MISSIVE OF THE UNION MEETING HELD ON THE 11TH JANUARY 2022 WITH THE HON. CHAIRMAN IBARAPA NORTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AYETE, OYO STATE NIVERIA. -HON LAWAL LATEEF
Greetings to the students populace from the ever responsible students union leaders, a conglomerate of well cultured and energetic students' with the view of promoting the best interest of students in order to foster among students peaceful and brotherly co-existence for the development of healthy and resourceful community, utilize this medium to keep the student populace in know of the progress of her agitations so far.
The General Secretary While speaking on behalf of the entire Naisites, he congratulated the chairman on surviving a new and also appreciated the good work the chairman has been doing since his inception and he enjoined him to continue striving hard for better IBARAPA LAND.
Also, being the first notable youth ever produced as the chairman in the history of Ibarapa north local government , the General Secretary advised him not to waste the opportunity but to use his position to add positive impacts on the youths for the betterment of the towns under the local government.

The Executive Chairman, Hon. Akorede, appreciated the agenda and he shielded more light on the steps his administration has taken toward many of the agendas . He emphasized on the Adequate security of life and he assured the people of Ibarapa North that his administration will not relent on the insecurity issues affecting our land as proper measures have been put in place.
On the irregular power supply, As a union who understand that in an environment, power supply is essential,drastic steps are being taken to ensure that the duration of power supply availability is increased said the Chairman. Hon chairman urged the residents to bear with them as proper steps has been taking to restore the power supply to the town under his local government.
Student's Bursary:The Hon. Chairman spoke fluently on this matter that if the state government gives out the bursary through his office, we should be rest assured to have the bursary but if the state government didn't do anything about it, he promised to do something in his own capacity as he sees it as an achievement for his administration, if bursary is being paid.
NAIS UNION SECRETARIAT BUILDING :The Hon. Chairman also vowed to look at the union secretariat building in which he assured the fellow Naisites that necessary steps would be taken on it in due course.
In a nut shell,, the Hon.Chairman commended the Executive that their presence is truly felt, especially by taking out time to look for the betterment of the union and Ibarapa land. He also made it known to the General Secretary that the government of the day is a friendly government, urging the union to take chances by correcting wrongs to right and turn the faces of the Association in good conduct and moral standard.
The chairman equally pledged his support with respect to the activities of the union and heartily welcomed the union.

BREAKING: Asingangan of Igangan, Oba Abdul-Azeez Adeoye Is Dead | Idere Update
The head of Traditional Council of Igangan community in Ibarapa North Local Governmnent, Oba Abdul-Azeez Adeoye, Asingangan of Igangan Land has joined his ancestors, Idere Update can report.
The 76-year old monarch was pronounced dead in the early hours of Tuesday after months of underlying sickness.
Oba Abdul-Azeez was born on August 8, 1945 into a royal family in Baale's Compound, Igangan.
He started his primary school education at Methodist Basic School Igangan.
A family source told Idere Update that the late Asingangan proceeded to modern school in 1958 the same year he finished his primary school education.
Oba Abdul-Azeez ascended the throne of his forefathers on December 16, 1994 after the demise of late Asingangan, Oba Laisi Makanjuola.
The source further disclosed to Idere Update that the traditional ruler died of protracted illness.
It was reliably gathered that the late king was in his sick bed during the series of attacks on Igangan Community early and in the middle of 2021.
Igangan Community is one of the seven principal towns in Ibarapa land. It was in the news early 2021 when the Yoruba activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo popular known as Sunday Igboho issued quit notice to Seriki of Fulani in Igangan, Alhaji Saliu Abdukkadir.
Asingangan's demise is coming barely a week after the demise of Soun of Ogbomoso and Olowu of Owu that passed away on December 13 and December 15 respectively.
Among notable personalities that have mourned the demise of Oba Abdul-Azeez Adeoye is the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Governmnent, Hon. Lawal Lateef Akorede.
Akorede, in his official page, described the death of the late traditional ruler as a great loss to Ibarapa community and the entire Yoruba race.

