The actress has donated 40 bags of rice and garri to people in Lagos, 190 hand sanitisers to lagosians. The movie star also gave out 50 cartons of noodles, 50 bags of rice and 100 sanitizers to people in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
Toyin Abraham sent money for foodstuff and hand sanitisers for people in Ibadan and also donated money to buy foodstuff and detergent for the less-privileged in
Kano state and Ilorin.

Three new cases confirmed in Ogun, FCT and bauchi.

According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC, the new cases have travel history in Germany and UK.
The new case is a 62-year old man who resides in sagamu who just returned to the Country on March 17th 2020.
She said the patient has been transferred to the Isolation Centre at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu for isolation and further observation.

This is to Inform you that JAMB would be releasing their form tomorrow 14th January, 2020. It is said some days back that there isn't need of the National Identification Number but would be implemented in the next jamb i.e 2021.

FG ABOLISHES CATCHMENT AREA IN FEDERAL VARSITY

The Federal Government has announced abolishment
of the policy of preference for catchment areas in
admitting new students in Federal Universities.
President Mohammadu Buhari announced this
yesterday at the 45th convocation ceremony of the
University of Benin in Benin City.
The President who was represented by the Deputy
Executive Secretary, National Universities
Commission (NUC), Suleiman Yusuf, therefore,
directed all federal universities to ensure that
every local government, all states, and all
geopolitical zones are represented in their
admission of the new entrance.
President Buhari warned that any institution found
to go against the directive would be sanctioned,
adding that he has directed the Joint Admission
and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the Nigeria
Universities Commission to ensure compliance
commencing from the 2020 admission season.
President Buhari said the NUC and JAMB have been
directed to thereafter carry out a comprehensive
student audits to ascertain compliance.
”If you look at the demographics of the various
Nigerian universities, it reveals a preponderance of
over localisation and over indigenization with only a
few universities including those owned by the
federal government having a semblance of national
institutions in terms of the national spread of their
staff and students population.
“Universities should be more broad-minded, less
parochial and eschew over indigenization.
“Government expects university managers to do a
lot more with less, given the economic reality
confronting us as a nation today. This calls for
innovative and transparent management practices.
“Funding is not just about the quantum of fund
disbursed to universities, it also includes the
judicious management of available funds to ensure
that we get more mileage on whatever funds are
expended”, he said.

REP MOVE MOTION TO ABOLISHING ACCEPTANCE FEES IN VARSITIES

The House of Representatives on
Wednesday called on the federal Ministry
of education to abolish the practice of
charging Acceptance Fees on admission
into Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria
This resolution followed the consideration
and adoption of a motion calling
attention to the exploitative tendencies
if the practice, as brought by Hon.
Chinedu Emeka Martins.
The resolution therefore directed the
Federal Ministry of Education and the
National Universities Commission to
immediately abolish the payment of
acceptance fees into Tertiary
Institutions.
To this end, the House Committee on
Tertiary Education and Services was
mandated to investigate the admission
policies and practices of Tertiary
Institutions in the country as they relate
to the charging of acceptance fees in
order to remove all obstacles to accessing
tertiary education in the country.
In his lead debate, Hon. Martins noted
that education is a necessary tool for
unlocking human potentials and driving
national development and the
advancement or otherwise of any nation
is directly dependent on the number of
its citizens who have access to education,
especially up to the tertiary education
level.
