*PART 1*
Marketing yourself means to show yourself to employers who really need your services.Just as being trained in the modelling field is very important and essential is the same way that marketing yourself is more essential most times the person who gets a modelling job may not be the most skilled but they got the job because they may have been good at promoting themselves.
Having the necessary skills as a model may actually be useless if you are not being noticed and called for jobs just think about it I believe that you actually know of a new product when you see it being advertised isn't it? The modelling industry is actually saturated with alot of models both professional and unprofessional permit me to say it's a survival of the fittest. Most times it's not all about who got the best skill, catwalk, body and physique. I once watched a fashion show(name withheld) and a saw this celebrity walking the runway(pls am not talking about tiwa savage that walked the runway recently)
The celebrity walked on runway alongside notable super models in Nigeria but it May shock you to know that this celebrity doesn't have a modelling stature neither could she catwalk but she got the job and walked with alot of people cheering and hailing her happily. So what am I trying to say? It's all about how you make yourself known and the impact your presence have made in the Society. As you acquire modelling skills in various modelling groups on facebook, whatsapp, Instagram, you tube, Modelling schools, agencies etc. You should also try to acquire marketing skills as a model that is for someone who really want to earn full time in the industry.
Talking about marketing yourself after you have acquired the necessary skills as a model the first question you need to have in mind is "who am I marketing myself to?" this question seems quite easy to answer but 70% of models are still confused on who they are marketing themselves to.
