Given the foregoing, it is Unfortunate that Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah's media aides would rush to social media in an effort to twist the facts. Surprisingly, the majority of them have stubbornly failed to see that history repeats itself and that Ifeanyi Ubah has a history of using violence during elections. It is on record that in 2015, Ifeanyi Ubah and his thugs assaulted his political opponents at the Ihiala LGA Collation Center in an effort to stop INEC workers from collating the results of the NASS Election at the Ihiala INEC office. Two lives were abruptly lost in that attack. Furthermore, he was observed moving from one polling unit to another in Nnewi,Orumba north and south on election day, intimidating and dissuading the supporters of his political rivals from casting their desired ballots.

We hereby call on all law enforcement agencies to bring Ifeanyi Ubah to face the wrath of the law. He owes a lot of people money, and his obstinate desire to keep his seat in the Senate at any means is becoming intolerable. We are prepared to uphold the law in order to bring about justice for the people.

Re: Assassination Attempt on Chief Chris Uba by Sen Ifeanyi Ubah's Political Thugs at INEC Office in Nnewi North L.G.A Secretariat

We strongly condemn the attempt made on the life of the 2023 PDP Anambra South senatorial candidate, Chief Chris Uba on Sunday 27th February, 2023; by his opponent Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah of the YPP and his gang of thugs.

It all began when Chief Chris Uba came to the Nnewi North LGA office of the INEC to file a petition against Sen. Ifeanyi Uba in response to the regrettable level of violence, intimidation, and thuggery at collation centres throughout the Anambra South Senatorial Zone in an effort to skew the results in his favour.

Chief Chris Uba arrived at the INEC office, handed in his petition and greeted Sen. Ifeanyi Uba at the gate before getting into his SUV to leave the premises when it was noticed that three cars had been used to block the entrance to the Local Government headquarters. While trying to determine who had used the cars for the barricade, Sen. Ifeanyi Uba stormed out of the collation hall and began hitting Chief Chris Uba's car while yelling orders at his thugs who were armed with Assault riffles (AK47) to shoot at Chief Chris Uba’s cars and set them on fire.

Thugs numbering about 40 to 50 arrived at the venue on Senator Ifeanyi Uba’s invitation and attacked Chief Chris Uba's team members, ransacked all the our cars and made away with valueables as he made a last-ditch effort to injure Hon Chris Azubogu and Chief Chris Uba who were at the venue to submit petitions to protest what happened during the voting process. Thank God for The Nigerian Army personnel assigned to the Nnewi North INEC office on election duty, who also removed Hon Chris Azubogu out of danger with DSS Operatives eventually got the situation under control while Senator Ifeanyi Uba was fuming about. As at the time of this report all Chief Chris Uba and Hon Chris Azubogu 's car are still at Nnewi North LGA with the tyres shot and some of the cars damaged by thugs dressed in uniform.
