THE ASSOCIATION OF FORMER ELECTED COUNCILLORS (AFECO), ETINAN CHAPTER INAUGURATE HER 2024 WEEK PLANNING COMMITTEE

A five-man planning Committee for the 2024 AFECO week has been inaugurated with Hon Frank Attah as Chairman.

Inaugurating the Committee on Monday at FOOD EMBASSY - PLUS, the Chairman, Hon Akanuboh Affiah (CPM)_ charged the Committee members to bring their wealth of experience to bare and organize an epoch making event for the year. He went further to remind the Committee and the members present that the era of political non inclusiveness was over.

Hon Affiah used the medium to congratulate the newly sworn in Executive Chairman of Etinan Local Government Area, Hon Uko Umoh and his Vice, Hon. Imaobong Michael and prayed for a rewarding Tenure as they pilot the affairs of Etinan Local Government Area.

Responding on behalf of the Committee, the Chairman, Hon Frank Attah expressed his appreciation to the AFECO Chairman and the Executive members for finding them worthy to serve the Association in that capacity. Hon Attah pledged their readiness to deliver on the given mandate. Other members of the committee are; Hon. Prince Udofia, Hon. Idongesit Jameson, Hon. Idorenyin Thompson, while Hon. Usen Etuk serve as the Secretary.

Present at the Inauguration were the forum Vice Chairman, Hon Eno Okoko, Hon Aniefiok Ekpene, Hon Ini Udoekwere, Hon Itoro Matthew, Hon Uduak Udoh, Hon Idorenyin Usoro, Hon Ekpekpe Obot among others.

A'IBOM AT 37: HIS ROYAL MAJESTY EDIDEM AKPANOBONG CELEBRATES GOV ENO, AKWA IBOMITES ON ANNIVERSARY

The Paramount Ruler of Etinan Local Government Area, HRM. Edidem A. M. Akpanobong, has congratulated the government of Pastor Umo Bassey Eno and people of Akwa Ibom State on their 37th anniversary of state creation.

Edidem lauded the progress of the state under the impactful leadership of Governor Umo Eno, says he is a visionary leader. He also commends the Governor for the good work that he has been doing in the state.

Our state have been consistently progressing through successive administration. HRM particularly commended the crop of leaders the state has had in the present democracy that began in 1999 and the improvements by the present administration under Governor Umo Eno. We are indeed blessed.

*A'Ibom 2024 Local Government Election: We Have Saleable Candidates - PDP Chapter Chairman Of Etinan Canvas Vote For Party*

The Chapter Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Etinan Local Government Area, Hon. Pius Emmanuel (Paiko), urged all the eligible voters in Southern Iman Ward 1, Southern Iman Ward 2, and Urban Ward 2, to go out on 5th October , 2024, and vote for Hon. Uko Umoh as Chairman/ Hon. Imaobong Michael as Vice Chairman, and all the mentioned ward Councilors of the party.

He said, the period for party nominations had gone, what party have now are Saleable candidates. Pleaded with those that were vying any position in the party and couldn't make it, to let's go and join those party chosen.

On Tuesday, 17th September 2024, the Association of former elected Councillors in Etinan Local Government Area inaugurated new Executive members.
Administering the Oath of office in Etinan, Barrister Jonathan Ekpo, a Barrister and Solicitor charged them to adhere strictly to the provisions of the constitution of the Association.

In his acceptance speech, the newly sworn in Chairman of the Association, Hon. Akanuboh Affiah, attributed his success to the Almighty God and the founding fathers of the Association. He went further to appreciate members who found him worthy for the exalted chairmanship position to pilot the affairs of AFECO in Etinan Local Government Area.He thanked the past Executive and members for believing in his capacity and granting him the privilege to serve as the Chairman of the Association.
He thanked the performing Governor of Akwa Ibom State for his developmental strides across the State and promised to key into his 5 points Arise Agenda as well as support Etinan Local Government Administration to move Etinan forward

The inauguration of the new Executive members as witnessed by many prominent Ex Councilors in Etinan Local Government Area and their goodwill massages/words of advice came from Hon. David Etuk, the Returning Officer, Hon.(Obong ) Dennis Akpan, the village head of Ikot Ebo, Hon. Attah Frank, Hon Usen Etuk, Hon Prince Udofia among others. They all congratulated the new members on their successful election and subsequent swearing-in, also wished them a successful tenure in office

The groom, Hon. Ene Etuknwa, is the supervisor for Chieftaincy Affairs, in Etinan Local Government Council.

Frank Archibong, who represented the Executive Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on condolences visit to the Paramount Ruler of Ikono Local Government Area, His Royal Majesty, Edidem Etim Nnana Itang, who lost his beloved wife to death, Akwa Obonganwan Blessing Etim Itang.

The visit was marked by heartfelt condolences, prayers, and words of encouragement to the bereaved family.

Paul Ekpo, Kenneth Okon Score Conduct of Ward Congress High, Sue for Unity

The Member Representing Etinan/Nsit Ibom/Nsit Ubium Federal Constituency, Obong Paul Ekpo has scored high, conduct of the Statewide Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The Congress was held across every Ward in the State alongside Etinan Federal Constituency on Saturday, 27th July, 2024.

Touring venues of the Ward Congress in Etinan Local Government Area, the Federal House of Representative Member sued for peace, unity and accountability among leadership of the Wards.

The presence of peace, unity and accountability, Paul Ekpo said, will foster growth and development of the Wards.

He further upheld that accountability of the new leadership will also strengthen and ensure the success of the Party especially, at the forthcoming Local Government elections.

Also on the tour was the Political Leader of Etinan Local Government Area, Isantim Kenneth Okon who called for unity of purpose among the Executives to strengthen the Party.

Wards visited by the duo were Southern Iman Ward 1 where Udeme Akpan emerged Chairman, Southern Iman Ward 2 has Ubong Udo as Chairman, Northern Iman Ward 2, Urban Ward 5 and Northern Iman Ward 1.
