2. The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal has reserved judgment on the petition which Peter Obi, Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), filed to challenge the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the February 25 election. 5. The acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun on Tuesday warned against violent protests. He ordered police commissioners to beef up security. This is coming as the Nigerian Labour Congress vowed to begin its nationwide protest on Wednesday.

YOU ONLY LOSE WHEN YOU GIVE UP

Remember this over and over again; "you only lose when you give up." If you do not give up, you will win in the most remarkable situations, in time to come. The fight is in the mind, it's not physical. As long as your passion thrives and your mind refuses to accept defeat, you become unstoppable.

Do not worry about making mistakes, mistakes do happen to anyone. Each setback will allow you to analyze the situation and evaluate yourself. Do not waste your time on haters, it is all part of your struggle to do better and be better.

There is no big deal in failure, learn your lesson, get up and move on. You will get stronger each time you pick yourself up. you will come back 💪 stronger; ready to flourish.

Sometimes you got to fail to succeed better.

Also do remember this; that good "things don't come easy
You fight sometimes for what is justifiable.
HAPPY NEW MONTH TO YOU ALL

By Basil Agim Okongor

The People Democratic Party (PDP) Special Committee set up for inspection of election materials used in the conduct of the March 18 Governorship and House of Assembly polls in Cross River State has berated the
Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) for deliberately frustrating the committee from executing its mandate despite a subsisting court order

Governorship Election Tribunal seating in the state had granted PDP and its Governorship Candidate Senator Sandy Onor relief to inspect relevant sensitive materials used in the said-elections.

The relief constituted one of the prayers sought for by the plaintiff in the Petition No:EPT/CR/GOV/03M/2023 dated April 4,2023 duly filed by Sen. Sandy Onor, the PDP governorship candidate, before the four man Tribunal led by Hon Justice J.O. Okeaya Inneh with Hon Justice M.L.Omar and Hon Justice O. O.Olatawura as members

Briefing newsmen in Calabar on Friday on its efforts so far, the
Secretary of the PDP Special Committee Inspection team, Chris Agbor, said all attempts made by his members to inspect the listed materials have been met by brick wall and accused the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof Gabriel Yomere, and INEC Head of Operations of playing hide-and-sick-game with them.

Agbor said when they first interfaced with the INEC team after the order was duly served, the REC had promised to give them six days to inspect the materials, “but surprisingly, the commission has deliberately refused us access to the BVAS

NSCDC arrest female suspect with 3 explosives in Cross River

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Cross River has arrested one Aniebet John, 31, with three suspected Improvised Explosive Devices, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Commandant of NSCDC in the state, Mr Samuel Fadeyi, who paraded the suspect at the command’s headquarters on Tuesday in Calabar, said the suspect was arrested by NSCDC personnel on June 25.

Fadeyi said that the suspect was arrested with the three explosives including three connecting components.

According to him, the suspect was arrested in Akamkpa Local Government Area (LGA) of the state while trying to waybill the explosives to an un-identified source in Obubra LGA of the state.

“The lady was trying to send the device she had sealed in a nylon bag to Obubra LGA.

“We all know in Cross River as at now that Obubra LGA is exclusive because of the conflict between Nko community in Yakurr LGA and Onyadama in Obubra local government.

“Sending explosives through public transport is illegal, hence we had course to intercept this lady who said she was sent by somebody to send it to another person.

“We are on the trail of the other suspects who are also involved in it but now at large,” he said.

The Commandant said that investigation carried out revealed that the husband of the suspect is a blast master who works in a construction company.

He explained that the suspected explosives were some of those used in one of the construction companies in Akamkpa which the husband might have smuggled.

He further said that the command would transfer the matter to the Department of State Service for further investigation.

“As a corps, we have a unit called the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive Unit which makes us familiar with some of the explosive in their packages.

“When explosive moves, the National Security Adviser knows about it.

“The National Security Adviser informs the security agencies about the origin, route and destination so that we can keep track of it and ensure they are used for the purpose.

“This explosive device is capable of causing more harm to humans and properties if detonated,” he said.

He advised residents in the state to be vigilant about their safety and to report any suspected person or groups of persons around them to security agencies.

The suspect said that her husband, whgave her the suspected devices to waybill to someone in Obubra local government.

She explained that she had no further knowledge of the device aside what the husband used it for at the construction company where he works.

“This is the first time my husband would be sending me to do this kind of waybill’’, she said. (NAN)
