Eyebrows raised as 2 notorious Kidn+ppers repent, request to join hunters to f+ght bandits, others in Taraba State.

Two kidnappers, Gayya Alhaji Abdu (20) & Siyyo Alhaji Amadu (21) have repented & presented themselves to the leaders of hunters in Taraba State, saying they decided on their own to stop kidnapping.

Gayya told City & Crime that he participated twice in kidnapping & that in each of the operations he got N200,000.

Gayya said he joined a gang of kidnappers when he learnt that he was on the wanted lists of suspected kidnappers, noting that at the time his name was put on the wanted lists, he never committed any crime talk less of kidnapping, hence that he ran from his father’s house because he believed that once he was captured he would be k+lled.

l decided to repent because l could not withstand the horror and the ways and manners the victims were being treated, and also, l don’t want to be k+lled because most of the kidnappers end up being k+lled by security agents or hunters.

Yoruba movie actor Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji aka Sisi Quadri has tragically passed away.

The news of his demise has left the Nigerian entertainment industry & his fans in shock & mourning. He was widely celebrated for his remarkable performances, particularly in the Yoruba comedy genre. His memorable role in the beloved movie “Seniyan Seranko,” which was released on December 4, 2004 endeared him to audiences across the nation.

The late actor was set to captivate audiences once again in the upcoming film “Anikulapo: The Return of Spectre,”. His absence will undoubtedly be felt by his fellow cast members & fans alike.

Known for his exceptional comedic talent and his ability to deliver cutting ins¥lts with finesse, Sisi Quadri portrayed characters burdened with the responsibility of humorously “yabbing” (mo3king) others.

Jigawa police arrest man for k+lling his mother.

A 32-year-old man, Samuel Shegun, has been arrested over alleged k+llimg of his biological mother.

According to a press briefing by the State commissioner of police, CP. AT Abdullahi, the police discovered a lif£less body of a 47-year-old woman, Esther Adekanla, popularly known as Hadiza Nakowa in her house at Dutse town.

He said following the investigation, detectives from State Criminal Investigation Department, Dutse, arrested the suspect of opposite Awajil filling Station Dutse, in connection with the case.

CP Abdullahi noted that the suspect was arrested via tracking of the deceased phone number, which linked him to the offence.

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (aka So-Safe Corps) has busted a syndicate that specialized in burglary and stealing of power generating sets at Agoro, a suburb area in Sango-Otta.

Two of the six-man gang ran out of luck after successfully carting away a 7.5kva alternator diesel generator, while in use, and were in the process of revisit, to do away with another one, this time, a petrol generator, from the same spot.

A statement issued by the the Corps Commander, Dr. Soji Ganzallo through the Director of Information and Public Relations, AC Moruf Yusuf, revealed that the suspects,
Toyeeb Yekini and Ajie Victor, were intercepted on a motorbike before accomplishing their second operation.

According to the statement, at about 01:00am on February 22, there was an emergency call from the said community, needing a prompt response of the Corps, following which the Ado-Odo/Otta Zonal Commander, AC Tajudeen Odunmbaku, deployed his men to the troubled Agoro community.

On interrogation, the suspects disclosed that they arrived the community two hours earlier, only to carry out the operation thereafter, carting away the 7.5kva alternator diesel generator.

However, the Corps Commander revealed that
the stolen generator had been recovered at Ilepa in Ifo Local Government Area of the state, adding that, in their confession, the suspects disclosed the identity of the buyer of their stolen goods as one 'Indomie', residing in Ijako-Otta.

They also listed other members of the syndicate, stirring the water of peace in Agoro community, to include Omo Wise, MTN, Foldest and Shuaib.

Meanwhile, according to Ganzallo, the suspects and the exhibit have been transferred to the Sango-Otta Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.

PRESIDENT BOLA TINUBU'S STATE VISIT TO QATAR

We are aware of a leaked diplomatic correspondence between the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Abuja and our Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s state visit to Qatar between 2 and 3 March, 2024.

The leaked diplomatic paper by mischief makers about an investment forum is not in any way a snub on President Tinubu by the Qatari government.

The Note Verbale is about a private sector-led Business and Investment Forum to be held on the margins of President Bola Tinubu's State Visit.

The event is being put together by the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and Qatar's Chambers of Commerce and Industry where business people from Nigeria will engage their counterparts from Qatar on commercial and investment opportunities available in both countries.

We note the strong bilateral relationship between our two countries and affirm that the State Visit by President Bola Tinubu to Qatar is on the invitation of the Emir of Qatar, His Highness, Sheik Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani.

The State Visit is particularly aimed at strengthening the bilateral economic cooperation between Nigeria and Qatar.

NACCIMA and Qatar Chambers of Commerce and Industry are collaborating to take advantage of President Tinubu's visit to Doha to mobilise the business community from our two countries to explore opportunities in key economic sectors such as oil & gas, manufacturing, agro-business, construction, real estate, ICT, Renewable Energy, Solid Minerals and service sector, among others.

