Once upon a time in Igboland, everyone was a landlord; there were no homeless people in any part of Igboland, as age grades would team up together to start building houses collectively for one another, free of charge.

In the olden days, life was so easy. Ndígbo lived a communal life. When a man reached the age of ịpụ obi, his age grade would contribute to building a house for him for free. He would also do the same for others.

No one got paid for doing so; it was free of charge. Community development was an important role and duty of pre-colonial Igbo society.

Everyone joyfully helped one another to stand as a man and have a shelter over their heads.

Kofo Abayomi: A Nigerian Who Changed His Name Just To Marry A Widow In 1930.

In Colonial Lagos, Lady Oyinkan Ajasa (Lady Oyinkan Abayomi) was born daughter of Sir Kitoye Ajasa, a Yoruba aristocrat who was the first Nigerian to be knighted by the British, and Lucretia Olayinka Moore, a princess of Egba royal family, in Lagos, was born on March 6, 1897.

She schooled at the Anglican Girls' Seminary in Lagos and graduated in 1909. From there to Young Ladies Academy at Ryford Hall, Gloucestershire. In 1917, she attended the Royal Academy of Music in London. She moved back to Lagos in 1920 and became a music teacher at the Anglican Girls' Seminary.

It was during this time when she met a lawyer named Mr Moronfolu Abayomi ( the love of her life ) whom she married in 1923.

He was aasasinated 2 months later in court, she was devastated and didn't want to marry anyone ever again .

Dr Kofo John wanted to marry her and her response was, "you have to change your name to my late husband's name - Abayomi"

Guess what happened?

He agreed, married her and changed his name to Dr Kofo Abayomi. The very famous Dr Kofo Abayomi.

In this picture, Lady Oyinkan Abayomi arrives a social function in Lagos with her husband Dr Kofo Abayomi

______"JAMB sanctions officials for asking candidate to remove hijab

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, on Sunday, announced that it had sanctioned some officials who ordered a Muslim candidate to remove her hijab.

The female candidate who sat her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination at the Bafuto Institute, Ile-Iwe Bus Stop, Ejigbo, Lagos, was said to have been asked to remove her head cover during the accreditation process before being allowed into the examination hall.

Addressing the issue in a statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs, Dr Fabian Benjamin, JAMB said it deeply regretted the incident, adding that upon investigation,

it discovered that the incident or others in the past were not linked to any of its examinations guidelines, but rather a product of the misplaced priority by some of the accredited partners.

JAMB’s guidelines on accreditation ensure that all candidates are screened and allow only female officials to screen female candidates before allowing them to gain entry into the examination hall.

“This situation was instantly addressed by a senior official of the board at the centre and the candidate in question was allowed in after the usual checks with her hijab.

“However, since ignorance of the law is not an excuse, the officials have been appropriately sanctioned to serve as a deterrent to others who might wish to toe the same line going forward.

“It’s worthy of note that the board, as a national institution, has no policy barring candidates from spotting the religious paraphernalia peculiar to their religious persuasions, as these are the facts of everyday life in Nigeria, which everyone should have been familiar with by now,” JAMB said in the statement.

It assured the general public that the issue would be properly investigated, as it had done in past incidents, to prevent a recurrence.

“The board is committed to the discharge of its statutory role of ensuring that suitably qualified candidates are selected for admission into the nation’s tertiary institutions and would not allow anything or anyone to detract it from the pursuit of this noble goal,” it said.

Meanwhile, the conduct of the 2024 UTME, which commenced on Friday, April 19, 2024, has been marred with reports of technical glitches, as over 1.2 million candidates are expected to have successfully taken the examination by Monday, April 22, 2024.

Ahebi Ugbabe was a pr******te and businesswoman from Enugu-Ezike who later became the only female king in British-Nigeria.

Ugbabe, who was the first and last king of Enugu-Ezike, ruled her people for 30 years until her death in 1948. She was 68.

King Ahebi Ugbabe could speak Igbo, Igala, Nupe, and Pidgin English. Thus, she held court cases in her palace while making money from the services. Women who had also been abused by their husbands escaped to Ugbabe’s palace, who then became their female husband.

Ahebi Ugbabe married wives for herself...by paying their bride price. She then looked for men who had in*******se with these wives and claimed the paternity of the children they bore. She assumed the role of a man and named the children after herself.

