Pointers to destiny fulfilment. Part1.( Genesis 37:13-14)

We all know the story of Joseph from his father's house to Potiphar's house, then to the prison and then finally to the palace.

I have been reading this part of the Scriptures but I noticed four people played a major part in Joseph's journey to his destiny fulfilment.

Jacob.

Jacob, the father of Joseph was the one who sent Joseph to check his brothers in Shechem( vs14).

I know how Joseph will feel anytime he remembered it was his father that sent him on a journey of ‘no return’.

Why was I not sick? Why did I even agreed to check on them? Why did I not return half way and said to my father that my brothers are fine? Why was I even born? These and many ‘WHYS’ will be running through his mind when he was put in the pit awaiting his lot( vs24)

A lot of us also have been in Joseph's shoes at one point or the other in our lives when we have questioned God because we met ourselves in an unpalatable situation. Some of us now look back to those situations and smile just like Joseph did also when he eventually became the prime minister.

Romans 8:28,

[28]We are assured and know that all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.

I WAITED FOR A CAR.
I remembered vividly during harmattan season that just passed, I was at a particular junction in my area, waiting to be convey to my destination.
I have made up my mind that I won't ride a motorcycle because it is as early as 6am and the cold is second to none. I don't really want to freeze on the bike before I reach my destination.

Secondly, the road is not that good. So I opted for a Car as my means of transportation this particular day.

I waited for so long expecting a car but it seems as if all the car riders have had a meeting a day before not to come out in time.
Time is running and the only option I had was motorcycle.

One of the funniest thing was a thought that whispered to my ear as thus ' what if a car never comes and you are running late, can't you just rake a bike? '.

I re-affirmed me that I will wait for a car.
Just as if the car rider was waiting for me to either yield to the temptation or not, I saw a car approaching, still empty.

I laughed.

As I was meditating on the whole scenerio, all that I could deduce from it is the instruments needed while waiting:

Waiting is sweet when you know why you are waiting.

It is easier for a man to say NO to prevailing options that really looks like a YES but aren't.

I knew I want to ride a car because of reasons best known to me so when bikes keep coming in their numbers, I could boldly say NO because I was not waiting for them and I won't settle for them.

Come and see the joy in my eyes and heart all through my ride that day.

It is my prayer that as we wait and trust God this season, we are greatly helped of God, to wait!

Have you really ask yourself why Jacob will go as far as demanding for his brother's birthright in exchange for a plate of food?
Is that not height of wickedness?

Nobody is talking about Jacob. 🤷🤷🤷.
Genesis 25:29-31:
Genesis 25:29-31
[29]Jacob was boiling pottage (lentil stew) one day, when Esau came from the field and was faint [with hunger].
[30]And Esau said to Jacob, I beg of you, let me have some of that red lentil stew to eat, for I am faint and famished! That is why his name was called Edom [red].
[31]Jacob answered, Then sell me today your birthright (the rights of a firstborn).

I will never justify Esau's act of impatient for anything but why will Esau demand for his birthright in exchange for a plate of pottage?

Can't he show love and compassion for his own brother without making demands, if his birthright of all things?

This story depicts how some of us can not wait for the downfall of our brethren to occupy their space. We just want to hold on to their window period of weakness and foolishness for us to launch into greatness.

Hope we know that we don't literally need to pray for the downfall of our brothers to make it in Life. If they want to go against God and His will, let them use their hands to do themselves not you instigating it.

I will give you the job but sleep with me🥺.
I will help you pass your exams but do this in exchange.
Must you?

Don't let us be like Jacob who will not show love to his own brother in his period of hunger, nakedness, weakness, distress without asking for an exchange in return.

You have heard that punctuality is the soul of business. Very correct. But to avoid mere waking up early and sleeping late, basic requirements need to be met: good customer service and relation, communication skills, research, creativity, branding and packaging and lots more.
Have a blessed, fruitful and productive week ahead.
