NSCDC personnel allegedly assaults woman in Plateau state

A personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has been accused of assaulting a shop owner, Mrs. Joy Owolabi, in Jos, Plateau state.

The incident which happened at the Nanmwa Junction, Abattoir area in Jos South local government area on Friday, September 2, left her with serious injuries on her eyes and other parts of her body.

According to Vanguard, before the Friday incident, the yet-to-be identified personnel came to the betting office next to the victim’s shop last month and parked his official motorcycle in front of Mrs Owolabi’s shop, blocking her entrance. She said she called his attention to re-park the motorcycle but she was allegedly ignored and an argument ensued.

According to the publication, on that Friday, the personnel returned to the betting shop with his colleague and parked his motorcycle in the similar manner that the woman complained about. The incident led to an exchange of words between him and the shop owner.

Instead of parking his motorcycle properly, the victim and some eyewitnesses alleged he punched the victim, pushed her to the ground and started flogging her with a wire as neighbours and passersby watch helplessly. None could rescue the woman as the assaulter and his colleague were armed.

Narrating her ordeal, Mrs. Owolabi said people could not rescue her as the NSCDC personnel and his colleague were armed.

“I was in my shop on the 2nd of September, 2022, at about noon, I saw two men in uniform, they were from the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, they rode into my shop. One stood by the roadside and the second one came to the entrance of my shop.

"They came with an official motorcycle, when the man parked, blocking the entrance of my shop, I went and met him and said please, help me re-park this motorcycle because the way you parked, I cannot enter the shop,"

Pastor arrested for defiling and impr€gnating the 12-year-old daughter of his church member who went to him for deliverance

A 48-year-old Pastor of "The Light House Gospel Church" Oluwo, Owode Egba, Pastor Michael Abiodun, has been arrested by men of Ogun state Police Command for allegedly defiling and impregnating the 12-year-old daughter of a member of his church.

It is reported that the suspect was arrested following information received at Owode Egba divisional headquarters that, the victim's mother joined the church as a result of a spiritual problem that led to the de@th of two of her daughters.

In order to prevent the victim from the same calamity, she ran to the church for deliverance. On a fateful day, the Pastor who is a father-of-three asked the victim's mother to send her to him for special prayers, but on getting there, the Pastor took her into a room within the church and f%rcefully had carnal knowledge of her which resulted in pregnancy.

Upon the information, the DPO Owode Egba division, CSP Olasunkanmi Popoola, detailed his detectives to the scene where the randy Pastor was promptly arrested. On interrogation, he confessed to the crime but blamed it on the devil. He further confessed to being the one that disvirgined the victim, a JSS 2 student.

The mother of the victim explained to the police that she didn't know her daughter was pregnant until seven months after. The victim, who was delivered of a baby three months ago informed the police that she was thre@tened by the Pastor with a dire consequence if she informed anybody about what had transpired between them, and that was the reason she didn't tell her mother.

Troops Neutralize Scores of Terrorists in Chikun LGA.

- Arms and motorcycles recovered

- KDSG praises tenacious troops

Security forces recorded a major success in ongoing operations against terrorists, as scores of bandits were neutralized by ground troops and air assets during an operation in Galbi, Chikun local government area.

This was conveyed in an operational feedback to the Kaduna State Government from the security agencies.

According to the feedback, troops of the Operation Forest Sanity supported by assets of the Nigerian Air Force conducted clearance operations on an identified terrorist enclave in Galbi general area.

During their advance, the security forces crossed River Kaduna and ran into stiff resistance from the insurgents.

After a fierce firefight, scores of terrorists were confirmed neutralized as the military forces prevailed.

Two General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMGs), three AK47 rifles and seven motorcycles were recovered from the enclave of the neutralized bandits.

The Kaduna State Government expressed excitement at the feedback, and praised the troops for their tenacity in this significant victory against the enemy forces.

The Government thanked the troops, air force crews, police personnel, intelligence operatives, and local vigilante members who contributed to the success of the mission. The Government urged the security forces to increase the momentum and vanquish the terrorists for good.

Troops will continue clearance operations in the general area, and other identified areas of interest across the state.

The Kaduna State Government hereby encourages residents to volunteer useful information on activities or movement of terrorists to security agencies. Citizens may also contact the Kaduna State Security Operations on 09034000060 or 08170189999.

Ghanaian Official Goes Missing in Birmingham After 2022 Commonwealth Games

An official of the Ghana Athletics Association cannot be found after the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. The delegate who is yet to be identified is believed to have absconded after the games in England.

According to 3sports, the official is parts of athletes and delegates from participating countries to have left camp without notice.

“We’ve received a total of 17 missing people reports from visiting Commonwealth Games delegations – 13 competitors and four other delegation members. Of those, nine have since been found and eight remain outstanding," a force spokesperson said as quoted by 3 Sports.

“We’re making enquiries alongside immigration officials to ensure they are safe and well.”

A Point of Sale operator, pastor Busari Shuaib Olawale Peter, has been shot dead by armed robbers in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

It was gathered that the gunmen killed the 45-year-old pastor and made away with the food pack he was holding which they thought contained cash.

