NBBF has released format, dates and venue for the league.

Savannah will be played in Nasarawa and Abuja

Atlantic in Asaba and Ibadan

Top four teams from each of the division will advance to the conference finals

Top 2 from each conference will qualify for the Final 4

It will be best of 3 games. The team that wins their first two games will be crowned champions of the 2023 league.

Conference dates Oct 21-29
Conference final Nov 4-12
Final 4 : Nov 19-26

Best of luck to all the teams but did the technical committee put the players into consideration when fixing these dates? Or we just want to rush the league that should have started and ended a long while ago? Just a week break in between the Conferences after a round Robin format of 7 games? I am still wondering anything worth doing is worth doing well

This is unusual for a team like First Bank basketball team to be beaten by teams in Nigeria.
Losing to Sunshine Angels was looked at as a mistake, but now losing to MFM.

We thought they were unbeatable but now we can clearly see that they are very much beatable.
I wonder what will happen when they meet the Savannah teams like Airwarriors and Nigerian Customs. Let’s keep watching to see what happens.

31 Teams invited for the 2023 NBBF Premiere League.
The 31 teams comprises of both Savannah and Athletic conference teams.

The first phase of the league will kick off on the 23rd - 30th of October 2023, which 8 top teams from each conference will make it to the second phase.

American base sport organization which focuses on helping student athletes to acquire education and play basketball, in collaboration with a Nigerian base basketball Academy (TNT Panthers) hosted a 3days basketball camp which is aimed at helping students athletes secure educational and sport scholarships to play and study in foreign countries.
The camp hosted about a 100 athletes from around Nigeria.

I think the Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria is the school with the best basketball fan base. No school in Nigeria has ever appreciated the game of basketball like the students in this university.
The players are like the celebrities of the school.
During the school league, seats are less than the number of fans coming for the games, people fight to get a sitting spat but is base on how early you come. Sometimes the fans sit, waiting for like 30minutes before the players even step on the court.
This school basketball fan base is something else. This is like NCAA in Zaria.

*FG CONGRATULATES D'TIGRESS FOR BEING AFRICAN CHAMPIONS FOUR CONSECUTIVE TIMES*

The Federal Government has applauded
D’Tigress for emerging as African Champions, four consecutive times, following their thrilling 84-74 win over Senegal in the final of the 2023 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket Tournament held in Kigali, Rwanda today.

The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar, in his congratulatory message to the Team, stated that Nigeria is proud of their performance at the competition.

He stated further that
Saturday’s victory by D’Tigress is historic especially as the
Team waited for 12 solid years with no title to show for their efforts.

**D’Tigress ended the drought as they were crowned champions in 2017.
The team then followed up with victories in 2019, 2021 and now 2023 in amazing fashion.
The Rena Wakama- led Team has indeed made us proud. Let me emphatically inform you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is proud of you and is congratulating you. Nigerians are proud of you. You have indeed made us proud* , he said.

The Permanent Secretary explained further that
D’Tigress has become the only second team ever, after Senegal to win four consecutive titles at the FIBA Women’s AfroBasket Competition.

While applauding the fighting spirit as well as commitment of the Team which earned them the well deserved victory, Alhaji Ismaila called on other athletes representing the country at the various global competitions to also strive for podium finishes.

He reiterated the Ministry's commitment to the full implementation of all sporting policies, initiatives, programmes and projects for the empowerment of our teeming youth in line with the policy thrust of the present Administration

While commending Officials of the Ministry and the technical crew for working assiduously towards ensuring that the country's flag is hoisted high at the Competition, Alhaji Ismaila assured that the Ministry is looking forward to ensuring a rousing welcome for the Team

The sideline story is the one you can never get bored with… The fun that is attached with the sideline fans cheering their favorite players is something of joy.
Imagine feeling special because those fans at the sideline appreciate the little you do on the court.
This is the most fun part of this game of basketball. So we seek to keep the fans at the frontline because they are the reason why we play the game everyday.

From the north of Nigeria we bring to you the school boys show From Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
They put together a personal league to engage their players and improve skills in the school in the game of basketball.
Like we know ABU Zaria is known for it name in basketball in Nigeria .
The first day and second day of the league proved to be very fun as every body around the premises knows where to be every evening. No doubt the school boys are really pulling up a show in the north.

Show some support by stretching out a helping hand to encourage good things.

Few weeks back, a born son of Enugu State in Nigeria (Obun) hosted a 3days camp for boys and girls. The camp has about 150 campers in attendance.
Giving back to the society was his aim, and encouraging the kinds to stand for everything they love doing.
The camp was fun and about 100 shoes were shared to the campers.