ANAMBRA ELECTIONS: POLICE REVIEW SECURITY THREAT ANALYSIS
· As IGP orders deployment of 34,587 police personnel, 3 Police helicopters, others to Anambra State
The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc (+), NPM, fdc has ordered the mobilization and deployment of a total of Thirty-Four Thousand, Five Hundred and Eighty-Seven (34,587) police personnel, three (3) Police Helicopters, technical capabilities of the Police Airwing, the Force Marine and the Force Animal Branch, and other operational assets for the Anambra State Gubernatorial Elections slated for 6th November, 2021. The IGP made this known today, 14th October, 2021 at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, during the 2nd Strategic Police Managers Conference for Senior Police Officers from the rank of Commissioner of Police and above.
2. The IGP noted that the Force has conducted an Election Security Threat Analysis as part of preparations for the Elections and also developed a Strategic Election Security Operational plan to stabilize the prevailing security situation in Anambra State. These actions are aimed at creating a conducive and enabling environment that will guarantee the peaceful conduct of the elections. The IGP further noted that the 34,587 personnel, comprising conventional police officers, Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Special Forces personnel, Explosives Ordinance Unit (EOD), Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB), INTERPOL, Special Protection Unit (SPU) as well as Police Medical Teams, will be on ground to guarantee a hitch-free election. In addition, three (3) Police helicopters will be deployed for aerial surveillance amongst other unique operational capabilities.
3. The IGP has equally charged the Commissioners of Police in the thirty-six (36) States of the Federation and the FCT as well as their supervisory Assistant Inspectors General of Police to return to their Commands and strengthen the security architecture therein especially as the year gradually winds down and the Yuletide season draws closer. He also directed the Strategic Commanders to evolve proactive anti-crime approaches to enable the Force stay ahead against any anticipated security threats to the lives and property of the citizenry.
4. The IGP called on citizens to continue to support the Police in their various localities, noting that a robust police operational asset would be delivered soon which will no doubt re-energize policing operations toward improving public safety and security in the country. He assured the nation that the various policing reforms being vigorously pursued by the Force leadership will avail citizens with a more professional, effective, proactive and accountable Police Force.

A 21 year-old internet fraudster, Jatto Sheriff Umar, who posed as the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, in order to defraud unsuspecting victims via online relationship, was on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 convicted and sentenced to prison for offences bordering on personation and cybercrime.
The Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC, also secured the conviction of four other persons for similar offences. Baba Suwe's Unending Travails

Those who grew up during Nigeria's early comedy era of the 60's - 80's will remember popular names like Jagua, Papalolo, Aderupoko, Jacob, etc These men by all standard were great comedians who left unforgettable memory in the heart of those who watched their skits.
Later in the 90's came into limelight Babatunde Omidina aka Baba Suwe an indigene of Ikorodu, Lagos State. Baba Suwe became popular when he featured in popular Yoruba movies like Omolasan, Iru Esin just to mention a few.
Sadly little did this happy going man know some experiences that will later change his life was waiting ahead of him. In 2011 Suwe was caught up in the web of allegation of co***ne drug trafficking by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency. Though the allegation was described by Baba Suwe's laywer a human right activist Bamidele Aturu as been false and deformatory.
This bitter experience as recounted by the veteran actor was said to be very traumatic as he said men of NDLEA injected him several times in a bid for him to defecate so as to ascertain traces of co***ne.
The maltreatment according to him left him crippled.
While he was making frantic effort to come out of the NDLEA scandal Baba Suwe lost his soul mate and wife Omoladun who featured with him in many movies.
Baba Suwe's travail didn't stop there as the news of his death surfaced on social media. Debunking this Baba Suwe said he was sad that some people wanted him dead.
Later in 2019 he was flown abroad due to multiple health challenges with some well meaning Nigerians footing his hospital bill.
When I read yet another news today about Suwe abandoning a son and one of his wife that flunked around him in a picture post that was posted online I couldn't help but go listen to the popular song by Bob Dylan that says

On Nov 23 1953, Nigerian Lawyer, Bode Thomas died of Barking after insulting Alaafin of Oyo for not standing to greet him as Chairman of Oyo divisional council
Bode Thomas was an excellent lawyer, but he was also very arrogant. Because of his education, he was made chairman of the Oyo Divisional Council at one time, while the King of Oyo, Alaafin Adeyemi, (the father of the current Alaafin) was a mere member.
On Bode Thomas' first appearance in council after being appointed chairman, all council members stood up for him in deference, to welcome him, except Oba Adeyemi, who, for cultural reasons, should not show deference to anyone in public, not even his mother.
Bode Thomas rudely shouted at the King"...WHY WERE YOU SITTING WHEN I WALKED IN? YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO SHOW RESPECT?"
At that time, Bode Thomas was 34 years, while the Alaafin was in his 60's. The Alaafin felt very insulted.
He said "SE EMI LO NGBO MO BAUN?" (Is it me that you are barking at like that?)Bode Thomas responded by shouting some english sentences which the Alaafin didnt understand, so the Alaafin just told him... "MA GBO LO" (continue barking).
The confrontation happened on November 22, 1953.
Bode Thomas got home and started barking.
He barked and barked and barked like a dog all night until he died in the early morning of November 23, 1953.
