The first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, who stepped down from the position last year after nearly three decades in power, has tested positive for the coronavirus.

A statement on his official website made the announcement today.

"Currently, the First President of Kazakhstan is in self-isolation. Unfortunately, the last test… for the coronavirus infection showed a positive result. There is no cause for concern," the statement said.

The statement said that Nazarbayev is "continuing to work remotely."

Nazarbayev, who turns 80 next month, served as Kazakhstan’s president for close to three decades before handing the reins over to hand-picked successor Kassym-Jomart Tokayev last year.

He retains a number of powerful positions in the authoritarian Central Asian country including the chairmanships of the national security council and the ruling party.

He is also constitutionally honoured as the "Leader of the Nation" — a designation that provides him with unique policymaking privileges.

Coronavirus worst challenge after World War 2 -UN

The current coronavirus outbreak is the biggest challenge for the world since World War Two, UN Secretary-General António Guterres has warned.

He said it could bring a recession “that probably has no parallel in the recent past”.

His warning comes amid dire predictions about the possible economic impact of measures imposed to fight the virus.

The number of confirmed cases around the world is now nearing 860,000, with more than 42,000 deaths.

The death toll in the US is now more than 4,000 – higher than the declared number of fatalities in China, where the outbreak began late last year.

Johns Hopkins University said 865 people had died in the past 24 hours in the US and in all more than 189,000 people in the country had been infected.

Meanwhile, Spain, second only to Italy in the number of recorded fatalities, has seen 849 deaths in the last 24 hours – the highest number it has had in a single day.

In the UK, a total of 1,789 people have died – a rise of 381, officials say. Among the victims was a 13-year-old boy, King’s College Hospital Trust in London.

Reps take delivery of exotic cars and begin distribution amid coronavirus outbreak

The House of Representatives has started taking delivery of the Toyota Camry 2020 model cars acquired for members as official cars.

According to Punch, some of the cars were sighted by their correspondent at different parking lots within the National Assembly Complex, on Thursday, March 26, 2020.

On February 5, 2020, the legislators had at a closed-door where they resolved to purchase 400 units of the exotic car. The House has, however, kept sealed lips on the cost of each unit.

Punch correspondent observed that the House procured the V6 Limited Edition variant of the car.

Chairman of the Committee on House Services, Mr. Wale Raji, who confirmed delivery of the cars declined to respond to further enquiries.

The cars, which belong to the National Assembly, are usually auctioned to the lawmakers after four years.

A check on the website of Toyota revealed that each of the vehicles – depending on the variant, has a price tag of between US$25,000 to US $35,000, excluding the cost of shipping and custom duties, which is about 100 per cent of the actual cost of each unit.

About 14 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado sports utility vehicles have already been handed out to presiding as well as other principal officers and chairmen of select House committees, the publication reports, adding that some lawmakers who were contacted on Thursday said they had yet to receive vehicles delivered in "the first batch."

Giving a breakdown of how the vehicles are shared, a member of the House, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said, the 400 saloon cars would be allocated to each of the 360 members and some top management staff, Chiefs of Staff to the (two) presiding officers as well as some of their special advisers and assistants.

The lawmaker explained that new members who did not get committee appointments would benefit from the first batch.

Up to 14 percent of the recovered coronavirus patients in China test positive again

Up to 14% of recovered coronavirus patients in China have reportedly tested positive again after being discharged from the hospital.

Doctors at a hospital in Wuhan, China, where the virus emerged reported that between 3 and 14% of cured patients became reinfected with the illness, though it’s unclear whether they were contagious the second time, the South China Morning Post reported.

The news comes as experts raised an alarm that China is facing a second outbreak due to the increasing number of imported cases as well as the 'silent carriers' who show no symptoms.

Tongji Hospital, which identified the first COVID-19 case, confirmed that five of 145 patients, a little over 3% tested positive again in nucleic acid tests, according to state broadcaster CCTV.

“So far there is no evidence to suggest that they are infectious,” said Wang Wei, the hospital’s president.

According to him, five patients who tested positive again did not have any symptoms and none of their close contacts had been infected.

He added that surveillance of similar patients showed that 80 to 90% had no trace of the virus in their system one month after being discharged from the hospital, according to the report.

But he said: 'these are just “small samples” and “not enough to assure us of the validity of our initial findings. We need a large-scale epidemiological study to guide our disease surveillance and prevention works.”

alth nheews outlet Life Times, which is affiliated with state-run newspaper People’s Daily also reported that other quarantine facilities in Wuhan have seen about 5 to 10% of their recovered patients test positive again.

Coronavirus: No military lockdown of Nigeria tomorrow

There will be no military lockdown of Nigeria tomorrow, as part of measures to contain coronavirus epidemic, the Army has said.

