The global microblogging site, Twitter, has taken down the tweets by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, where he released the conversation between him and Eedris Abdulkareem.
Twitter revealed that the tweets, which also included Abdulkareemโs phone number, were taken down because the minister โviolated the rules of the site.
Keyamo, via a Twitter thread, attacked the Eedris Abdulkareem over his recently released song titled โJaja Jaga Reloadedโ which he said was โa poor attempt at blackmail.โ
According to Keyamo, the singer who is expressing against the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), once pleaded to be part of the Buhari Campaign Organisation which Keyamo organized in 2018.
Keyamo said, โIn 2018, when I was named the Director of Strategic Communications for Buhari Campaign Organisation, Eedris waxed a song in support of Buhari and wanted to join us, albeit for a fee. He then made desperate efforts to see me through text messages from his phone noโฆโ
The tweet has been taken down by Twitter. More so, the social media giant took down two other tweets from Keyamoโs thread because he shared a leaked chat that showed the singerโs telephone number.
Twitter revealed in a brief post, โThis tweet violated the Twitter Rules.โ Although the social media company said Keyamo violated Twitter rules, it did not state which of its rules was violated.
However, in a blog post, the company clarifies the process of taking down a tweet considered to have violated its rules.
โWhen we determine that a Tweet violated the Twitter Rules, we require the violator to remove it before they can tweet again. We send an email notification to the violator identifying the tweet(s) in violation and which policies have been violated.
โThey will then need to go through the process of removing the violating tweet or appealing our review if they believe we made an error,โ it wrote.