President Tinubu is expected to proceed to Qatar on the State Visit as scheduled and during the visit, the Nigerian leader will engage in high-level bilateral discussions with Qatari leader on many important matters, covering the full range of diplomatic and economic issues.

It is not correct for anyone to insinuate that the Qatari authorities have snubbed the Nigerian leader over a business and investment forum which is tangential to the all-important State Visit and which President Tinubu is slated to attend as a guest.

President Tinubu and His Highness Al-Thani are both committed to maintaining and building on the existing cordial and special relationship between Nigeria and the State of Qatar.

Police arrest two very handsome armed r%bbers in military uniforms in Nasarawa.

Police operatives in Nasarawa state have arrested two suspected armed r%bbers t£rrorizing parts of the Ekye Development Area in Doma LGA of the state.

The command’s spokesperson in a statement on February 23, identified the suspects as Abdullahi Basso and Saidu Isah. He said the command received complaints of weekly armed r%bberies on Thursday nights by persons clad in military uniforms along Doma-Rukubi Road in the Ekye community.

According to the statement, “Consequently, on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at about 1800hrs, police operatives attached to Ekye Division laid a successful ambush on the criminals at Kwanar Kare; a d@ngerous spot along Doma-Rukubi Road where armed r%bbers usually block the road and r%b unsuspecting road users.

The duo of Abdullahi Basso and Saidu Isah both males of Rugan Maigari, Rukubi village dressed in military uniforms were arrested at the scene while about to carry out their operation.

EFCC Arrests Two for Currency Racketeering in Abuja

Operatives of the Abuja Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, arrested two suspected money racketeers, Adigun Johnson, an Ordinary National Diploma, OND, a graduate of Public Administration and James Friday an artisan at a nightclub in Wuse Area of Abuja.

The suspects were arrested with the sum of N3,480,000.00 (Three Million Four Hundred and Eighty Thousand Naira), in their possession and three Point of Sale POS machines which they allegedly used to carry out their activities.

Their arrest followed surveillance and intelligence by operatives of the EFCC on currency abuse and mutilation.

The suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

Pastor, two others arrested for tr@fficking 12 children in Abuja.

Police operatives in the FCT have arrested a Pastor, identified as Simon Kado, & 2 others for allegedly tr@fficking 12 children from Nasarawa State.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh.who paraded the suspects in Abuja, said they were arrested by the operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS 74), on February 9th.

He said the operatives intercepted one Muhammad Isah of Kafanchan, Kaduna State in a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number APP 489 XE, conveying the 12 children, comprising 4 males & 8 females.

According to him, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the children whose ages are between 5 to 16 years, all from Akwanga LGA, Nasarawa state were being tr@fficked to Ogun state by one Pastor Simon Kado & Jesse Simon Kado who are now presently in police custody.

Investigation is still ongoing and effort in conduit with Nasarawa state police command on how to reunite victims with their respective families.”

I got married 14th of 2019 my marriage was not upto a year the man left me in the hospital pack our things and left the house before we get married he was working in a small place as home chef which he told me he was paid 35k I later try all my possible best to look for another job for him in ibadan which he came before we later got married I rented an apartment for him so he will be comfortable but I later discovered that he met someone else where his working and desire to moved in with the lady. During that time he doesn't come home all what he normally told me was he's busy at work till the day of my delivery, i went through cesarian section in which my mum paid almost all the money since he's no where to be found, the child I gave birth to died on the third day, his family stopped picking my calls and I later heard that he did court wedding to someone else in Abuja and had two boys, the lady refused him seen the kids whereas he told me he had only one child and I accepted bcos am also a single mother of one girl. Sorry for the long story I just have cut the long story short

BDC Operators reportedly shut down their business in Abuja due to the scarcity of U.S. Dollars.

The Abuja chapter of Association of Bureau De Change (BDC) Operators has announced the closure of their business premises indefinitely from Thursday, February 1, 2024.

According to Leadership Newspaper, The chairman of the Association, Abdulahi Dauran, said the scarcity of US Dollars was responsible for their decision while adding that online banking transactions and cryptocurrency were behind of the scarcity of dollars.

A suspected notorious Abuja kidn@pper, Chinaza Philip-Okoye, has claimed that he’s an armed r%bber and not a kidn@pper.

Chinaza was arrested by the police in Kaduna on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

Speaking with newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, January 24, he said: “I want to categorically state that I’m not a kidn@pper, I am not a kidn@pper. We only patrol at night and collect cars, and we take them to Kano for sale.

That night, our aim was to r%b the man and take his car, but I was surprised that after we collected his car, yellow who is like our leader, asked the man to enter the back of the car.

I didn’t know why he did that, and I couldn’t argue with him, so we were driving to Kano before the police caught up with us in Kaduna where I was arrested.”

The suspect was arrested by a combined team of FCT and Kaduna police officers in Kaduna on Thursday when the police swooped in on him and his gang members (now at large).
