Dear BA family
On behalf of the BASC Board I wish to make the following comments:
1. This great Club was relegated from the NPFL after the club was highjacked in Rehoboth.
2.The Transitional Committee organized first the general meeting and then the AGM. At the 8 July 2023 AGM the revised BASC Constitution was adopted and the BASC Board was elected to lead this great club. As provided for in the BASC Constitution, the Board appointed the BASC EXCO to run the operations of BA.
3. The Board drafted the BASC Strategic/Business Plan (this will be shared with the members soon) and drafted new policies for officials and players.
4. The BASC EXCO appointed the technical team (Coaches and team manager etc) and they have been preparing the team for the last 4 months to play in the Southern Stream First Division (SSFD). The BASC EXCO registered the club within the registration period given by the NFA and paid the prescribed registration fee. The coaches and team manager have prepared the players well because our aim is to bring the team back to the premier league as soon as possible.
5. After the registration period closed, four individuals (Tommy Adams, Anton van Wyk, Lolo Goraseb and Drallie Titus) registered another BA with the help of Murs Markus and other NFA officials.
6. The chairman of the BA EXCO wrote letters and provided supporting documents as demanded to the NFA and SSFD to prove who is the lawfully elected leadership. Murs Markus (chairman of SSFD and NFA Vice-President) didn’t ask Tommy Adams & Co to provide documents. I personally called Murs Markus why he was being biased but he was very arrogant in his replies. That is when I realized that he had a hidden agenda.
7. We then consulted a lawyer on the matter and the lawyer wrote a letter which we also submitted to the NFA and SSFD.
8. The Monday after the NFA congress, Murs Markus wrote a letter in which he ruled not to recognize the lawfully elected leadership. He has shown his true colours that he is hellbent to destroy our club with the assistance of Tommy Adams, Anton van Wyk, Lolo Goraseb and Drallie Titus.
9. The same Monday we submitted an Appeal letter to the NFA President which is being ignored to date.
10. When the supporters protested at the NFA on Friday, the NFA President called me to ask the owners (members and supporters) to stop the protest. I refused his request because he never answered my calls and I will always support the people who elected me.
11. There are no two BAs. There is only one BA established in 1964. We shall never allow four individuals to pretend to be our leaders. Who elected them where, when and by whom? We can never ever fail our founders.
12. We shall continue to fight for our beloved BA in all fronts, in the Board rooms, on the football & netball fields, in the streets.
13. I want to salute Asprilla Gariseb and every supporter who turned up at the NFA Soccer House and at the Ramblers Field to stop the fake BA. How can two former BA players go so low to destroy the rich legacy of the most successful club in the country for personal gain? Look at the players they presented on Saturday as BA players!! Shame on Tommy, Anton, Lolo and Drallie!! You relegated our club and still want to take it down to the 2 division!! How low can you go?
14. The BASC Board and EXCO will do everything in their power to fight for this club. We owe it to the founders, former leaders and players and future leaders and players.
16. No person or body such as the NFA/SSFD will enforce leaders to BA. Only the members and supporters have that authority
15. On behalf of the Board and EXCO, I urge you to support us and Asprilla to fight for our club. Please sign any petition if requested and if you are based in Windhoek don’t sit at home and text on whattsapp. Come to where the masses are and show your support.
16. You and I are born BA and we shall die BA.
17. If you want to preserve the existence of our club stand up and be counted. Pay your monthly fees and contribute in your actions. Don’t just rely on others. You the supporters managed to stop the fake matches this weekend but we cannot rest as the enemy is busy in the background.
And finally, may the soul of our former player and my idol, Hannes Louw, rest in eternal peace. He has joined the BA squad (who gave us the rich legacy) in heaven.