A resident, who identified himself as Ojikutu, told TheCable, that the deceased had just opened his shop on Friday, August 12, 2022, when the gunmen attacked him.

"Pastor normally comes early in the morning. He did the same today and soon after he opened the shop, the two gunmen on a motorcycle approached him,” he said.

"At gunpoint, they asked him to give them the bag in his hand and he did immediately. However, unknown to the robbers, the bag contained Pastor’s food, while the one containing money was somewhere in the shop

"They took the food bag and as they were about to leave, I think Pastor told them that they would be apprehended. That was when they shot him at a close range

"The sound of the gun brought the robbery to our attention, but before we could come out, they had sped away. He was taken to a hospital nearby but a doctor told us they would not admit him as he was already dead."

Unknown assailants suspected have abducted, r***d and killed a student of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Ogun State, identified as Happiness Okwa.

It was gathered that the ND II student of Mass Communication, won the Miss MAPOLY beauty contest on August 3, 2022.

The victim was said to have been kidnapped on her way to Ipara, in Ode Remo, on Tuesday evening, August 9, by some gunmen who allegedly r***d her before killing her.

The MAPOLY Students Union President, Sodiq Ajani, confirmed the incident in Abeokuta on Saturday, August 13.

Ajani in a statement jointly signed with the Public Relations Officer, Joy Okolie, said the deceased was kidnapped three days ago while going to visit a movie location.

"Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Students Union (MAPSU) announces the untimely death of Miss Happiness Odeh, a Mass Communication student of MAPOLY.

"According to reports, she was abducted along Iperu road to her destination. The deceased left Abeokuta three days ago to visit a movie location at Ipara, Ode-Remo, with the consent of her parents

"Contrary to the rumours flying around, her death is not related to her status as the new Miss MAPOLY. She won the award on the 3rd of August and the movie location she attended has nothing to do with the beauty pageantry on campus

"We commiserate with her family, friends and colleagues. May Almighty God grant us all the fortitude to bear this painful loss. Continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord,” the statement read.

The SUG President further explained that the murderers took away the victim’s phone.

According to him, the police have commenced investigations, making efforts to get the assailants arrested.

Ajani disclosed that the body of the slain student had been deposited at the morgue of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu.

Police Dismisses Officer Caught In Viral Video Searching Commuter's Phone Despite IGP's Order

The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed Force No. 509745 Corporal Opeyemi Kadiri attached to Dolphin Divisional Headquarters, Lagos Police Command for gross misconduct, disobedience to lawful order, and assault on a member of the public captured in a viral video on August 3, 2022.

The dismissed officer who, enlisted into the Force on 6th December, 2016, was caught searching a commuter’s phone by the road side contrary to the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, fdc, to that effect. He equally assaulted the commuter who attempted to bring the order to his notice. His dismissal takes effect from today the 12th of August, 2022.

The True Story: The Man Killed By His Wife’s Le***an Partner In Onitsha.

On the 9th of August, a young man in his 30s died after a fight with a lady in Onitsha – a city in Anambra State, Nigeria. This tragedy hit the headline and trended everywhere on Social Media. It made it to almost every National Tabloid with the Title: Woman Stabs Le***an Partner’s Husband To Death In Onitsha. And all of them – and bloggers that amplified the story – reported that the man caught his wife and her le***an partner in the act, and that led to his murder. This is a work of mischief. No matter how unpopular it will become, we should know what really transpired.

Ikechukwu Onuma, popularly known as Ayaya, was a young man in his 30s. He married Nkem in 2019, and both lived in Ogboli Road by Ibekwe Street in Onitsha.

Not too far from their house lived one Ebele Onochie – a tomboy. Ebele is a close friend of Nkem, and people accused her of le***anism. The neighborhood also believed that Nkem, Ayaya’s wife, is one of her bedmates. This street-talk created bad blood between Ayaya and Ebele.

On the 9th of August, Ayaya was at a birthday party. His friend little boy was the celebrant. He was drinking with friends when his wife, Nkem, called him. She reported an issue concerning Ebele. Believing he has seen a reason to teach Ebele a lesson, Ayaya left his friends at the event and rushed back home.

There was no electricity in the street on that day. And the time was already after 8 pm. Nkem sent a boy to buy fuel for the generator. While on his way, Ebele confronted the boy. Learning that Nkem sent him on the errand, she took the can, and the money for the fuel and instructed him to tell Nkem that she (Ebele) seized the items. And that was why Nkem called her husband.

Ayaya was a strong man. Ebele was not a match for him. He rushed to Ebele’s compound to teach her a lesson. Both of them created a scene. Ebele had a penknife with her. In the altercation’s course, she stabbed Ikechukwu.

It was late and dark. No one knew Ayaya was losing a lot of blood. And when they noticed he was bleeding, they didn’t know how serious it was. He (Ikechukwu) walked to a chemist’s shop and was told the injury was fatal. They were still arranging for a means of transportation when Ikechukwu slumped.

They rushed him to Hope Hospital in Modebe Avenue, Onitsha. Unfortunately, he was confirmed dead on arrival.
