GRID SHUT DOWN: UNION DELIBERATELY SHUT DOWN THE NATIONAL GRID

The Transmission Company of Nigeria hereby informs the general public that the Labour Union has shut down the national grid, resulting in black out nationwide. The national grid shut down occured at about 2.19am this morning, 3rd June 2024.

At about 1:15am this morning, the Benin Transmission Operator under the Independent System Operations unit of TCN reported that all operators were driven away from the control room and that staff that resisted were beaten while some were wounded in the course of forcing them out of the control room and without any form of control or supervision, the Benin Area Control Center was brought to zero.

Other transmission substations that were shut down, by the Labour Union include the Ganmo, Benin, Ayede, Olorunsogo, Akangba and Osogbo Transmission Substations. Some transmission lines were equally opened due to the ongoing activities of the labour union.

On the power generating side, power generating units from different generating stations were forced to shut down some units of their generating plants, the Jebba Generating Station was forced to shut down one of its generating units while three others in the same substation subsequently shut down on very high frequency. The sudden forced load cuts led to high frequency and system instability, which eventually shut down the national grid at 2:19am.

At about 3.23am, however, TCN commenced grid recovery, using the Shiroro Substation to attempt to feed the transmission lines supplying bulk electricity to the Katampe Transmission Substation. The situation is such that the Labour Union is still obstructing grid recovery nationwide.

We will continue to make effort to recover and stabilize the grid to enable the restoration of normal bulk transmission of electricity to distribution load centres nationwide.

Iranian President Raisi who oversaw the ex~cutions of thousands of Iranian civilians including teenagers, may be
DĘÆD after helicopter crash. An Iranian official said his life is at risk with another describing information coming from the crash site as 'very concerning.'

The helicopter crashed as it was crossing mountain terrain in heavy fog on the way back from a visit to the border with Azerbaijan, earlier today, Sunday, May 19, 2024, an Iranian official said. The official said the lives of Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian were 'at risk following the helicopter crash'. We are still hopeful but information coming from the crash site is very concerning."

The Iranian State TV expressed extreme concern for his condition, asking Iranians to 'pray for the president.’

In 1988 Ebrahim Raisi as a member of the judiciary Dēåth Committee for Iran, he sentenced thousands of political prisoners to death. Between 4,000-5,000 civilians were executed under his command.

Recall that in 2019, the U.S. Treasury sanctioned the Iranian leader for his administrative oversight over the executions of individuals who were juveniles at the time of their crime and the torture and other cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment of prisoners in Iran, including amputations."

The crash, reported by IRNA on Sunday, has hindered rescue operations due to foggy conditions, preventing emergency crews from reaching the crash site. The Iranian armed forces have been active in the crash area since early Sunday, with Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri noting that “twenty rescue teams and drones have been deployed to assist in the recovery efforts.”

Rescuers have not reached the crash site of a helicopter carrying Iran's president and foreign minister, according to an Iranian government spokesperson.

In a post on X, Ali Bahadori Jahromi said there was still no update on Ebrahim Raisi and Hossein Amirabdollahian condition. He said rescue teams were "experiencing difficult and complicated conditions". "It is the right of the people and the media to be aware of the latest news about the president's helicopter accident, but according to the coordinates of the accident site and the weather conditions, there is "no" new news until now.”

Another report has it that “the President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi as well as Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian were involved in a “Significant Helicopter Crash” earlier today while traveling back from a Diplomatic Meeting in Azerbaijan. The crash is believed to have occurred in a heavily forests area near the City of Jolfa on the border between Iran and Azerbaijan, with a very severe weather conditions including fog which likely led to the Crash and also making Rescue Operations nearly impossible.

7.5 magnitude earthquake strikes Taiwan, rocking the whole island and even causing several buildings to collapse.

The earthquake triggered a tsunami warning of up to 10 feet from Japan.

"Tsunami is coming. Please evacuate immediately. Do not stop. Do not go back," said an NHK anchor.

The city of Hualien on the east coast of Taiwan appeared to sustain significant damage. The city was near the epicenter of the earthquake.

HUNGRY, ANGRY & FRUSTRATED NIGERIANS BREAK INTO NEMA WAREHOUSE IN ABUJA, STEAL FOOD ITEMS

Nigerians suspected to be victims of politically induced massive hunger in the land broke into a government storage facility in Gwagwa area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja in the early hours of today, Sunday, March 3, 2024 and carted away stored food items.

The warehouse located in Tasha community of Gwagwa of the Abuja Municipal Area Council was invaded by hungry, angry and frustrated residents around 7am, looting bags of corn, rice, beans and other grains.

The saddest aspect of the whole thing is that all these government agencies, military formations and parastatals are never disconnected from the public power supply, despite the huge amounts they owe to power distribution companies across the nation. What a nation!

Today, Saturday, February 17, 2024, Trucks carrying foodstuff from Niger State, Northwest Nigeria the Southern part of the country were allegedly stopped and asked to reverse to their destination or offload their goods there by irate mob. They insist that foodstuffs would no longer be allowed henceforth to be transported from Northern Nigeria to Southern Nigeria. This happened in a border town between Niger and Kwara States of Nigeria.

Are we to anticipate the blowup of crude oil pipelines in the creeks of the Niger Delta or the stoppage of movement of Petrol tankers from going to the North from Southern Nigeria in the coming days? Your guess is as good as mine!

ON THE CONTINUED INCARCERATION OF CHIKA NWOBA

I wonder why some people delight in taking undue advantage of privileged position. That you’re a public servant or “officer” is a privilege, not a right! To use the said public service as means to bully innocent citizens or to silence dissent voices is a crime against nature and humanity…

Be that as it may, one thing is sacrosanct in human history; all bullies have a date with infamy, unless they retract their steps early enough and seek restitution, when justice is served, they’re always found on the negative side of history. Time heals every wound. Time will tell!

Nwoba Chika Nwoba hasn’t committed any crime known to law that would warrant his detention beyond 24 Hours before arraignment in a court of competent jurisdiction and bail is granted to him on self recognition as the Publicity Secretary of the Official Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Nigeria in Ebonyi State.

Whatever grouse that Oguzorkanu Offia-Nwali has against Chika that led the men of the Ebonyi State Command of the Nigeria Police Force to travel to Awka, in Anambra State to “kidnap” Chika in the name of arrest without recourse to the due process of the law on Sunday, February 11, 2024, is not only unconstitutional, it’s illegal, unwarranted and an assault on our collective dignity and press freedom.

I’ve advised Oguzor to tread with caution in the discharge of his public duties and response to public inquiry into his official functions, but it seems he chose to place personal feelings ahead of logic and practical reasonableness. I wish he’ll see more reasons for introspection…

Remember, injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere!
