I am 26years old and have never voted in any election. I had a strong apathy for politics and couldn't be bothered to vote.

This was not because I didn't have strong opinions or understand political ideas but because I was self righteous and foolishly felt I was more aware than the individuals who participate in the process.

In late 2019, I finally realized that I wasn't at all better. My lack of participation doesn't help the system and whatever doesn't help the system does not help me. Nobody cares about my self righteousness, only my participation. It is only through participation that I would gain a seat at the table and my thoughts eventually matter.

I might not join a political party or support a candidate anytime soon. I have simply committed to take the next logical step. To become an active citizen in my local and national community and become a rallying voice for other self righteous young people to also become active.
