*2024 Ede Day: Gov Adeleke Reveals Plans To Invite Sanwo-Olu, Makinde, Oyebanji, Diri, Other*

The Asiwaju of Edeland, Governor Ademola Adeleke, has revealed that he has started plans to invite his counterparts from different states across the country to celebrate with him 2024 Ede Day.

The governor made this known While he received the 2024 Ede Day Planning Committee at the government house, Oke-fia, on Friday.

The governors to be invited according to Governor Adeleke are, Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Ekiti State, Abiodun Oyebanji and Governor of Bayelsa State, Duoye Diri.

Addressing the planning committee, Governor Adeleke said "I'm so happy to see some vibrant youths mixed together. I want you all to know the fact that you are nominated to contribute to the development of Ede.

"See the position you're occupying now as a great service, so, we've to have the fear of God, and let's be doing good."

He called on all indigenes of Ede to support all programs aimed at the development of Edeland saying " Let's come together and work for the progress of Ede. What we want is development and Ede's interest should be protected."

Speaking on the giant stride his administration has done for Ede, Governor Adeleke told his kinsmen "You will be proud anywhere you go as an indigene of Ede because your governor is doing well.

"I'm giving you go ahead and approving the date of our Ede day should be December 7th.

"We pray that our dual carriage will be ready for use before the day," the governor said.

The very elated Planning Committee Chairman, Hon.Lukman Afolabi, in his own address, told Governor Adeleke "In the history of EDE, you have done what our forefathers could have done, you made our dream come to reality, we have been dreaming of dual carriage road but you made it possible, we thank you, your excellency.

"You are the Asiwaju of Edeland, there is nothing we can do until you give us the go ahead.. this is the reason why the central working committee is paying you a visit.

"We have members of PDP, APC, Labor Party here … we are not here because of politics but for the development of our dear hometown."

It would be recalled that Afolabi promised that this year Ede Day will be unique in the history of the annual celebration.

2024 Ede Day Planning Committee Pays Courtesy Visit To Yeyeluwa

…..Chief Mrs. Modupeola Sanni Adeleke was appointed as Grand Mother

The Chairman of the 2024 Ede Day Central Committee, Alh Hon. Lukman Afolabi has commended the endless support of Yeyeluwa Dupe Adeleke toward the development of her hometown, Ede.

During the visit, Dr. Nurein Lawal, Secretary of the Planning Committee, thanked God for the new development in Ede and said he's so happy to associate with her and also have the opportunity to call her mother.

Afolabi eulogies Yeyeluwa said she has made everyone succeed not only in Ede but in Osun state generally. Afolabi describes Yeyeluwa as a very unique person and that's how God created her.

"We’re here today to celebrate with you New Ede, we’re not only celebrating your personality but we’re celebrating as one of the people God used for the development of our dear town (Ede).

"Yesterday, we flagged off the Education program for EdeDay 2024 to discover the talent given to our children, a lot of people appeared at the town hall of that flag-off and we also saw the presence of Adeleke University Registrar where he delivered a speech and we’re so happy, that show that this year Ede day will be sweeter than the past.

"I want to sincerely thank you once again for staying with us, Ede Day has settled. We have to show our appreciation as the grandmother of the day, so we’re here to present a special honor as the grandmother of the day Ede Day 2024.

"I'm always proud anywhere that I'm from Ede because all your prayers are always answered. Ede indigenes should be proud, I'm always proud and to say that I'm from Ede

"I pray may we witness this coming Ede Day 2024 and you will not labor in vain" Yeyeluwa concluded.

Earlier in his opening remarks, Dr. Lawal praised Yeyeluwa and said her family has been magnanimous. “We discovered Abere Soose at the level of the descendant union to lead this year's Ede Day because he's one of the vibrant youth in Ede, in the very limited time we have seen him, he performed excellently.

"I thank you ma, because you didn't only develop him Morally, and economically but you've developed him in a sense, in management and capabilities", Dr. Nurien Noted.

The visit concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs Asanat Ola-Mummy and she thanked God on behalf of the Planning Committee and expressed appreciation to Yeyeluwa for his swift acceptance of the invitation.

2024 Ede Day: Ataoja Of Osogbo, Oba Olanipekun Accepts Nomination As Royal Father of The Day

As planning committee pays a courtesy visit to his palace in Osogbo

The Ataoja of Osogboland, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, has expressed his readiness to be the royal father of the day for the 2024 Ede Day annual celebration.

The prominent monarch made this known last week when the Planning Committee led by its chairman, Hon Lukman Afolabi, paid him a courtesy visit at his place in Osogbo.

Ataoja, who disclosed his cordial relationship with the Timi of Edeland, HRM, Oba Adesola Lawal Laminisa, said he would have rejected the nomination because he is still mourning the death of Chief Ajadi Badmus.

According to Oba Olanipekun, “I’m very happy and accept this nomination as the royal father of the day.

"I and Timi of Ede Land are very close, I suppose not to have accepted this nomination because we just lost one illustrious son of Osogbo land, Chief Ajadi Badmus.

"I and Timi was with him a day before he received the call of Allah, but there is nothing we can do but to pray for Allah to forgives him and place him Aljanat fridaus" Oba Olanipekun added.

Chairman of the Planning Committee,Hon. Lukman Afolabi, appreciated Oba Olanipekun for maintaining synergy and close relationship with Timi of Edeland.

He prayed that Osogbo will continue to experience rapid development as the state capital.

Earlier in his remarks, Secretary of the Planning Committee, Dr. Nurein Lawal, emphasized the importance of keeping Oba Olanipekun informed about the upcoming December 7 Ede Day celebration.

He praised Oba Olanipekun for his contributions to the Osogbo community just as he highlighted the significance of the Ede Day celebration.

Those in attendance are ; Chairman Publicity Committee, Comr. Sodiq, Chairman of the venue committee Comr Sikiru, chairperson of the Mobilization committee Mrs. Olamummy, chairperson Entertainment committee, Alhaja Moriliat Oyelade, Feyda President Comr Afolabi Waliu, Hon. Usman Alabi, Aand members of Sub-committees among others.
