The checklist might make everything sound more complicated at first, but it just ensures that whatever you post ACTUALLY has an *intention*behind it.

Posting just to post it is not what’s going to get you the results.

But, you shouldn’t overthink your conent either.

If you know your stuff (strategy, brand, and audience), plan ahead, and keep things easy to understand, you’re good to go.

No, it’s not love - it’s your caption! (Though pouring your heart into your content definitely helps. :)

Though they seem difficult at first, following this simple layout makes it much easier:

1. Hook: Short questions or statements that grab attention. So it intrigues your reader to read more.

2. Body Text: Storytelling helps your reader connect more deeply with your content. You want it to be relatable and have personality.

3. Call-To-Action: Direct your audience to what they need to do next. This can be to make a purchase, sign up for a newsletter, click a link, or contact you.

4. Hashtags: Find relevant hashtags that your potential clients would actually search for.

This was a shot from a restaurant content shoot that had its fair share of challenges.

With unexpected distractions—like paying clients we couldn’t ask to move, cars parked in the wrong spots, a quickly setting sun, and a tight schedule—it was definitely hectic!

But luckily, a little Photoshop magic saved the day.

I’m thrilled with how beautifully the video & photo content turned out, and the client is too! (Which matters the most).

Once you’ve chosen your content pillars, you should stick to them when planning a post.

Here are a few questions you can ask to find your ideal pillars:

1. What topics do our target audience care about?
2. How can we highlight what makes our brand special?
3. Which content formats do our audience prefer?

Please don’t do this...

Don’t waste your time, energy, and money trying to be on every social media platform.

2-3 platforms are more than enough.

Instead, focus on quality over quantity and choose your platforms based on:

Your audience’s activity levels on social media. More young people might have a Facebook profile but are more active on instagram.

Also, think about your strengths and what you’re willing to invest. Are you into writing, speaking, or video editing? Are you open to learning or hiring someone to help you if not?

Lastly, consider your goals for your audience. Some brands use social media to boost brand recognition and build relationships, while others use it for customer support.

Choose your platforms considering these aspects, and you’ll be on a good path. :)
