Our Journey: A Sweet Beginning

Our story began in 2020, courtesy of a somewhat mischievous introduction by my big brother during the post-COVID era. Initially, I misinterpreted the situation, thinking they were orchestrating my departure from my father’s house. To test the waters, I allowed him to visit during my final year in Auchi, and to my surprise, Tochi proposed almost immediately.

In the aftermath of that unexpected proposal, I suggested we pray about it. After our first meeting, I made a call to ensure he got home safely, only to promptly block him. Our encounters in church were marked by his friendly smiles and inquiries about my elusive phone network issues. This cat-and-mouse game continued for a while, with him persistently staying in touch, and our prayers becoming a shared ritual.

Fast forward to June 2023, post-service and a bit curvier, according to his charming observations. Seeing him in person and the recurring dreams made me realize that there was no escaping fate this time. Loving him effortlessly became a reality—his sweetness and care adding an extra layer of joy to my life. I endearingly call him ‘Shuga,’ and I’m eagerly looking forward to the day when I’ll officially become his wife. 😁
