Guys I need your Advice on This!

I'm sharing this with you all because I need your honest opinions and advice. Recently, I've been feeling unsettled about a situation in my marriage.

Before meeting my husband, I confessed my cooking struggles. Despite catering school, I still can't get it right! Negative comments on my food really get me down.

When planning a family gathering, my husband suggested cooking for our guests. I expressed concerns, reminding him about my struggles. To my surprise, he said his ex-girlfriend would cook!

I asked if we could hire someone else, but he insisted it had to be her or me. Now I'm filled with doubts.

Was he being thoughtful, or is there something more? Does he still have feelings for his ex? I worry that cooking will invite criticism, but having his ex cook might make me seem inadequate.