With the fear that her people might not accord her a rightful burial, Ahebi Ugbabe performed her own funeral rites in 1946, two years before her death.

I nearly 'scammed' a parent of N200,000 but my sister called my spirit back to truth.

The coming generations of parents will create beasts!

Let me start it this way: this page gives me private lessons sometimes. Some persons contact me for ghostwriting, article writing, assistance in writing assignments, writing of projects, etc. These things bring me 'small small' money--all these urgent 2k additions.

Most of the times, these alerts come in when I am in a class teaching. And I am one person who reacts spontaneously to alerts🤣 You'd see me punch the air in celebration, like Klopp of Liverpool does when his team scores a goal. For this, once my phone beeps and the lights come on, then I look into the screen and punch the air, my boys know money has entered. But what they don't know is that I could do the same celebration for amounts as small as 3k or 5k.

A number of times, different students have come to me to beg me to 'show them the way'. They think I'm into Internet fraud--because where does all the money he celebrates come from? I would always tell them that my online activeness and teachings pay off. But they hardly believe it.

On the 24th of March, just weeks ago, it was a Sunday, a parent called my number and requested to see me at one pub in the same area as my school. She said it was something serious she wanted us to talk about and wouldn't want to be seen within the school with me 'to avoid suspicion'. The 'to avoid suspicion' part got me a little apprehensive. I went anyway.

She was a fine, beautifully built, fair, soft-spoken woman. She should not be above the range of 39-42. The woman fine!

The summary of my discussion with her was that she heard from her son that I am 'into deals'. She said she decided to come to me because I 'would not take her son seriously'. She asked me how much I would collect to teach her son 'the way' so that he begins to make 'young money'.

I felt an aggressive mixture of disappointment, anger, disgust and hate. I was fuming within me and calculating my next move as she still used many words to arrive at what she really wanted.

Just the night before that morning, I was on a call with a chief from my kindred begging him to assist me with a 150k loan to attend to something that is really threatening my future. Then this?

"What if this is God wanting to provide for you at this daring time?"

"It wouldn't be a wrong on your side if you scammed an intending scammer."

"There is nothing legal in illegality"

All these thoughts were racing in my mind.

After many words that I used to tell her that I am very selective of the people admit into my 'tutorship', I finally asked her to bring a bottle of red wine, 5 pieces of kolanut and two hundred thousand naira. I only added the red wine and kolanut to make it look real. Then I asked her to save up to buy her son a laptop 💻 I told her that there would be other fees to come but that it would be towards his 'graduation' from my class. I told her that the money must come in cash.

You know what happened?

She asked me to wait there. She ordered more drinks and meat for me. She then left, and returned after about 20mins with N200,000 cash😲and the other items. I told her that her son should come to my side once the holidays started. I told her that it would take this holidays, the long vacation and the Christmas holidays for the young boy to perfect in the computer 'craft'.

When I left there, the only person I told about this was my little sister. She just laughed and said "serves her right". But my whole being went into conflict. I was battling to convince myself that it wouldn't be wrong to 'die' the money and block her. I have a pressing need after all.

Since Easter Monday, my phone has not rested from calls from the woman and her son. I blocked her on WhatsApp because her chats were coming in too. If my phone had the capacity to block a number from normal calls, I'd have done that too. She later started to send me curses through text messages.

Two days ago(last Sunday), my sister called me to tell me how she had been troubled. "What is bad is bad no matter what you want to use it to teach the person" was a line she mouthed more than seven times. This increased the guilt in me--all the while, I had been trying decide my next action through weighing reasons to return the money and reasons not to.

After that call with my sister, I picked the woman's call and told her to send her son to my place today. Though I didn't tell her that he'll be returning to her today, contrary to the plan.

I plan to have a long talk with the boy and tell him how bad and dangerous the path his mother is encouraging him into could be. Imagine the pain his mother felt when thinking I had scammed her of 200k. Then, think of people who he intends to start scamming: some would send their life savings, house rents, etc. Some may not survive their loss. A scammer may be a murderer without knowing that he is.

Now, I sit here waiting for him and staring at the money (which I kept intact since then) trying to convince myself that I am not making a mistake I'll regret.

