It was a week already, and for the couples, no s*xual in*******se yet. It had been an unhappy marriage so far. It had been horrible as if they were now ordinary friends and just met for the first time. They now had to pretend like a happy couple in public. They were still on speaking terms though. Speaking terms between an unhappy couple, how's that something to hope for? You could imagine what Wale was going through; being denied s*x by his wife, yet refusing to cheat — A literal example of "I have money which I'm unable to spend, but I don't need the one you are offering"
One afternoon as Wale was out for work, T**ilayo's three friends visited. They were Chisom, Rofiyat, and Jennifer. Chisom and Jennifer were the cat and rat among them. After some interesting conversation, T**i finally opened up about the crisis that had been going on in her marriage. It came as a surprise for her friends and initially, they laughed because they thought she was joking.
"Baby girl, please don't tell us you're serious", Jennifer said to T**i, giggling. Jennifer was just skinny as T**ilayo but single and searching. No, not searching, but snatching. She was the type that would push you into quarreling with your husband and then own him later on. On her back she'd tattooed "If I want him, I must have him. If I can't have him, no one will". People who had seen that sentence on her body always thought it was just for fancy, but it wasn't. Jennifer was not a good friend, and T**i didn't know it... Chisom and Rofiyat were unaware. However, they all knew she is always fvcking around with men. She was just evil, lurking in the shadows — Her irresponsible parents had bred a friendly enemy — Another form of Jezebel was in existence.
"You know me nau, I can't be joking with such. We've seriously not been doing fine, never mind all the dramas in public, they're all pretense. I decided to disclose it to you guys because you are my best friends and the only ones I can share my problems with".
"It's alright, sweetie. No condition is permanent. I believe it's something common and soon you two will just be fine", Rofiyat comforted T**i and seated beside her. Rofiyat was sweet. She was a friend in a time of distress. She was trustworthy, T**i and co were lucky to have her. Sadly she was still single in her forties... She had not been lucky with men, she had many times been messed up by men.
"But what's the issue with you guys?", Chisom asked T**i.
"Must you know? Amebo", Rofiyat interjected Chisom's question. She knew her well. Chisom was the 'Radio Without Battery' among them. She was a damn gossipmonger. And she was married, but to a man who habitually hit her. She had many times been severely injured by her husband, yet she remained with him... No one could observe how shaky her marriage was because she always boost about it, publicly praising her husband when he never did something worth praising. Jennifer happened to be the only one aware that her husband regularly beat her. She had bumped into her being hit by her husband and promised to keep it secret.
"Nah question she asked, she no kill anybo...", Jennifer countered Rofiyat, siding Chisom.
"Abeg hold it right there, I didn't ask you to defend me...", Chisom interrupted Jennifer as Rofiyat laughed hard.
"See this mumu wey I dey speak out for", Jennifer told Chisom and she replied, "Did I send you to speak out for me? Or did I tell you I don't have the mouth to speak for myself?".
Jennifer hissed at that as Rofiyat kept laughing. T**ilayo now calmed them down and narrated what caused the problem in her marriage. Chisom was the first to react by laughing.
"Like seriously?", Jennifer exclaimed, laughing with Chisom.
"Guys, what's with the laughs, is this supposed to be funny?", Rofiyat rebuked the laughers who then began to drop sentences one after the other;
"What's funnier than this? How can she deny her husband s*x because she's tight and he's big, isn't that ridiculous?", Jennifer uttered, laughing hard.
"Seriously, when you said you two are not doing fine, I thought it was a financial crisis or he is abusing you", Chisom told T**i, chuckling.
"I didn't think so because her husband doesn't look like one who can lay his hands on a woman", Jennifer responded to Chisom who then felt she referenced her abusive husband. She stared at Jennifer and said, "He doesn't hit her because she's not a public hole."
Jennifer got the taunt and fumed at Chisom, anger building... "I swear to God, say another one and you'll see what I'll do to you"
"You no fit do anything, Jennifer", Chisom dared her. T**i and Rofiyat were just looking, confused.
"If this is how you challenge your husband, you wouldn't be his punching bag", Jennifer slammed her, and With that, T**i and Rofiyat realized that Chisom's frequent bragging about her marriage was a pretense all along.
"What?!? Your husband beat you?", T**i asked Chisom, but she was speechless now.
"Yes, her husband beat her like she's a nobody", Jennifer responded to T**i. Chisom had completely run out of words.
"When are you two going to stop this regular fight?", Rofiyat referred to Jenifer and Chisom.
"She always starts it", Chisom finally said.
"Are you kidding me? How?", Jennifer asked. "Well I don't have time for all this drama, I'm out of here", Jennifer left. They thought she left to avoid a further argument with Chisom, but Nope — She had a plan. She headed straight to T**i's husband, to his office, to seduce him. She got there at the very time he was h***y, hence she successfully got him. "Finally, something honey", Wale was thinking as he banged her..
