Human rights lawyer Dele Farotimi, facing defamation charges brought by legal luminary Afe Babalola SAN, received a boost after Afe Babalola withdrew his defamation suit. This action was widely lauded by notable figures and organizations, including the pan-Yoruba socio-political group Afenifere and Labour Party’s Peter Obi.

Peter Obi reportedly visited Afe Babalola to mediate the situation and later met with Farotimi at a correctional facility in Ado-Ekiti.