She'll get the money EXACTLY THE WAY SHE GAVE IT TO ME--SAME NOTES, SAME ARRANGEMENTS. I go drink the wine sha. I cannot lose all.

Dear new generation parents, I really don't know what to tell you. 😢

Please, share this out and let it be a message/warning/preaching to the new-generation parents. What is evil is evil!

My dear brothers and friends, I need your help.

My name is Emeka Isuochi, I hail from Abia State but do my business in Lagos State.

In April 2023, I supplied 210 pieces of Fruit press machines worth ₦819,000 to Mr Ubaka Oloh whose pictures appear below. He hails from Anambra State but does his business in Ibadan, Oyo State according to him.

I supplied these goods out of trust because I did business with him earlier and he paid completely. But this time he only paid part of the money and absconded with the rest.

He no longer picks my calls or respond to my text messages. He is into vehicle spare parts business but does my type of business because it brings quick cash according to him.

His phone numbers are 09014261088 and 08038949908.

Please, help me beg him to send my remaining ₦271,000. Those goods weren't mine but my neighbour's. He is also into online business.

Sincerely,

Emeka Isuochi.

Rogue Officers from the Rapid Response Squad of the Nigerian Police Force has shot and killed an Abariba Born Bussiness man Mr. Emmanuel Michael Okocha along MCC Abayi - Aba for refusing to give them bribe despite the fact that his vehicle license were complete.

An eye witness account by the deceased victim late father's apprentice who was sitting next to him in the car had it that they drove all the way from Abiriba on Wednesday, 17th day of April 2024 and entered Aba through Osisioma flyover.

On approaching opposite Abayi Girl's Secondary School, a team of Police Officers stopped them and demanded for the car documents and driver's licence of Mr. Emmanuel Michael Okocha which he quickly availed them.

After the check and control of the papers, the Police Officer returned the documents to him and started demanding for a tip (roja).

The late Emmanuel replied the Officer that he hadn't nothing to give him after wasting his time and started moving his car to leave the check point only for another Officer standing in front to turn his riffle and shoot at him without provocation.

Mr. Emmanuel Michael Okocha was hit by the bullet and he was shouting that he has been shot and the Police Team ran into their car and drove off. The eye witness drove the victim to the nearby Living World Hospital before calling his Attorney who joined him to MCC Police Station where the Police Team and the trigger happy shooter was identified by the eye witness. The young Mr. Emmanuel Michael Okocha who was struggling with his life after a surgery by Doctors to save his life on thursday died of the gun shot injuries yesterday (Friday) evening.

The Abiriba Community is calling on Abia State Government under their adopted son, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti to intervene to ensure that rogue officers in Nigeria Police Force and other Security Agencies get the message that the lives of innocent Abia State citizens must be protected without compromise.

“The Abiriba Community has been wounded and are saddened by the unprovoked, reckless and brutal murder of their promising young son.

The philanthropic and kind hearted father of the victim, Late Chief Michael N. Okocha whose time and wealth touched numerous lives and commitment/drive to Community Development is still visible in Abiriba after two decades of his demise must be watching from the spirit world to see how his beloved Abiriba will rally to ensure that those who brutally cut-short the life of his beloved son are served the justice they deserved”

“This ugly incident is a constant reminder that the Government needs to do more to checkmate the excesses of men and women of her Security Agencies.

They should be made to understand that their job is to protect lives not to take it and fi****ms are only meant to be used in extreme danger to defend themselves against deadly attack”

“Late Mr. Emmanuel Michael Okocha should not only Rest in Peace, he must Rest in Justice.

“In 2020, I Began Trading Cryptocurrency With ₦340K Federal Govt COVID-19 Loan; Today, That Risk Has Transformed My Life” — Influential Crypto Trader, Julius Elum Shares His Life Story

On November 8, 2020, Julius Elum got a ₦340,000 from the Federal Government COVID-19 loan but ventured into the world of cryptocurrency. Little did he know that he was sowing the seeds for his future fortune.

In a year when cryptocurrency was still finding its footing in Nigeria, Julius took a bold step that would alter the course of his life.

Using the ₦340,000 loan, Julius made his initial investments in Cardano (Ada) and Ethereum.

