SCHOOL BEGINS TODAY, says Fada Angelo, as he welcomes everyone to his online class!
Our one-year school education begins today.
This page was born of the desire to address the problems of Africa's economic poverty despite being the richest continent in terms of natural resources.
The academic year will contain three terms, each lasting for three months. The 1st term begins from February to March, the 2nd term runs from May to July, and the 3rd term runs from September to November. At the end of every term, there will be a quiz. Winners will be rewarded.
The class is open to all who have finished their primary school education. The subjects we shall treat include: 1] history; 2] general science; 3] economics; 4] agriculture; 5] political science; 6] logic; 7] philosophy; 8] religious and cultural knowledge; 9] linguistics; 10] ethics and 11] Geography
We are going to treat the subjects at a general level. It is just about the basics. No panic!
For those who joined us recently, my name is Fr. Angelo Chidi Unegbu. I am a Catholic priest from Arondizuogu in Igboland who resides and works in Germany. I am also a historian who studied at the Seat of Wisdom Seminary in Owerri, where my journey as a historian began.
Two years after my priestly ordination, I traveled to Europe to further my studies in history. I did my Masters (Church History) at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. At the same university, I did my advanced masters. I later went to the University of TΓΌbingen, Germany, where I did my doctorate.
Within the course of my research, I was very much bothered by the backwardness seen in almost everything in Africa.
Luckily, I discovered three major knots responsible for the setbacks in Africa, especially Nigeria and Igboland, namely: religious, cultural, and political disorders. For the past 7 years, I have been writing about these on social media. Initially, I avoided posting on Facebook until recently.
I also discovered that these three knots or disorders can hardly be untied or resolved without putting our stories straight. This is why I opened the Chimefula Research Center, which is dedicated to research and promotion of our cultural values. In the Chimefula Research Centre, we are a team.
We decided to open this page, Fada Angelo Chidi Unegbu, in order to give everyone who has the development of Africa at heart the opportunity to participate in the debate, dialogue, and discussions.
Our discussions on social media so far have shown that the majority of us lack the basic tools for academic discussions. That is why we decided to offer this one-year academic lecture in order to help everyone participate actively and meaningfully.
We will also teach as a team. From time to time, experts will be invited. The lecture will be here on Facebook via posts. Lectures will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
When you have any questions, use the comment section. Anyone who knows the answer to any question put up by anyone can also answer it. I will do as much as I can to address the questions. I will also be using posts to answer some questions.
Today is a day of introduction. Tell us where you are participating in the lectures from. Normal lectures will begin on Wednesday this week.
Kindly share and endeavor to participate!
