her.

She looked at me with teary eyes and snuffle. l could see the pains in them, severe pain but l wasn't moved in anyway.

"Aku my husband was involved in a an accident, l rushed down to the hospital and saw how badly injured he is. And here is my son who mysteriously turned into an imbecile. l don't know what is going on. l don't just understand what is happening to my family. we were one happy family free from problems. l don't know why God has chosen to turn his back on us. why has God choose to let the enemy attack my family. Why?
Why has God chosen to forsake me after all my loyalty and obedience to Him. After all l did for the church. l have friends who are rich like me but none of them go to church the way l do. Many times some of them had laughed at me and called me born again, some even disconnected themselves from me, but all this didn't move me one bit away from God. l still continued to serve Him faithfully regardless of their talks. why then has God allowed evil be fall me.
Are my sin that many like that of S***m and Gomorrah that can't be forgiven? Just yesterday, this house, l and my husband worked hard to build was almost burnt down to ashes if not for the timely intervention of the fire extinguishers. What is my offence Akuoma? AKUOMA (A GIRL ON VENGEANCE)

EPISODE 8

It was a quite one for the rest of the day. The atmosphere was tensed too. Aunty Joyce and her husband had retired to their room. when the children arrived from school earlier, she told me to take care of them and feed them before putting them to sleep. she informed me that she was tired and wouldn't come out for the rest of the day.

She really needed that anyway, what happened was too much for her to digest in a day. l guess she and her husband would be crying their eyes out.

l did as expected of me; l bathed the kids and dressed them up, served them their meals. Thereafter l made them have their nap. l watch their innocent faces as they slept peacefully.

l thought of trying to steal the girl's star once more, so l switched to my spirit self and went out to check if aunty was praying or not. This time around l could gain access into the room.

l met she and her husband asleep. l could see the dried lines of their tears on their faces. They must have slept off after so much cries.

l surveyed the room with my eyes. it was my first time being there. The fire did a great job on the designs. The bed and cushion were burnt badly too. while wandering my eyes round the room, it caught a glimpse of their wedding frame that was on the floor in a destroyed manner.

The frame must be a strong for it to have slightly survived the fire. Half of their body on it was already burnt, leaving just their heads that was also having some burnt particles on it.

The burnt particles covered half of the smiles on their face which made it look as though they were crying and not really smiling. l smiled at the bad transformation of the picture and disappeared out of the room for the children's room.

lt was so easy taking their stars. This time, l didn't only take the girl's star, l took the boy's own too. There were two bright stars and l could see in them glorious destinies.

EPISODE 7

"I'm sorry, l.. l was unaware that you were coming" l apologized as the water splashed on the floor.

The housemaid was obviously angry and was only trying to control her anger because of the presence of aunty Joyce, so she only bad eyed me then went back to the kitchen.

"You have to be careful next time" Aunty Joyce told me from the stairs and left.

l watch her walk into her room. l could tell there was more to that look that meet the eyes. l suspected if the unseen power has revealed to her who l really was, but on a second thought, doubted it. if truly she already knows who l was, she would have confronted me from the moment she saw me....

"Hey! what are you busy standing there for? who are you expecting to clean up this mess? c'mon take this napkin and clean this thing" The house help who was back from the kitchen beseeched as she threw the napkin on my body.

l looked down at the napkin that has fallen off my body then to her and said with a commanding voice.

"pick up this napkin and clean this mess up right away!"

"What? me? did you just...."

l didn't allow her complete what she wanted to say, before waving my hand on her face and watch her blink her eyes.

"Yes ma, l will do it right away." She mouthed, bowing her head in respect, and knelt down and started soaking the water into the dried napkin.

l smirked and went into the kitchen. The whole place has been tidied up. The gas cooker was on, heating the food of the previous day.

l walked up to a stool that was kept at the far end in the kitchen and sat on it like the boss of the house with my legs crossed.

The environment was silent. it seemed the children had gone to school, and even uncle Desmond was not at home.
This house is too big to be boring. l needed to do something to spice it up. l smiled wickedly as a thought evolve my mind.