Today, this seemingly unconventional investment has transformed Julius into a multi-millionaire.

Julius, now the proud owner of a Lexus SUV RX 350 2022, shared his happiness on his Facebook wall, expressing gratitude for his success and attributing it to the rewarding nature of cryptocurrency.

He wrote, “Congratulations to me💥🎉

A new car just arrived🔥🔥🔥
5 days ago, I got a Lexus SUV RX 350 2022 model as a gift to myself for all the hard work in preparation for the crypto bull market.

When I was paying for this car a few days ago, I was highly emotional. I looked back, and I knew it could only be God. I never imagined 7 years ago that I could pay ₦60, 000,000 million naira in cash for a luxury car😭😭

And this is just one car out of three I bought in two weeks.

Join me and thank God.

This is evidence that crypto pays, and it pays hugely!!!”

Julius's success isn't just personal.

With a passion for empowering others, Julius founded CryptoHood, a crypto community with over 40,000 members across Africa and the globe, in January 2021. Under his guidance, over 700 people have reached millionaire status, including one millionaire in dollars, and thousands of others who are richer in hundreds of thousands than they were before joining the CryptoHood community.

Julius Elum is a shining example of the life-changing opportunities crypto offers.

Stay tuned to see what the future holds for Julius (as we're in a bull market) and the CryptoHood community, one of the fastest-growing crypto communities in the cryptocurrency industry.

ОКРОНО

The Okpoho is an ancient money invented by the Efik and used extensively in the 16th century AD across West Africa as a medium of monetary exchange in trade between the Europeans and indigenous west Africans.

Made of bronze or copper, the Okpoho was

usually formed into a ring-shaped object that

looked like a bracelet with each end of the ring

flattened out. Because it looked like a bracelet

(and in fact, was sometimes worn around the

wrists, neck or ankles as bracelets by women of

wealthy husbands), the Spanish called it

'manilla', meaning bracelets.

The Okpoho originated in ancient Calabar City, Efik country, and its use was documented in the 16th AD as a medium of monetary exchange where one Okpoho bought one elephant tooth, and one slave could be bought for 8 to 10 Okpohos during the slave trade era. The Okpoho is also featured at the back of the Nigerian N100 currency note, and also in the Akwa Ibom State seal, and in many other places.

18/04/2024

Derico Nwamama remains one of the most dreaded humans that has ever walked on the Igbo soil.

Derico started up his career as a minor pick pocket, and soon graduated to an arm.ed robber.

His base was Abuja, but he frequently visited Anambra, his state to carry out his criminal activities and disappear back to his safe. have in Abuja with his loots in grand style.

During that time, Derico was close friend to a more notorious criminal, Chiejina.

Chiejina was more like the Lord of the gangs of crim.inals.

History has it that Chiejina was very ruthless.

The story of how he flung a 3 or 4 months old baby from a three storey building because it's parents did not have any money to give to him is one that still stings the heart of many.

He still went ahead to s.hoot the baby's father in the head.

Chiejina made family members commit in**st while he watch in amusement.

He made father's sleep with their daughters, mothers sleep with their sons and brothers sleep with their sisters.

Refusal to do his bidding meant death.

Chiejina, whose name translates to 'May night not come'

Had his night come when he and Derico, his close friend started up a war.

Chiejina, after learning that Derico had a hand in attacking his gang men, angrily rode in a bike with Amobi his bike man to Derico's father's house, where he decorated the man with tens of bul.lets causing his dea.th

Derico learnt of this and went in search of Chiejina.

Derico succeeded in ki.lling the dreaded Chiejina.

He took what remained of Chiejina to the police, who celebrated him as the 'hero'

The people of Anambra celebrated the new born hero.

But unknown to them, something that was more dange.rous than Chiejina was being born.

That day, they crowned the Derico Nwamama that I am about to tell you about.

After Derico kil.led Chiejina, his ego grew.

Chiejina was a big Iroko which seemed to be indestructible.

Derico whose song was sang by the Anambra people for bringing the end of their greatest fear,

Soon became the reason everyone slept with one eyes opened.

Derico did not only rob, he went ahead to ki.ll his victims for no reason.

Derico's family members committed cri.mes too and went away with it because they are related to Deri.

They took people's land, wives and properties.

