Pastor Adeboye And The Winter Tale When I was growing up, the famous saying “touch not my anointed” was a must obeyed command. It was virtually injected into us by our parents at home, and also at schools where teachers drummed it into us like a song in a folktale. Society as well in a way contributed, in preaching this order to us to bar us in those formative years from talking negatively about anyone working in the vineyard of God. It was so potent that religious heads especially in the Christian community could get away with any wrongdoing and no one will raise a dissenting voice. That was the picture of the era of my developmental years where respect was sacrosanct in everything we did. Today, the story seems to have changed completely from what it used to be. The youngsters of nowadays are not only ready to 'touch' the anointed, they are always waiting, albeit, impatiently for any 'anointed' to falter, so they can pounce on such individual, no matter how highly placed the person is in the society. This new set of young ones that are known as generation z are totally different that no one is big or important enough, not to get a dose of their highly acidic tongue. They don't have regard or respect for anyone that they could turn night into day with their words and not see anything wrong in it so far they are enjoying the freedom of speech given to them by the Constitution of Nigeria. What they only care about is the unlimited freedom they have on social media which they can use to take anyone they've judged in their court, to gutters without giving a hoot. I still find it hard to take it off my head how these whippersnapper born between 1997 and 2012 recently attacked Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) General Overseer, Pastor Enouch Adejare Adeboye over the viral video of his exploit in Colorado, United States of America. They so much 'dragged' the highly respected man of God that I had to question what actually happened to us all
