In Nigeria, there has never been a political party that dominates the people of this country like APC --- Habibi Assufiyu.

Research has shown that there has never been a political party in this country which in a short period of time gained fame and gained acceptance among the masses like the ruling party; In the same way, there has never been a political party where people have also taken great lessons under its rule like the current ruling party.

In spite of the many promises and good wishes that the people of this government have made for the people of this country to enjoy life, but the serious problems that this government inherited from the previous government, have doubled their severity to 90% looking at the security problem, poverty, lack of jobs, and giving importance to the education sector. Currently, students stay at home because of the unnecessary strike.

With this result that the ruling party has given to Nigerians, the failure of the people of the government is seen in every aspect, Moreover, they are the people who have deceived the poor and are looking for more opportunities and the support to rule this country.

Reader, what is their position in your opinion, do you have any provision for them as a Nigerian in 2023?

AU MUST BE REFORMED TO STAY RELEVANT – PRESIDENT BUHARI

President Muhammadu Buhari has called for a comprehensive reform of the structures and operations of the African Union, to make it more functional in meeting targets, warning that the organization would become stale, except it becomes more result oriented.

In an intervention at the ongoing two-day 34th Summit of the AU, held virtually, the President said:
“As your excellences are no doubt aware, global realities demand that the AU be overhauled, if it must remain relevant in intergovernmental processes. We must work concertedly to ensure a productive, self-sufficient and purpose driven organization that will fully serve the interests of the people.

“As we commence the operationalization of this new structure and system, Nigeria demands a truly reformed, efficient and effective AU Commission, one that is fully committed to the discharge of its duties and responsibilities.’’

President Buhari commended President Paul Kagame of Rwanda for presenting a special report on the need to reform the AU.

The President also appreciated the support of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in the election of Amb. Bankole Adeoye as Commissioner, Political Affairs, Peace and Security.

President Buhari notes, with gratitude, the overwhelming and historic endorsement of the ambassador with 55 votes, an indication that all the members voted, while congratulating the career diplomat, who also serves as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the AU and UNECA.

President Buhari urges Amb. Adeoye to deploy his knowledge and experience in foreign policy and diplomacy, particularly on bilateral and multilateral issues, to bring value to the new position, with an assurance of the country’s support.

The President congratulates all elected members of the African Union Commission, 2021, which include the Chairman, Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chad, and Deputy Chairman, Dr Monique Nsanzabaganwa, Rwanda.

PRESIDENT BUHARI RE-APPOINTS HADIZA BALA USMAN AS NPA MD, APPROVES BOARD MEMBERS FOR NPA, TCN

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the re-appointment of Hadiza Bala Usman as Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), for additional five-year tenure.

Also approved is the reconstitution of the Non-Executive Board of the NPA, with Mr Emmanuel Olajide Adesoye (from South-west zone) as Chairman.

Other members of the Board are: Prince Ekenyem Nwafor-Orizu (South-east zone), Akinwunmi Ricketts (South-south zone), Ghazali Mohammed Mijinyawa (North-East zone), Mustapha Amin Dutse (North-West zone), and Abdulwahab Adesina (North-Central zone).

The President has equally approved Board members for the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), who will oversee the selection of a new Managing Director for the organization. They are: Muhammad K. Ahmad, OON, (Chairman), Chief Henry Okolo, Imamudden Talba, Ambassador Usman Sarki, Ali Haruna, Engr. Simeone Atakulu, Zubaida Mahey Rasheed, Dr Mustapha Abiodun Akinkunmi, Engr. Oladele Amoda, and Dr Nkiru Balonwu.

Other members of the TCN Board are: Representatives of Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Ministry of Power, Bureau for Public Enterprise, FGN Power Company Limited, and Executive Management of TCN.