Colonel Sagir Musa, acting Director Army Public Relations, described the reports as false and misleading.

The reports were designed by certain mischievous elements to create chaos, panic and disaffection in the society, Musa said.

He said the document quoted was a proactive directive for the Nigerian army to prepare for possible escalation of the COVID -19 based on the happenings around the world on the pandemic.

He said the promoters of the reports had some ulterior motives.

“The misinterpretation that government is locking down the entire country and pulling out the army by Friday, March 27, is utterly false and baseless.

Italian nurse kills herself after testing positive for coronavirus and worrying she had infected others

An Italian nurse has committed su***de after testing positive for coronavirus and fearing she had infected others.

34-year-old Daniela Trezzi was working on the front line of the coronavirus crisis at the San Gerardo hospital in Lombardy, the worst-affected region of Italy.

The nurse had been suffering 'heavy stress' before she was quarantined after showing coronavirus symptoms.

After she tested positive for the disease, she reportedly took her life with her colleagues disclosing that she talked about her fears as she could have infected others with the disease.

The National Federation of Nurses of Italy confirmed her death with a statement expressing

"all the pain and concern of the nurses over the death of their young colleague who lost her life, and of all 450,000 Italian healthcare professionals who are fighting united around their families, friends, and colleagues”.

Her death comes just a week after another nurse in Venezia killed herself. "It is an analogous event with the same motivation and although we wish it the opposite, this may not be the last case," the federation report said.

Zimbabwe customs officials walk out over coronavirus fears

Customs officials at Zimbabwe’s biggest airport stopped reporting for work on Wednesday, fearing exposure to the coronavirus and a lack of measures to prevent its spread, their union said.

Zimbabwe has recorded one death from three confirmed cases of coronavirus, but the opposition and critics of President Emmerson Mnangagwa are accusing his government of under-reporting the number of cases.

The government has denied this.

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority Trade Union said its members at the main airport in the capital Harare came into contact while dealing with the man who died from coronavirus, but they were not tested or put into mandatory isolation.

“There is very high exposure of all staff at the referred airport due to lack of proper stop gap facilities to mitigate the possible spread of the deadly virus.

“The workers shall not report for duty until proper measures are taken to substantially mitigate the danger,” said Lovemore Ngwarati, the union’s secretary general.

Faith Mazani, Commissioner General of Zimbabwe Revenue Authority, did not respond to calls for comment.

US group files 20 trillion lawsuit against china.

Washington-based law firm Freedom Watch and Texas Company Bus Photos, which specialize in high school sports photography, have filed legal action against China.

The Organizations filed a Texas lawsuit seeking $ 20 trillion ($ 20 trillion) in damages from China, the source of the corona virus.

They alleged that the Chinese government has created the Coronavirus as an illegal biological weapon that has spread to the world. The virus was released by the Wuhan Institute of Viroja, a biological test.

The virus they had prepared against the enemy was being released at an unexpected time. The petitioners argue that although China was primarily targeted at the American people, the virus was not limited to it.

There was a heartless act on the part of China that was unacceptable. The people of China are good but their government is not. According to the plea, the court has sought compensation from China, which has brought the world into such a situation.

According to a petition filed by Bus Photos, the loss of $ 50,000 last week was due to the closure of educational institutions and sports events following the outbreak of the Corona virus in the United States. Buzz Fotas has been sued by activist and lawyer Larry Klayman.

Comedian Kevin Hart, wife expecting second child

American actor and comedian, Kevin Hart and his wife, Eniko Parrish, have announced that they are expecting their second child together.

The couple confirmed in Instagram posts they shared on Tuesday.

Eniko who stylishly showed off her growing baby bump in a sheer backless dress in a photo she shared, expressed excitement of having a family of 6 soon.

She wrote; “baby #2 in the midst of all of this we’re counting our blessings and couldn’t be more grateful! soon to be a family of 6! .”

Hart also posted the same picture on his page with the caption, “ ”

This is coming barely 2 years after the comedian revealed that his wife wants another baby after they welcomed their son, Kenzo in 2017.

In an interview with USA TODAY, Kevin Hart said; “We’re going to do one more and then we’re going to throw in the towel after that. One more is enough – that’s a loud house. We have a loud one already between the kids and the dogs. So I think adding one more will really complete the Hart family circle and we’ll be done there. That’s it.

“We’re probably going to start trying over the summer. Kenzo is 16 months now, so I feel that’s the perfect gap. That’s almost a two-year window in between, and he’ll be walking, talking a little bit. I’ll take some time off and be around a little more, so we’re trying to plan it out strategically.”

Kevin Hart is already a proud father of three kids: Heaven and Hendrix who he shares with ex-wife Torrei Hart; and Kenzo, his first child with wife Eniko Parrish.
