**Artist Spotlight: Jopee Dairo**

Jopee Dairo, known as , is an Afrocentric visual and motion graphics artist based in Lagos, Nigeria. Deeply rooted in Pan-Africanism, he passionately embraces and celebrates African heritage and culture, a theme that resonates throughout his artwork, influencing both its visual aesthetics and underlying narratives.

Working primarily in the digital realm, Jopee employs African textile motifs and abstract patterns to create a diverse range of artistic expressions, including frames, posters, wearable fashion, and graphics and motion graphics used for various humanitarian campaigns and commercial ventures. His creations find homes in a multitude of settings, from domestic spaces to industries spanning technology, film, and fashion.

In November 2023, Jopee participated in an art exhibition titled 'Evolution' alongside two fellow artists in Lagos, Nigeria. His talent garnered attention, earning him a place among Bellafricana UK's esteemed list of eight African artists to watch in December 2023. Earlier that year, his contribution to the poster art for the film '100 of Us,' directed by the award-winning Best Okoduwa, earned him a nomination at the 2023 African Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA). Additionally, his design agency, 'Creativejoe Studios,' played a pivotal role as a partner in the UK Summer Popup 2023, hosted by Bellafricana, and is slated to participate in Afro Haven's Expo Event in Lier City, Belgium, scheduled for 2024.

With an unwavering commitment to reshaping the global narrative surrounding Africa, Jopee Dairo collaborates with fellow creatives and organizations who share his vision of reclaiming and retelling Africa's story, leaving an indelible mark on the artistic landscape.

Two additional abducted prospective National Youth Service Corps members from Akwa Ibom State who were kidnapped in Zamfara State on their way to the orientation camp in Sokoto State have regained freedom.
OnDecember 4 that barely four months after the eight graduates abducted on their way to the NYSC orientation camp in Sokoto State had yet to be released.

The fresh graduates, it was gathered, were abducted by the gunmen on August 17, on a highway in Zamfara State.

African Development Bank Group President Dr. Akinwumi Adesina has warned that a new EU carbon border tax could significantly constrain Africa’s trade and industrialization progress by penalizing value-added exports including steel, cement, iron, aluminum, and fertilizers.
Adesina said, “With Africa’s energy deficit and reliance mainly on fossil fuels, especially diesel, the implication is that Africa will be forced to export raw commodities again into Europe, which will further cause the de-industrialization of Africa.”
