Setting up Meta Ads (Facebook or Instagram) has become a crucial part of marketing activities for most businesses, however many people make some mistakes that hinders them from getting the best out of these Ads.
Today, let’s look at Five (5) mistakes you need to avoid when setting up your ads
Targeting the Wrong Audience: One of the most common mistakes in digital advertising is targeting the wrong audience. Make sure to define your target audience clearly based on demographics, interests, behaviors, and other relevant criteria. Use Facebook's audience targeting tools effectively to reach the right people who are most likely to engage with your ads and convert.
Ignoring Ad Creative Quality: The quality of your ad creative plays a significant role in capturing users' attention and driving engagement. Avoid using low-quality images or videos, and ensure that your ad content is appealing, relevant, and aligned with your brand identity. Test different creative variations to see which ones resonate best with your audience.
Neglecting Ad Copy Optimization: Ad copy is crucial for passing your message and compelling users to take action. Avoid using generic or vague copy that doesn't clearly communicate your value proposition or call-to-action (CTA). Craft compelling, concise, and benefit-driven copy that encourages users to click through or engage with your ad.
Failing to Test and Optimize: A common mistake is setting up ads and then leaving them without ongoing optimization. Continuously test different ad elements such as headlines, copy variations, visuals, CTAs, and audience segments to identify what works best for your campaign objectives. Use A/B testing and performance metrics (such as CTR, conversion rate, and ROAS) to optimize ad performance over time.
Ignoring Ad Placement and Format: Facebook and Instagram offer various ad formats and placements, such as feed ads, stories ads, carousel ads, and more. Avoid using the same ad format for all placements without considering the user experience and context. Tailor your ad formats and placements based on where your audience is most likely to engage and how they prefer to consume content on each platform.
When you avoid these mistakes, your ads performance will improve and your marketing goals are more likely to be achieved.

Low engagement is one of the greatest concern of content creators, after putting in so much work into creating content, the last thing you want to see on your content are 2 likes and a comment, here are a few things we can do to boost engagement.
Know Your Audience: Understand who your target audience is and tailor your content to their preferences, interests, and needs.
Quality Content: Create high-quality, valuable content that is relevant and engaging to your audience. Use different formats like images, videos, polls, questions, and infographics to keep your content fresh and interesting.
Consistency: Maintain a consistent posting schedule to keep your audience engaged and aware of your presence. Consistency helps build trust and loyalty with your followers.
Engage with Your Audience: Actively engage with your audience by responding to comments, messages, and mentions promptly. Show genuine interest in your followers' opinions and feedback.
Use Hashtags Wisely: Research and use relevant hashtags to increase the discoverability of your content. However, avoid overusing hashtags or using irrelevant ones, as it can be seen as spammy.
Collaborate with Influencers: Partnering with influencers or other brands in your niche can help you reach a wider audience and increase engagement. Choose influencers whose audience aligns with your target demographic.
Run Contests and Giveaways: Organize contests, challenges, or giveaways to incentivize engagement and reward your followers. Encourage users to like, comment, share, or tag friends to participate.
Post at Peak Times: Experiment with different posting times to determine when your audience is most active and engaged. Use analytics tools to track the performance of your posts and adjust your posting schedule accordingly.
Share User-Generated Content: Showcase content created by your followers to foster a sense of community and encourage others to engage with your brand. User-generated content can also help increase authenticity and trust.
Optimize for Each Platform: Tailor your content and approach to each social media platform you're active on. What works on Instagram may not necessarily work on X or LinkedIn. Understand each platform and optimize your strategy accordingly.
Paid Advertising: Consider investing in paid advertising campaigns to boost your reach and engagement.
Monitor and Analyze Performance: Regularly monitor your social media analytics to track your engagement metrics and identify patterns or trends. Use this data to refine your strategy and focus on what works best for your audience.

It’s Monday Again!
There was an argument about the cowrywise billboard over the weekend, a part of the internet argued that there was no CTA on the Ad while the other part argued that cowrywise.com in itself is a call to action, you need to understand that there are several objectives for marketing campaigns and not all ads are expected to bring immediate returns that can be translated into Naira and kobo!
In the customers journey there are several stages and different campaigns can be directed at each or many of these stages.
Awareness: This is where customers start to recognize a need or desire. Through captivating content, eye-catching visuals, and engaging storytelling, you plant the seeds of curiosity, sparking interest and igniting the desire to learn more.
Consideration: Now that the spark has been lit, it's time to explore. In this stage, customers delve deeper into their options, comparing products, reading reviews, and seeking recommendations. Your role is to provide valuable insights, answer questions, and nurture relationships, guiding them along the path to informed decision-making.
Decision: This is the moment of truth. Armed with knowledge and confidence, customers are ready to make their choice. It's here that you showcase the unique value proposition of your offerings, making it easy for them to seal the deal and become valued customers.
Retention: But the journey doesn't end at the point of purchase—it's only just begun. Retention is about delivering exceptional experiences, exceeding expectations, and building lasting relationships. By staying connected, offering personalized support, and delivering ongoing value, you turn one-time buyers into loyal advocates.
Advocacy: In this final stage, delighted customers become your most powerful allies, singing your praises far and wide. Through word-of-mouth referrals, glowing testimonials, and social media shoutouts, they spread the love, attracting new customers and fueling your growth.
So that billboard already has all that is needed for the awareness stage and is doing what it needs to do.

Creating engaging and valuable content is essential for the success of any small and medium-sized enterprise (SME). Today I want to mention five content creation ideas to help boost your online activities and connect with your target audience:
Educational Content:
Create posts that provide valuable information related to your industry. Identify common challenges or questions that your target audience might have and address them in a clear and informative manner. For example, if you sell eco-friendly products, you could create posts about sustainable living tips, the environmental impact of certain products, or how to reduce carbon footprint.
Behind-the-Scenes Videos:
Give your audience a peek behind the curtain by creating videos that showcase the day-to-day operations of your business. Introduce your team, highlight your company culture, and share the process of creating your products or delivering your services. This gives a human face to your brand and helps build a connection with your audience.
Testimonials:
Share success stories of your satisfied customers. This could be in the form of written testimonials, video interviews, or case studies. Highlight the specific challenges your customers faced, how your product or service helped them overcome these challenges, and the positive outcomes they experienced. This not only provides social proof but also demonstrates the real-world value of your offerings.
Social Media Challenges or Contests:
Engage your audience on social media by creating challenges or contests related to your products or services. For example, encourage users to share creative ways they use your product, or run a contest where participants can submit photos or videos related to a specific theme. This not only encourages user-generated content but also increases brand awareness and interaction. You can also go ahead and use some of the content for your Ads with the permission of the creator.
Interactive Webinars or Q&A Sessions:
Host live webinars or Q&A sessions where you can interact directly with your audience. Discuss industry trends, provide expert insights, and answer questions from your audience in real-time. This not only positions you as an authority in your field but also allows you to directly engage with potential customers, building trust and credibility.
It is important to tailor your content to your target audience and consistently monitor analytics to understand what works best for your business. Adjust your strategy based on feedback and performance data to continuously improve your content creation efforts.

Talo So Kpe Ko Kpo Ke. Creating a landing page can cost you as much as 50,000 Naira ($100) per page if you do not know how to create one yourself, now if you have several products to create it becomes too expensive for you to bear which sometimes leads to you trying to find an easy way out which may lead to wasting more money. This is why I will be having a special WordPress Web Development training for a group of entrepreneurs in Ibadan from the 24th to 28th January. You need to jump on this right away if you want to stop paying others to help you make a landing page (You can create one in 30 minutes if everything you need is available).
