COVID DIARIES. Entry II

It was the last day before the first shutdown began. Tension was tons thick. You could smell and feel it - even the sky put on the appropriate wallpaper for the season - a dusty yellow. The only 'working' bank in Ifo was full of people huddled together, overworking the tired looking ATMs. There were angry bursts of people shouting on each other, the emotionless machines and the bank. The fear of being left with no resource was greater than the fear of a foreign disease.

After an hour of unsuccessfully trying to withdraw anything. Paga will do it and it did.

I sat in a tricycle on my way home, passed the market place that was in a frantic frenzy and I saw...just for brief number of seconds; a mad woman sitting gently on a piece of rock, probably pondering on all the madness going on around.

She left my eyesight but moved to my mind. I could help but wonder if...

Stay at home will be applied to her (and people in her condition)?

food relief from the government will get to her?

She would ever be quarantined?

the Corona Virus can even affect her sef?

I don't know if it has been scientifically proven but I have seen many a times the mentally unstable ones eating things that should keep a normal person in the hospital for weeks. I have seen them walking upright with gaping wounds that should keep a person on life support or at least in a wheelchair.

And I notice a physically weak person who suddenly runs mad suddenly has his speed and physical strength amplified beyond bars.

This is not normal! Scientifically or Physically speaking.

I have seen, I lie not. A mad man walking on the middle of the road, na tipper shift for the man. The man did not flinch, continued walking. Everyone in our bus opened their mouths agape.

I read an article on how Fear weakens the Immune System.

And if I know one thing, I know one thing mad people lose is fear. Whatever spirit is empowering their present state takes Fear away to a certain degree and they have an immunity that we normal people don't have OR THAT WE ARE NOT CONSCIOUS OF.

It will not be surprising. Mask o, Quarantine o, Hunger o. Normal people will die and Mad woman will survive.

Like I said... What of if we are not conscious of

'The Spirit that Raised Jesus from the Dead that dwells in Us...'

I wish we believers can be that 'mad'

Fear not. This too shall soon pass

Kogi : Accredited Voters 40,000, APC Got 120,000Votes. INEC, Why? - PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has cautioned to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the alleged “fictitious 112,000 votes being bandied from Okene Local Government to favour the All Progressives Congress (APC),” describing it as a recipe for a crisis of unprecedented proportion.

In a statement issued by Kola Ologbondiyan, National Publicity Secretary in Abuja on Sunday, the party maintained nobody can accept the provocative allocation of 112, 000 votes to APC in Okene where the number total accredited voters stands at about 40,00O and which also recorded very low turn out of voters.

The PDP cautioned INEC not to ever declare such an offensive and unsupported result as such would be a huge embarrassment on the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and the management of the commission.

“Our party hopes that this apparent moves to allocate fictitious result to the APC in Okene is not a reflection of the allegations in the public space that Governor Yahaya Bello and the APC had offered INEC a bribe of N3.5 billion to alter result and apportion conjured figures to the APC,” the PDP declared.

It further cautioned INEC to note that any attempt to declare the figures being bandied for the APC will point to nothing but the validation of the bribery allegation.

“The only way out is for INEC to declare only the results from votes cast and declared at the polling units,” the party stated.
