Nigeria Computer Society Confers Honorary Fellowship on Yusuf Kazaure, MD/CEO Galaxy
Backbone.
Yusuf Kazaure, the Managing Director/CEO of Galaxy Backbone Ltd has been conferred
with an honorary fellowship of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS). The conferment
ceremony took place last Friday at the MUSON Centre Lagos during the Nigerian
Information Technology Merit Award (NITMA) hosted by the Society
Prof. Adesola Aderounmu, the President of Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) while
conferring the fellowship noted that the National Executive Council and College of
Fellows of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) gave approval to confer Honorary
Fellowship (FNCS) on Mr. Yusuf Zubair Mahmud Kazaure in recognition of his
leadership role and innovative use of Information Technology to bridge the digital
divide and drive economic growth in Nigeria.
Yusuf Kazaure is a seasoned professional with over 25 years cumulative working
experience spanning Architecture, Construction, Banking, Government and Information
Technology.
His passion for deepening the role of ICTs for effective governance and national
development resulted in Kazaure being a key member of the initial core team of
Galaxy Backbone Plc in 2006 and later became an Executive Director of Galaxy
Backbone Ltd. As one of the pioneer staff of Galaxy Backbone, he was at various
times the head of the Business Operations, Education, Development and States
functions - which focused essentially on ICT4D Initiatives - and Customer Operations
and Services departments of the company.
In the over nine years he has been with Galaxy, the company has laid the foundation
for e-Government by creating an enabling platform that currently connects over 700
Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in over 4,000 locations
across the country.
According to NCS, "the achievements of this year's nominees and recipients are
impressive and serve as a powerful reminder of the significant impact top achievers
in the IT industry are making in Nigeria".
Mr. Kazaure possesses a BSc and M.Sc in Architecture from Ahmadu Bello University,
Zaria and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Bayero University Kano. He
also has a Diploma in Computing from Oxford University in the UK.

How to Determine Your Future Success
When deciding to start an online business or changing your online business, most people look at what the business is offering, how much money they can make, how fast they can make it and lot more. The one important ingredient they fail to look at is themselves. Are they ready to be successful? Do they have the commitment to be successful? There are a lot of components that make a successful entrepreneur but most people don't realize that most of the time it has nothing to do with the business they are in.
Let's do a gut check first. What are your reasons for starting your online business? Are your reasons strong enough so it will keep you focus to do whatever it takes to be successful? Will they keep you committed to assure that no matter what obstacle is thrown your way, you will keep on going?
What do you need to do to be successful? You have to be willing to learn and willing to be taught. Understand that the people teaching you usually have been through the trial and error period and will save you steps and money. Don't think you are smarter than the people you work with. You have to be willing to spend the time and effort in your business that is needed. If you commit to 10 hours a week on your business, you will get results of someone that works 10 hours and the same would go someone that invest 40 hours a week. Make sure you take in consideration how will affect your time with your family if you have a family? You will be required to invest money in your business, how much do you have available to get started? The least you invest, the longer it will take you to achieve your financial goals and vice versa.
Most successful entrepreneur will tell you that the 97% of the entrepreneur that have failed or will fail over the next 3 years will fail because of the reasons above and 4 more ingredients. Discipline, persistence, consistency and planning are 4 components that you absolutely need to be a successful entrepreneur.
Gut check and knowing the 4 components you need to be successful, now you can go look for a business knowing that you have what it takes to be successful.
