Over rated...a story by Upaa Eucharia Nonnita.
Why didn't you tell me you where leaving, his reply was " I didn't tell you because I didn't want to say goodbye to you, saying goodbye would have made you cry or would have made me cry". I was speechless for a while...then I asked again. When are you coming back? This time he was silent for a little bit before answering me, his response came as a surprise but not a shocking surprise. In fact I was very glad at his response " baby I don't know when I would be back but please wait for me". Those where his exact words
Years has come and gone still yet I'm still waiting patiently for his return. It been 3years since I last heard or seen Jake my hearts aches for him, all I have been doing this past three years is to hold on to his words " baby wait for me". My friend Belinda asked me several times to forget about Jake and move on but I refused.
I strongly believe that one day Jake would come back to me, I have had several dreams of his return, I wasn't going to give up on him easily. One day my aunty Uncle asked me to follow his girlfriend to Lagos for her wedding shopping since I wasn't doing anything important at the moment, I gladly accepted since I needed a change of environment.
On getting to Lagos, my uncle's girlfriend insisted we go out for some fresh air.
We went to an eatery where I ran into an old friend of Jake, it was quite a surprise to see him there. He told me he was married with two beautiful kids, he brought out his phone to show me a picture of his kids on one of their birthday day. In the picture I saw Jake..so I asked him about his whereabout... He didn't exactly say anything instead he he wrote his address for me.
The next day I decided to pay Jake a surprise visit and uncle's girlfriend insisted that she would come along and I said okay. One getting to Jake house the first person I met was a very beautiful lady smiling at me as she asked who I was looking for, I told her I wanted to see Jake so she offered us a seat and went in side to fetch Jake. Jake was surprise to see me, he was speechless and wouldn't even look me in the eye. After some time he managed to to speak "Jane how are you" stammering. Since when did you start stammering I asked, and by the way won't you introduce us to this lovely lady? Jake couldn't say a word. Hmm nice house I looked around and saw some beautiful wedding pictures of Jake. This time, my soul was almost working out of my body, I couldn't move or say a word, all I could do was cry.
I ran out of Jake's house in tears, my uncle girlfriend and Jake where behind me. I was so hurt that I didn't even see the truck coming as I tried to cross the road.
The next thing I found my self regaining consciousness in the hospital...everything seems to be stable. I asked for a pen and wrote down my story then I asked my uncles girlfriend to publish it when I am no more.
I also asked Jake to be present in fact I asked him to assist them when they put me six feet down. All he could do was cry and beg for forgiveness. I forgive you Jake but I still want you to be present when they put me six feet.

MORAL LESSON...
Life is too short waste over a relationship that isn't working, don't asked your partner to wait for you when you are not sure of what the future holds for you. Remember we are all human, ignorant of tomorrow...God alone can decide our tomorrow.
