Marinda Stein is a writer, director and producer, hailing from the southern town of Keetmanshoop in Namibia. She obtained her National Diploma in Video Production at the Durban University of Technology
(previously Technikon Natal) in Durban, South Africa, in 2001. Upon her return to Namibia, she worked as Producer at the Namibian Broadcasting
Corporation, NBC. Marinda became part of the pioneering team of Namibia’s free-to-air TV
station, ONE Africa Television, when it was launched in November 2003. After five years at the
station, she took the bold step of joining the independent film making market in 2008. Marinda directed a variety of genres over the years – LIVE TV broadcasts, magazine programmes, game shows, social documentaries and corporate videos. She also produced and directed Namibia’s 1st ever reality TV show, Just Fabulous, broadcast on ONE Africa Television in 2009. Her entry into the world of film came through her selection as co-writer and producer of the
Namibian Film, ‘Against the Odds’, for Desert Soul Namibia/ Soul City SA. It formed part of the ‘One Love’ series, televised in 9 countries across Southern Africa, in 2010. She produced the award-winning short film, ‘Dead River’ (directed by Tim Huebschle) in the Namibia Film Commission’s Film Project 2011/2012, and directed a short educational film for GIPF, titled ‘Your Claim, Your Right’ in 2012. In 2014, Marinda directed the short film ‘Coming Home’ in the Namibia Film Commission’s Film
Project 2013/2014. ‘Coming Home’ won the awards for Best Original Screenplay and Best Production Design at the 2014 Namibia Theatre and Film Awards. ‘Coming Home’ also screened at
the Africa Alive Film Festival in Frankfurt, Germany and was selected for FESPACO, the PanAfrican
Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), AFRIFF, IIFF, as well as FIC Luanda, in 2015. Marinda launched her series on Namibian women on-line in 2013. This passion project, capturing the inspiring life journeys of phenomenal Namibian women, was released as 13-part series on DVD titled ‘Women of Our World’, in September 2014. Thunderboldt Design & Post-Production
Haiko Boldt is the thundering drive behind ThunderBoldt – Design and Post Production Company, the preferred choice of post-production services for RedHot Film Productions. Haiko entered the film industry as a graphic designer, but his passion for creation soon led him to develop an interest in editing and eventually specializing therein. Unconventional, fresh and edgy describe his skill and interpretation of film and story. ThunderBoldt was registered in 2010 and thus far serviced a broad client base with the best post-production facilities for various genres.