One of the mass mass.acre carried out by Derico was his attack on a luxurious bus carrying 59 passengers,

The bus was about to leave Upper Iweka, when Derico and his gangs attacked.

They collected every valuables from the passengers,

And as though that was not enough,

Derico ordered his boys to p.ump bul.lets into the victims.

Only 3 passengers lived to tell their story.

He kill.ed Children, women and men.

Just like Anini, Derico was perceived to be invisible.

He spent a fortune in the hands of wit.ch doctors who cooked him in various ite ogwu ( jazz pots).

Derico kil.led about 25 Nigerian police men and over 200 civilians.

He was a threat to everyone.

Chinwoke, the then-governor of Anambra state decided to contract a group of sorcerers vigilante groups known as Bakasi boys ( Isakaba).

The Bakasi boys were renowned for their ability to use African magic to capture evi.ldoers.

On the 3rd of July, 2001,

The Bakasi boys got intel that Derico would be travelling from Agbor to Onitsha,

They laid an ambush at the head bridge.

They stopped the bus which Derico was in,

He must have sensed the danger and jumped out through the window to escape.

But he ran out of luck, he was apprehended by the boys.

One of his ears was cho.pped for a start.

He was taken to the Boromeo hospital to ease the profuse bleeding.

The police demanded that the Bakassi boys hand Derico over to them for further investigations.

But the Bakassi boys would not trust the police.

On the 9th of July, 2001, The Bakassi boys paraded Derico round Onitsha and finally halted in Ochanja.

This brought a large crowd to Ochanja.

The people were happy that their ter.ror was coming to an end.

Many people saw Derico for the first time.

He looked different from what they had expected.

He was just 22 years and a sm.all human being.

When he was given a megaphone to address the crowd,

He cried for help and begged that the residents of Anambra should pardon him for he isn't as ba.d as they think.

"My name is Oddy, alias Derico, alias Nwa Mama. I appeal to you the people of Anambra State, please don’t kil.l me, I don’t like ev.il. It was when I ki.lled Chiejina that people thought I am a strong guy, you know.
I trust Bakassi Boys. They are strong. Please, mercy for me. Nobody can identify me as having rob/bed him. People just believe that I am a strong guy.”

These were the exact words of the injured and trembling Derico before his head left his body.

Just like the lightening Of Kamalu the god of Thunder, One of the Bakassi boys hacked the tiny neck of Derico that it rolled off his shoulder and his convulsing body oozed blo.od.

In turn, his remains were chopped and set abl.aze.

The crowd rejoiced and patted one another back.

Many young boys who wanted to take Derico's lead, learnt a lesson.

Lawyer: any proof as to that effect?

Me: No.

Lawyer: write to him to pay you your 170k.

Me: sir, but what he is owing me is 150k.

Lawyer: don't worry, just do as I have told you.

Me: Okay sir.

I then wrote to the person owing me to pay me my 170k.

And his reply was "what I am owing you is 150k and not 170k"

I then showed barrister the reply I got from him.
And he was like "that is an evidence we will use against him".

Have you been throwing away yam peels? Don't anymore.

1. Soak them in cold water overnight and thereafter.
2. ADD onion, 2 teaspoons of salt, a pinch of sugar, 1 liter of kerosene (depending on the quantity of yam peels you have), and lemon juice.
3. Then leave the mixture under the hot sun for 6 hours for the water to evaporate. Make sure it dries well to the point where you can grind it without much stress.

The boy pictured below was called Kalulu, a 12 year old enslaved African boy who drowned in Livingstone Falls in the Congo while working as a porter for British explorer, Sir Henry Morton Stanley, who also appears in one of the photos.

He was sold to Stanley by an Arab merchant in Zanzibar. His real name was Ndugu Mhali, but because Stanley didn't like the name he christened him Kalulu.

Between 1872 to 1873, Kalulu accompanied Stanley around Europe and America, and during that time posed for a wax model which was later installed at Madame Tussaud’s museum in London .

Stanley briefly enrolled him at a school in Wandsworth, South West London, where the headmaster later noted that he was " clever and progressing in English."

After the death of Dr David Livingstone in Zambia in 1874 , Stanley who was keen to carry on with Livingstone's exploration work, withdrew Kalulu from school and the two returned to Africa.
