THIS GOSPEL 1: IT IS BALANCED
- The MASTERPiece News
Sequel to our last news post, GOSPEL vs FAITH-BASED: THE CLASH OF CIVILIZATION, The MASTERPiece News will be living out the commission we have received from God, which is “Bringing you healthy Gospel News for your spiritual edification, physical enrichment and all round balanced-diet.” Premised on this mission-charge, we will be starting a series about the true nature of the Gospel for a proper education of our spirit-man, bearing in mind that there are countless adulteration of what the Gospel is.
The word ‘GOSPEL’ has lost its’ strength and worth in this callous generation of ours. The meaning had been substituted for a mere genre in classification in the light of the measure of the world system. This is the singular reason the precious Gospel could easily be subjected to sheer comparison with worldly carved-out notions like FAITH-BASED. Measures of men had both determined and fixed the great word into a match-box. What used to serve as a demanding factor for eternity had been replaced with mere earthly fantasies. The trend had been so abused that even, a fornicator comes to the public to announce himself as a ‘gospel singer.’
One, in such light, was a so-called gospel singer that defiled her matrimonial sanctification through the media and later teamed up with a weed-smoking young man to sing their celebrated ‘gospel songs.’ Do you not know that your home is one of the critical platforms through which the Gospel must be preached? Such desecrating acts like this is causing wounds and bruises on the Church of Christ. Despite such despicable maligning of our source of life, we remained comfortable with them. The Church had ignored those many little foxes and today, she has referred to them as a part of the Church system. Before our eyes, these foxes are busy destroying the precious vine that God Himself had laboured upon as the Husbandman.
The agony doubled, when within the walls that the Gospel ought to be kept most sacred, its content had become diluted. We have now fabricated a new type of gospel - ‘The Generationext (GenX) Movement. We have unseated the primary and the main message of the Church for the motivational, easily-celebrated concepts. We have soon forgotten the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:33 that the Church ought to seek first, His Kingdom and its’ righteousness, and it is after that that these other things we are greedily looking for will be given to us as well. It was never in the reverse.
Many made themselves blind followers devouring whatever comes from their celebrated idols, even in the Church. Rather than being like the Berean Christians, going back to confirm every divulgings they receive, they gullibly swallow anything that comes, as long as it is coming from their celebrated icons. This is Hell! In another instance, some followers only follow the practices of their fathers’ in the Lord (the genuine ones) and not seek to tap into the life they carry. They walk like them, talk like them, gesticulates like them, in fact, do ministerial activities like them but never consider living the life of Christ like them. It was a startling revelation for me when I found a quote from the message of a renowned pastor that centres his work around prayer and intercession. The quote reads, “When you are praying instead of repenting, you limits your prayer.” But look around at his followers, you will lament greatly for the loss of lives.
Listen to this, if we continue in this manner, the Gospel will not become activated in us and thus we’ll become unprepared for eternity. The corrupt practices we daily engage as ministry will keep failing upon one another as dung of wasted labours.
The true Gospel is complete! It is balanced with no nutritional value lacking! For this reason, there should not be any who will be said to be malnourished or handicapped both in living and ministry. Why? Because, the Gospel is a balanced diet! You don’t need to patch it up or go to S***m to borrow any concept or philosophy to improve the Gospel. If your life is lacking consistency and growth, the Gospel has lost its place in you. If your ministry and its productivity is experiencing a drawback, go back and check, the Gospel must have been displaced. The Gospel is the only medium through which the Church and its’ various ministries can flourish and be sustained. It is high-time we looked back to check where our axe-head fell. We can’t continue like this and hope to make it home at last. Repent now!
