CAN A CHRISTIAN REALLY PRAY WITHOUT CEASING?
Sometimes our responsibilities at work, home, in the church and other places are so heavy and time-filling that the answer that comes to mind whenever the question, as to whether praying without ceasing is possible, is asked is NO.
Nevertheless, it is a major instruction from our Lord Jesus that we should always do so without ceasing. Mere telling us to do so means He (Jesus) knows it is possible for us. Besides, there are Biblical methods that we share in this teaching with which we can enter, and even sustain, the realm of praying without ceasing.

DON'T WASTE YOUR PAINS

Develop a positive mindset to your current challenge. One major reason for your current storm could even be because it is currently time you passed through it. There is actually time also for pains in our life, just like there is time for pleasures.
"A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance. A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace." (Eccl. 3:4&8).

Although as christians we must love always but never hurt nor hate anyone, yet these verses are instructive that there is time for people to hate us, for friends to reject us, and even for enemies to wage war against us.

There is sometimes need for someone to withdraw to himself and not be interrupted by any of the things around, so as to come out with a product with which God could impact the world. If you have intention to be creative, such solitude that goes with tough storm is a major requirement for you to accomplish some fantastic and novel products because it helps incubation.

Painful mood from adversity provides us with such conditions. If you ever read literatures of the stories behind the popular hymns before, then you can easily understand this truth. The best of the hymns that keep stirring up faith and encouragement in believers until today were written by people going through the pains of storm.

There is a stage called incubation stage in problem-solving or, call it, creativity. This is a stage your mind gets detached from all internal and external interferences. Having been withdrawn to yourself, you can then choose to put all useless ideas and thoughts (offences, pains of abuse, bereavement, hurts, heartbreak, disappointments, fall, shameful experiences, etc) behind you and focus only on those ones needful (such as information, bitter experiences, and lessons gathered from challenges) for creativity, or problem-solving. Best coaches of girls against sexual abuse that I know are themselves victims of sexual abuse in the past.

Creative solutions to tough problems never come to mind so long as the conscious mind is busy with other activities. This is why social-medial-addicts are rarely found with significant creative products. Without this incubation period of problem solving, you may conclude on weak ideas and get them applied to creativity, or to solving problem, with poor results. With quiet and detached mind, incorrect and weak ideas are filtered off, while strong ideas are connecting to mind,-----during the process of deep thinking, reflecting, brooding, or brainstorming.

It will shock you to hear this: God Himself sometimes take advantage of such painful solitudes to release deeper revelations to His children. The Book of Revelation was written during the toughest adversity of John's exilation at the Island of Patmos. John Milton's popular poem titled "On His Blindness" was written during is depressive challenge of sight loss in 1652. Excellent artists, composers, writers, artistes, and human-right problem solvers have been reported to have become outstanding during emotional problems. Activists have written great books, while in prison, which they would otherwise not have written in a neutral or positive mood.

Pleasant emotions such as love, happiness, excitement have ability to boost a person's mind towards being creative or problem-solving to a certain degree. This is the level of creativity and problem-solving required for well-induced workers, for instance, to perform in an institution, because of shift to positive mood. Nevertheless, it has been found out that slightly negative emotions, that is slight emotional challenges, such as a slight depression, has a greater ability to boost creativity or problem-solving in a willing victim who has a positive mindset to storm.

Most true prophets of God, who are true problem-solvers are survivors of deep battles from the wicked. (See Judges 3:1-2). Do not give up on Jesus, do not terminate your life, but pray hard that Jesus calm your current storm (1 Peter 5:10). However, while this storm lasts, utilise your current pains as tool to creating intimate walk with Jesus (Hebrew 5:8) and fulfilling your destiny. May God answer your prayers. Amen.
