ACE BROADCASTER TUNJI FATILEWA IS DEAD

The ace broadcaster and experienced drama artist Tunji Fatilewa is dead.

He died following protracted illness that made him bedridden for months. He cut his teeth in broadcasting from Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State BCOS for many years.

He was a friend and consultant to newspot newspaper. Tunji a workaholic was an expert in producing first class documentaries.

In his late 60, he hailed from Osun State. He established a thriving TUNJI FATILEWA ASSOCIATES LIMITED with his headquarters in Abuja.

Smollete Sh*ttu Alamu a long time friend of Tunji said he had lost a bosom friend. ” I was with him last week in Abuja and was not happy with his state of health, prayed with him and hoped for miracle to happen. He is gone, he has gone to rest. May his soul rest in peace. ”

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION TRIBUNAL DISMISSES 25% FCT VOTE REQUIREMENTS

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja has dismissed the petition alleging that the requirement for presidential candidates to be declared winners of the election is that they must secure 25% of the votes cast in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Reports claimed that the tribunal chairman, Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani, said in a ruling on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, that there is no special status attached to the FCT and that it is equal to every other state in Nigeria.

The ruling was made in response to a petition filed by the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, who challenged the election of President Bola Tinubu. Obi had argued that Tinubu should be disqualified from being president because he did not win 25% of the votes cast in the FCT.

WHY I BATHE WITH BLOOD-49 -YEAR OLD OGUN MAN CONFESSES

A 49-year-old man, Ganiyu Shina of Oguji Street, Obantoko, Abeokuta, arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command for bathing with blood at a community river, in Kotopo area of Odeda Local Government, said he was instructed to do so by a herbalist.

The suspect was arrested when members of the community sighted him at the River bank, where he parked his Nissan commercial vehicle, came out with a local sponge and a container filled with blood, and started bathing with it.

Immediately he discovered that some people were watching him, he took to his heels but was chased and apprehended by members of the community.

A call was made to the police at Aregbe divisional headquarters by a member of the community, and the DPO, SP Bunmi Asogbon quickly led the patrol team to the scene, from where the suspect was brought to the station.

On interrogation, the suspect claimed to have a spiritual problem, and that a herbalist instructed him to perform the ritual.
He claimed further that the blood in his possession was not human, but that of a cow.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has directed that the remaining blood should be taken for laboratory analysis, to ascertain whether it’s human blood or not.

The CP also commended members of the community for not taking laws into their hands, he, therefore, assured them that the suspect will be properly investigated

IBB'S EX SPOKESMAN, DURO ONABULE IS DEAD

Chief Duro Onabule, a veteran journalist and a former spokesperson to former military head of state, Ibrahim Babangida, is dead.

Onabule, according to a close associate, Eric Teniola, died on Tuesday at the age of 83.

“Chief Duro Onabule died this evening,” a family source told Newsmen

The cause of his death is unknown as of the time of filing this report.

Onabule was born in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, on September 27, 1939.

He attended CMS Grammar School and School of Journalism, London.
