Distinguished Senator Mohammed Sani Musa attends One-Day Stakeholders Retreat of Senate Committee on Appropriation on 2024 APROPRIATION BILL.

The Retreat tagged "Budget and Budgetary Process: Improved Outcome in 2024" was a fora that brought ministers and head of agencies to have better knowledge of Budgeting and the global best practices of Budget Financing.

Professor Ayo Teriba who served as the Guest Speaker spoke eloquently on the low hanging fruits of the federal government on it's quest to minimise borrowing and he also used the avenue to call on Civil Society Organisation to focus more on what Nigeria Own, than what we Owe, stressing that Nigeria is richer and bigger than what it Owe.

Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, Chairman Senate Committee on Finance, on his part stressed the need for a comprehensive data base of Nigeria's National assets and also used the opportunity to remind heads of agencies that Finance Committee will not tolerate the attitude of generating and keeping government revenue without remittance.

Senator Mohammed Sani Musa Felicitate With Muslims as they Celebrate the 2023 Eid El Maulud.

Distinguished Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, CON on Wednesday called on Muslims to offer special prayers for greater peace, unity and continuous progress of Nigeria, as they join their counterparts across the world to celebrate Eid El Maulud, which is the birth of Prophet Mohammed.

The Senator, in a statement he personally signed, enjoined Muslims to follow the exemplary leadership of the Holy Prophet by promoting peaceful existence.

While imploring Nigerians to shun ethnic, political and religious differences and work towards building a safer and better Nigeria, Sen Mohammed Sani Musa said the celebration of the birth of the Prophet should renew the faith and bond of unity as one people and one nation irrespective of diversity.

“On the occasion of the commemoration of the birth of the holy Prophet, it is imperative to reflect on his teachings and uphold his legacies of unity, integrity, peaceful coexistence and love for one’s neighbour, which are indispensable in our quest for meaningful development and the profitable management of our diversity,” he said.

The Senator urged Muslims to internalise the virtues of honesty, selflessness, charity, tolerance, good neighbourliness, justice, equity and fairness which Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) preached, saying such will go a long way to engender national development.

Eid-el-Kabir: Senator Mohammed Sani Musa felicitates with Muslims

I seize this opportunity to rejoice with you all on the occasion of the celebration of this year’s Eid Kabir the feast of sacrifice. I pray almighty Allah will accept our sacrifices.

“I admonish you to as you celebrate remember those who are less privileged by supporting them to celebrate and have a spirit of belonging.

“I am aware that the last few weeks have been periods of uncertainty, fears and a series of attacks by bandits and gunmen which have made life very unbearable for a lot of our people, resulting also in their inability to perform their fundamental rights to freedom as enshrined in our constitution and apart from losing their loved ones some were maimed.

“However I assure you that the government is on top of the situation as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has shown the capacity to tackle the mirage of problems facing many parts of the country.

“The appointment of new service chiefs and the Inspector General of Police I am sure will soon add impetus to the fight against insecurity in parts of our state and the country in general.

“While the Service Chiefs settle down to their assignments I implore you to be more security conscious this period and after.

“As we celebrate this Eid Kabir I charge you to continue to have faith in the governments at state and federal levels and pray for continued peace and progress of our leaders, state and country.

These Social Media pages have been created to bring Senator Mohammed Sani Musa closer to his people and to be able to update and keep his constituents abreast with his legislative activities as well as interact with them to get feedbacks and find solutions to the teeming problems bedeviling his Constituency and society together.

We believe for the purpose of his mandate and his resolve to ensure his people are in the know of his activities

First and foremost, we hope to update you on Senator Sani Musa’s journey so far since joining the Nigerian Senate. As you all know, the journey wasn’t easy, from the party primaries to the general elections, and throughout his legal tussle from the tribunal to the Supreme Court. He doesn’t want to take the continuous support of the people for him as their Senator through thick and thin because of their belief in his capabilities to represent them at the upper chambers of National Assembly for granted. It is therefore one of the reasons why He believes He owe it to the people to give them an excellent representation in his legislative duties.

After his Supreme Court victory, Senator Sani Musa kickstarted his Mandate with the unveiling of his “Strategic Senatorial Action Plan, for Niger East Senatorial District”, Arguably the first of its kind, on Sunday, 21st July, 2019 to intimate the people his Zone and by extension, Nigerians, of his plan for them.

The event had the Distinguished Senator Ahmad Lawan, The President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as it’s Special Guest of Honour. Other distinguish Senators present during the unveiling were the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo Agege, Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, as well as some of his colleagues in the senate. The Executive Governor of Niger State, His Excellency, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello served as the Chief Host of the event.

THESE ARE SENATOR SANI MUSA’S PLANS FOR HIS PEOPLE

* Work for accountable and responsive government

A respected American politician once said that all politics is local. I believe that all government is local. This is because government must not be some faceless, nameless bureaucracy alien from its constituents. It must be a living, breathing presence in the lives of people. It must be responsive to the people’s needs and sensitive to their plight. Thus, government must be as near to the people as possible. This, I believe is the essence of good governance. My experience as a businessman and politician, and once upon a time a Special Adviser to Niger State Government has convinced me that this is the best way government can make a positive impact on the lives of ordinary citizens. For this reason, I shall commit myself to strengthening government interventions and bringing development closer to the people, especially at the wards level.

My believe for the emancipation of the downtrodden cannot be quantified, hence I will give my all to support giving my constituents qualitative education - as fixing our schools is as good to say is fixing our troubles. An educated society provides a pool of productivity.; good health services, and make agriculture a blaze so that standard of living will improve and be affordable.

* Strengthen the family values. Empower the youth.

We Nigerias are family oriented, and with good reason. For it is through our families that we first taught good values that we carry through life. It is in our homes that we receive guidance, support, love and protection. I should know. I grew up in a large and close knit family that thrived on love and caring. It was in our home that my ideals of service were nurtured.

Now that I have a family of my own, I would like my child to be brought up in the same way that I was reared. This is also my dream for all Nigeria children and their families. Therefore, I am committed to strengthen the family as the basic unit in our society and to work so that it can retain its role as the place where our children are molded and trained in to the values we Nigerians cherish.

In line with this thrust, I intend to introduce legislation that shall support and enhance family welfare. Closely connected with this, I shall introduce measures on a variety of important issues that have significant impact on the family, such as employment generation, job security, overseas Nigeria workers, responsible parenthood and family planning.

The great Nigeria patriot Nnamdi Azikiwe pointed to the youth as the hope of the fatherland. Ours is a nation of young people who form the overwhelming majority of the population. As a student leader, I have worked for affordable, quality and relevant education. I have pushed for student’s rights and welfare. I intend to pursue these goals as a Senator.
